So the Sprints network wasn't always slow? What happened to it that it got so slow because from June from last year to now its pretty hard to believe that the network wen't from 2.1Mbps to roughly 0.10Mbps in some areas. What happened that it fell so quickly?

in the last year, sprint introduced the iphone. Also, new phones and being the only unlimited carrier has customers running to Sprint. Problem is, sprint wasn't prepared for that many users and now a lot of areas have slow connections. But, with network vision, it's only going ti get better.
  2. Does ehrpd give better speed results than evdo A?

they're about the same. Sometimes it's slightly faster and I notice upload is usually faster on it. Although it's hardly noticeable.
  3. I have been impressed by Sprint's speeds here since arrival.

I've been in different areas all day. Been here since 5pm, mtn time.

Edit: the 2mbps speed test is right at sunset Boulevard and Laurel Avenue.

  4. I'm 4 miles away south of LAX and my speeds are still showing EVDO. 425782bd-f1a1-3ba0.jpg

I'm north of Lax 2ish miles. Maybe your tower south hasn't been upgraded yet.

You won't get much exclusive time. I'm coming down to LA tomorrow early morning. I just hope my data speeds will be closer to yours unlike the last time i was down there. 10-20 Kbps on 3g.

they've been consistently above average (avg being 500kbps). My hotel room has 1mbps down and up. :-)

I'll let you know if I get any lte action.

Nope. Doesn't mean that at all. eHRPD goes live far in advance of LTE.

coolio I hope I get some exclusive lte testing!

The only time I've ever seen "45 days" in relation to Network Vision is site de-installs. It was originally plan that legacy equipment would be removed 45 days after Network Vision work is completed.

this fills me with happiness. Means lte won't take as long to install as I had originally thought.

Based on our observations here at S4GRU, from the point where workers first show up on a site and start work, until it is complete and accepted by Sprint is typically three weeks (barring any complications or delays).

    Robert

I recall reading it being 45 days somewhere because they take breaks and don't work on weekends? So is it consecutive 3 weeks or 21 days of actual work, over a period of ~45 days?
  9. I sold Sprint stock to get into Netflix. Worst mistake ever. About a week later, sprint went up 25% from q2 earnings and Netflix went down 20% from theirs. Lol steadily nflx has been going back up but sprint has been soaring since then. I see a good future for sprint and they've definite got the investments needed to pay for this lte rollout.

  10. I've tested it on 17 phones now between here (Rochester) and Buffalo, NY. None of the phones were able to complete an app download on 3G data. I hope its just an intermediate issue and will be resolved soon.
I had this issue in phoenix Arizona. I lost my 3g icon on 3 phones and it did not return until about 35 minutes. It was only temporary. Have no idea if it's the signal here or if it's a nationwide hiccup.
  11. While I was waiting for my plane. I literally walked all the way across the airport and stayed 3g the entire time. Well, I decided to check my usage today and noticed I've used 22kb of 4g! Somewhere while my phone was in my pocket, it must've downloaded an email or something on 4g. I'm so sad that I didn't see it in action. I'll just have to wait until Jacksonville has lte. :(
