  1. Okay, looks like somebody picked up some more in the area, and I think I can narrow down the tower location to the one at the winter park towers (old folks home) on lakemont since that's where the signal appears to be strongest, at least according to the map. There is only one other tower in that immediate area according to sprints network upgrade map, just south of Baldwin park on the corner of Bennett and e. colonial.
  2. Caught it as I was driving down General Reese, and held the connection all the way down N. Lakemont Ave till I got to my street which is not too far off. I couldn't narrow the tower down, but I've got a pretty good idea where it was coming from.
  3. Picked up LTE just outside Baldwin Park, got it all the way into Winter Park before it cut back to 3G. Speedtest was in the range of 5mbps down, 1mbps upload. I mapped it, map should be updating momentarily
  4. well, just got my replacement evo today (refurb, grrrr... ). After going through it and restoring everything, no defects detected, though I'm having an issue with staying connected to 3G under LTE/CDMA, and it appears to be isolated specifically to eHRPD. The 3G icon will appear for a split second, then disconnect, then do this again a few more times before defaulting to EVDO. I'm assuming this may be a network/tower issue as I've never had a problem like this under LTE/CDMA
  5. had a chance to talk to some of the Sprint techs at the Repair Center on E. Colonial and Herndon today when I brought my Evo in (got a new phone ordered because they found a defect in the earpiece speaker and one of the antennas), they have an LTE repeater there but its not active yet, and even they were tired of it taking so long for the rest of the city to light up- in comparison to the UCF/ Avalon Park area but they understood the reasons why it was taking so long. They were also all sensorly users.
  6. The screenshot below is from a tweet confirming that the HTC Jewel (EVO LTE) and a few other models would get a Sense 5 update and Android 4.2.2, in which the person who posted this tweet has usually posted very credible and reliable information in the past about other updates. So it looks to be pretty much confirmed
  7. there's a big tower in Downtown Orlando that I drive by everyday coming home from the office, its just off of...17/92 and Virginia Dr. It looks to be on Brookhaven Dr, just to the right of Lake Highland Preparatory. Can't quite tell if work has been done as there are so many panels and antennas on it but I'll see if I can get a few shots of it.
  8. Picked up some more LTE on Aloma ave a little bit ago, speedtest was less than 500kbps (which was kinda funny considering that's how slow sprints 3G has been). Had to toggle airplane mode about three times before it came on.
  9. It appears one of the towers near me has just recently been upgraded or switched on as its immediate area is showing up on sensorly. Its a tower just up the road from Fullsail, on the corner of Forsyth Rd and University Blvd.
  10. just found some unmapped LTE on a side street off Aloma. Only got four points before it switched back over to 3G, so the signal was pretty weak but the map should be updated in a bit
  11. I'd say its not out of the realm of possibility we'll get it considering it probably is a lot less bloated then previous versions of sense, not to mention the build is jellybean. Then again considering HTC's past record, likely won't be an official update. I don't like Sense 5 anyway, looks a lot like a mashup of Windows Phone and Android
  12. its off and on for me, certain days I find it working and other days it isn't. I got it yesterday when I was out walking my dog, not so today. Considering our area is still pre-launch, they are probably still testing. Should be better signal strength once the rest of the towers are upgraded.
  13. big negative, I went to the location friday where that spot of LTE was showing up in downtown orlando, got nothing. It appears LTE is also down on Aloma where its been showing up on Sensorly.
  14. That they do, but Ericsson is making a lot of progress now. I'm gonna try and scan the area in downtown orlando tomorrow after work. Its just up the road from my office so if I can beat the 5pm traffic gridlock, we'll have more of the map covered.
  15. Just came up Aloma ave, I can confirm LTE is active but its really spotty (at least for now), but my evo jumped from 3G to LTE seamlessly. Can't say everybody is having the same experience but it looks like the recent update fixed the evo to a degree. Wasn't able to get a speed test either as I was driving, maybe later when I get out of work
  16. I was searching for it using the LTE Discover App, which automatically toggles airplane mode and then switches off to search for LTE. I went out later and was well within the coverage area. Searched, and got nothing.
  17. I'm exactly just a few feet from the lte coverage area on Aloma, a bit west of SR436. Assuming they must be still testing as I'm not getting a hit. Sensorly appears to be only pulling in 3G points as well.
  18. well now, it looks like all of Aloma Ave (including my area) has been covered as well as parts of SR436, however, it appears they are either being tested or off at the moment as I'm only getting 3G. Tried mapping my area when I was walking the dog, only got a few 3G spots and some new Wifi spots to show up
  19. I tried it with airplane mode, it hung for like a second and a half while searching for LTE before defaulting to CDMA. Then went and did the *#*#4636#*#* and switched the mode to just LTE under phone info, nothing. Just the x in the upper left corner of the signal bars. The 32765 code stops like two blocks east of me and 32789 is about roughly 10 minutes west of me
