  1. Yeah, that is the part that threw me for a loop. Sure, I mistook correlation for causation, but I reasonably expected any FCC OET revealed Samsung handsets today to be Galaxy Note 3 variants. AJ
  2. Here is the good news. If a Galaxy S4 mini is tri band, that is only one of the two expected Samsung tri band handsets by the end of the year. So, the outlook is good, even better now for the Galaxy Note 3. AJ
  3. Okay, guys, I wish we could roll back the last 20 minutes. I posted before I checked the dimensions on this handset, but Josh caught it. This handset is tri band, but it is too small to be a Galaxy Note. In fact, it is too small to be a Galaxy S4. This is probably an updated version of the long expected Galaxy S4 mini. AJ
  4. Hey, hold your horses, pal. I am already working on it! AJ
  5. Now, let me give you a topic. The tri band Galaxy Note 3 has no SVDO, nor SVLTE. Talk amongst yourselves... AJ
  6. Actually, the various Galaxy Note 3 FCC OET authorization docs must have been trickling in over the past few minutes because there are more now, including this one: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=188613&fcc_id=A3LSPHL520 Tri band! AJ
  7. Look on the bright side, the international version has no LTE. At the very least, the Sprint variant will beat that by one band. AJ
  8. Well, it was divulged today, even after I checked just a few hours ago. AJ
  9. Here you go, what you have all been awaiting. The FCC OET just released the authorization docs for the Galaxy Note 3: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=661028&fcc_id=A3LSMN900 Yeah, the international version! AJ
  10. The device on the left does not look "LG." It looks "Asus" -- almost the spitting image of the back of my second gen Nexus 7. Unless that man is huge enough to make a Nexus 7 look small, the device appears to be potentially a 5 in handset version of the second gen tablet. AJ
  11. You assume too much intelligence and benevolence among Sprint sales staff. Yes, here at S4GRU, we have some great front line sales and tech support Sprint staffers -- they are knowledgeable about and interested in what they do. But they are the exception rather than the rule. Like it or not, most wireless front line staff seem not the sharpest tools in the shed and/or disinterested in their jobs. Now, combine that employee lassitude with consumer ignorance, and you have got a real challenge. Honestly, most consumers are stupid about most things. What percentage do you think already understand or could quickly comprehend why simultaneous voice works when on a Wi-Fi or WiMAX data connection but not on a CDMA2000 or LTE connection? Therein lie several problems with your "selling point"... AJ
  12. Should we start calling you "Buffalo Bill"? Or maybe Jame Runagumb? AJ
  13. Not at all. Inclusion of SVLTE is not a selling point to average consumers. Omission of simultaneous voice and data, though, is an unsettling surprise for almost any subs who come over from AT&T or T-Mobile at this point. AJ
  14. I tend to agree, but I am just throwing out there a possibility as a point of discussion. Then, when the facts come down, you know that you can count on S4GRU for the straight scoop. AJ
  15. If the subsidized Galaxy Note 3 were to cost differentially $100 more at Sprint, people would find another reason to bitch. See my point? AJ
  16. Guys, you cannot please everyone. Plenty of people in the comments following our LG G2 article have expressed displeasure at the lack of SVLTE, let alone SVDO. Sources have told us that SVLTE and tri band will not be compatible. The increase in cost is too great. While even we think that farfetched, it has proven true with the first tri band handset. So, if the cost increase is truly substantial for multiple tri band radio paths, whom do you expect to absorb those costs? Samsung? Sprint? Consumers? None of the above? Think about it... AJ
  17. I will freak you out. What if Sprint chose SVLTE over tri band LTE for the Galaxy Note 3??? We all know how ridiculous it looks to use the oversized Galaxy Note series like regular handsets. So, speaker phone and Bluetooth usage are more likely -- both of which also lend themselves to simultaneous voice and data. SVLTE could be a priority. AJ
  18. That depends. I said "our luck." So, do you feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? AJ
  19. Our luck, the FCC OET docs will be released today, only a day after we finally got around to publishing the article on the LG G2. AJ
  20. Well, rich Corinthian leather is even more exclusive, as Ricardo Montalban's face is also made out of it. AJ
  21. I hear that the back of the Galaxy Note 3 is covered in rich Corinthian leather. AJ
  22. burnout... If I am not mistaken, this is your second thread started on this issue. Please do not do that; keep relevant info in one place. Moreover, local issues belong within their respective market threads. So, expect your threads to be merged and moved later today. Thanks... AJ
  23. I still say the LTE maps may erroneously reflect something on the order of -120 dBm RSSI instead of RSRP. AJ
  24. As far as I know, that is a trademarked name. Google is really scraping the bottom of the barrel if it cannot come up with further generic sweet/desert names. AJ
