  1. Most people are of the opinion that it should have been that way to begin with. But unfortunately, that is not the case. In order to find out what band you are connecting to I highly recommend you guys check out Signal check pro. The latest version does detect what band your connecting too. Im just not 100% sure it works on every device. But its worth a shot (there are other ways depending on device)

    BTW as a quick reference

Band 25 (1900Mhz) is the most prevalent LTE (Maxes out 37.5mb sec)

Band 26 (800Mhz) is currently being deployed, great for indoor coverage (Maxes out at the same 37.5mb sec)

Band 41 (2500/2600 "Spark") is also in active deployment. This is the one youll be looking for if your interested in seeing those super high speeds (maxes out around 80-90mb sec)

Oh I definitely use Signalcheck Pro, upgraded last year before I got my N5. Haven't seen any other bands register though so far other than Band 25, though considering the N5 hasn't been enabled with Spark I assume that would be why

  2. There is zero evidence of spark from this screenshot, that spark logo is there regardless of what band it is on. The only thing thats for sure, is that its connected to LTE.

well...damn. I was under the interpretation that the icon only shows when connected to a spark site. Had I known that it appears regardless, I wouldn't have posted it.

  3. I don't know what is going on but I can not find the google camera in the play store. Is it a third party app?

It came up for me automatically when I loaded up the play store, should already be under the my apps section of the store for you.

  4. Do you guys think the Spark update is being held back until Google can release Android 4.4.3?

I think its being held back because Spark and Band 41 have only been deployed in some markets. They probably didn't see the need to enable both bands if only a small number could access those bands.

  5. The best thing they can do is to make phones that can access both LTE networks. It will take at least 2-3 years to integrate the two networks.

Well technically they'd already have two devices that would be compatible with either network, one by Apple and the other by Google, if my understanding of band specification is correct.

  6. Keep thinking of testing out Sprint, but not sure how the network state is currently.

What do the local folks think about LTE coverage and speeds? I'm living in the Maitland area and working in the I-Drive / Universal area.

I haven't had an issue, I'm able to hold a continuous and consistent LTE connection from my office in Downtown Orlando to my residence in Winter Park, and around most of the surrounding area. Speeds at my office tend to be around 20-25mbps as the tower I'm connected to is about 500yds away, and speeds at and inside my residence tend to be around 10-15mbps.

  7. just came from Altamonte Springs, tower located on public storage property on the corner of Lake Howell and SR436 next to the now closed Hooters appears to have a crew working on it. I noticed they were bringing up RRU's but I wasn't able to get a better view as I was in stop and go traffic. Coordinates are 28° 38.430', -81° 19.425'
