  1. Well, I usually have great 3g speeds at my house at 2.5mbps with around 100 ping time. This was pretty consistent all day and at peak hours, it'd still be over 1800kbps. Well as of about a week ago, I noticed my speeds were averaging 200kbps and ping times were between 300-500. I called sprint and they said there was a ticket that stated an outage occurred in my area. They said this would be resolved Oct 11th. Well, in the morning on Oct 12th, I noticed the speeds were still really bad so I contacted sprint and asked them to check the ticket number they gave me. They stated the ticket number was removed from the system and that meant things were fixed. Well after waiting 30 minutes, sprint finally found another ticket number stating an outage was still in my area and that it would be resolved Oct 16th. Well I just did a speed test and I got pretty bad results again. During the night though, I get the 2.5mbps speeds that's always been there. During the day, I get 200 kbps speeds and 300-500ping. There's no way that this could happen this rapidly in a series of a week, right? I would believe sprint having an outage if my speeds consistently had slow results 24 hours a day, but at night things return to normal. I'm convinced someone is abusing the sprint network during the day and tethering their usage on unauthorized devices by using illegal methods. Any thoughts? I'll call Sprint tomorrow and maybe they will say there's a delay somewhere. I've went to the site in my neighborhood and are no signs of network vision there so I know it's not side effects of network vision.

  2. I doubt any Google network, Dish network, or Google/Dish network will be organically grown from the ground up. They will either purchase an existing network or do a hosted network deal with Sprint, or someone else. At least that is what I believe.

    Robert

That'd be cool if they bought Sprint out. I have a strong feeling they're going to go with gsm technology though because that's what all of their Nexus devices originally work with.

  3. The companies also have filed a petition asking the FCC to make a declaratory ruling that would allow SoftBank to exceed a 25 percent foreign ownership benchmark.

I thought Verizon is like 40% owned by Vodafone? How is this possible if the FCC doesn't allow this? Or maybe I misunderstood?

  4. Yes I'm on the EVO. The job I have requires me to drive all over. I live on the northside and work in Middleburg. Also once a week I have to take a drive to university Blvd and on my days off I may end up anywhere. I havent been out towards the beaches in a few months.

There is no 4g active there, yet. What gives? The antenna installation should be the last thing to do!

  5. I'm trying my best to find out what tower I'm connected to, but while I was on the ##DEBUG# menu, I noticed my 1x protocol has a 1x 2nd RSSI at -63. Is this always -63 and does this mean there's another tower that's got a -63 dBm signal? Also - does the Latitude/Longitude combo on this screen tell me which site I'm connected to?

    Thanks

I'm on GS3 if it matters.

  6. All it would do is having more people with bad reception ....

Bad reception or not, At&t with T-Mobile combined would have over twice the amount of customers, twice the revenue. This would make it much cheaper for at&t to upgrade its network and get more device selection that it can buy in bulk. Customers must not care much about gsm voice quality, if there's that many on the gsm network.
