The iOttie ones on Amazon are my favorite. They are well made, never had any issues.

It does not seem to make a difference. I still have to toggle off/on airplane mode when I get off the elevator at work for my phone to switch to LTE from 3G.
PRL's don't impact LTE, they are for CDMA.

Who was it that had access to John Saw. I think this is something he can resolve quicker. The issue appears to be that the phone is no longer prioritizing b41, and instead connecting to the "strongest signal." When did we become att?

The iPhone is making Sprint's network seem like total garbage. They need to fix this. I'm getting frustrated with their executive support. I know more about their network than them. I just wish someone at Sprint would acknowledge that there is a problem.
Are Sprint employee email addresses first.last@sprint.com?

Does this mean more scumbags chose T-Mobile than any other carrier? Lol

I just did an update and now see PRL 55026? Is that new? I thought it was 55025.
Good catch. My iPhone 6+ was on 55025, an update put it on 55026.

Talked to exec support again. They are clueless and really not sure what to do. "Product development" says no way it's carrier 20.1, network support isn't showing any tower problems. They are going to go back to product development and network support to see what else they can do. I'm so sick of my phone being useless in areas where there used to be a decent LTE signal.
Anyone else making any progress?

U think philly market would be optimized by now ,same thing in baltimore.
I'm starting to think Baltimore is a long lost market for Sprint. Maybe they don't want to send crews in...which I understand. Lol.

Have you guys opened support tickets with Sprint yet?
Carrier 20.1 seems to be making Sprint's network seem like total crap. I'm at home switching between 3G and band 26. I'm usually rocked band 41 with decent signal and 40-50Mbps speeds. The last time I talked to Sprint they didn't think it could possibly be the carrier update.
-
I know this sounds crazy and all, but since 20.1 dropped, my phone can't even hold onto weaker EVDO signals, call quality in my house has gone to crap on my friends 5S (not set up for WiFi calling), and overall signal levels have dropped remarkably.
I can't even leave my house without dropping EVDO within 2 blocks, and I really think it's the carrier bundle. Plus, it's nearly impossible for my phone to latch onto roaming. If Sprint doesn't expand service in Pahrump soon, I think I'm going to go crazy.
Same here. I'm rocking 1x is places I used to get acceptable band 25 LTE. I've been complaining on Twitter for 2 weeks now. Sprint exec support is supposed to be calling me tomorrow. You should tweet marceloclaure and marcicarris about 20.1 carrier. Just so they see more and more people with problems.

I think the point is innovation in the network management arena. This is an area Sprint really could innovate and earn a consumer friendly image.

Sprint's network was completely over burdened in downtown Bel Air today for the parade. Calls incomplete, sms failing...data was not even an option. ????????
I would imagine any COWs in the region are likely staged in downtown Baltimore or DC...which is understandable.

Just watched johns periscope (couldn't catch it live, but recorded was fine)
I enjoyed it and some nice beach scenes.

Already discussed at length in the Marcelo/new sprint thread.

Cisco is firmly against LTE-LAA as well. I'd be so upset if it interfered with my home WiFi network. Especially since the 2.4 ghz level is so crowded.
True story! I live in a townhouse...5Ghz is the only way I can get wifi speeds above 2Mbps because 2.4Ghz is so crowded.

Sprint called about 20.1...they are convinced it's something else. Still working on it.

I gathered that your concern was rooted in conflicting answers given by care. I suggested using a department created to address elevated customer concerns. In the end, they will be who you talk to anyway. If you perceive that means I am in a "love affair" with sprint, and we are talking about affairs, then there's a stranger in your house.

I do believe the FCC would have issue with Sprint's video throttling, but that is for them to decide. Since Sprint removed it, likely no reason for FCC to respond. I also think T-Mobile's "music freedom" would violate the new rules, but I'm hopeful someone else will take care of that complaint.

If you're an average, uninformed consumer who likes to quiz random sprint reps and hang on every answer, then the FCC and the BBB are fair game for you to bring any and all of your concern or contempt for Sprint. I would expect the knowledge base of an S4GRU member to be better than average. And if an S4GRU member takes that route because of something front line care said, then the complaint could be argued as more a desire to complain than an actual need for assistance. In the future, if you don't like answers you get from front line care, you might try the executive care hotline first instead of growing Sprint's FCC or BBB numbers,
So because we all have a love affair for Sprint, they should be allowed to do whatever they'd like? It's not like a filed a lawsuit against Sprint. If I have a complaint about a company regulated by the FCC, and I can use that avenue...I will. Sprint isn't innocent always. Neither are the other guys. Competition is good for consumers, as is the FCC.

You're right. I don't care. My thought was related to the over indulgence of the plan. Not Johnner1999.
I will say that I am sorry for putting the post up directed at Johnner1999. I am willing to admit my mistake on that.
I do think 3 new phones a year is a bit much, for me at least. I'm typically exclusive to iPhones, but every once in a while I'll give a flagship Android phone a try.

That is uncalled for and blatantly ignorant. You've never indulged in anything "not necessary"? I doubt that. If someone enjoys having a new phone not based on some arbitrary timeline set by carriers many years ago, why should they not be able to do that? It's about options. Why do you care so much? This is what reminds me of why america is not the greatest country anymore. Excess for no apparent reason.
Excess for no apparent reason is what made America great. We don't need 1500 nukes, but hey...why not? Eat it USSR!

Update:
Not sure if it is a local tower issue or due to the carrier package 20.1, but I am not holding on to LTE like I used to in rural areas. On a 15 mile trip through the country where I used to have LTE the entire trip, I saw both 3G and 1X. Reported in the sprintzone app, but I can say I am not super happy about it.
I still grab solid B26 inside my house, so not all is lost.
20.1 is awful. I tweeted SprintCare, and they are looking into it.

switching my phone out 3x a year sounds like more of a hassle than a gift
I think options are good though. I don't see myself switching phones that often. I stick with iPhones typically, which come out once a year.

We are now about a dozen years into the mobile packet data era. That is plenty of time to adapt. People should manage their own data usage. They should select tiers that are personally and financially appropriate. That is how supply industries balance consumer demand.
AJ
I agree for the most part. My biggest gripe is the data usage count on Sprint is not always the most up to date. I'm not sure how often it's updated, but it's usually several hours or even a day behind. Android users have options to track usage, but it's harder on an iPhone.

The terms and conditions of the plans can be changed at any time, but Framily and every other plan did not change. Until they actually do something that negatively impacts you, why would you contact the FCC?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Why? Because Sprint CS specifically told me that my unlimited Framily line would be throttled at all times now too. They said it was new for some plans. Now I'll admit, I have no clue if the CS rep was accurate or not...but a 600Kbps throttle would have forced me to switch. The only way I knew to get an absolutely honest answer, was the FCC complaint route.

I got a call from John Thomas today, he is the Sprint Director of Network Service Management. Was not able to talk to him, but will report back.
The VM mentioned he wants to setup some call traces...not really sure what that means.
