My apologies if it came off as a rant. Perhaps I could have toned it down a bit. It's just frustrating to have upgrades available, wanting to stay on their network to keep my unlimited plan, and know that the iphone is dual band and the G2 is triband. I wouldnt have been as disappointed if all these other phones that were coming out were single band. To be honest, they're not even an option for me at this point because once you get used to the screen size of the Note, it's hard to go back to a smaller screen. The S3 I got for my mom doesn't even seem big enough at this point. I guess I'll hold out hope for the HTC max to be dual or tri band if I decide to stay with SPrint

I understand if you're in a LTE area and you want to argue that you don't need a triband phone. If you fall into that category this isn't for you. I have been researching this phone for the past year and was hoping for the best. Even when there were rumors about the phone missing triband capabilities, I figured we still had a chance that Sprint was going to do the right thing and that was the reason for the delayed announcement. Well today is the day Im done with Sprint. If they weren't releasing triband phones then fine, I can accept it, but when midrange devices like the Galaxy Mega and S4 Mini are coming out with it, this is a slap in the face to the consumer. It's another slap when you consider the extra $50 charge. I WOULD HAVE GLADLY paid the extra $50 since it's a 32GB phone if it had triband, but this is a joke. Some people will argue that triband isnt necessary right now but I beg to differ. I get LTE and you know what? It stops the minute I get in my garage. This is because the single band is terrible at building penetration. A triband phone would eventually alleviate that problem, even if it took Sprint a year to finish upgrading their network. So in essence, we know Sprint has the technology (S4 mini, Mega, and G2) but they didn't bother incorporating it into their now most expensive device? A rep will argue that $50 more up front is okay because we pay less than we would with other providers. This is true but if the data is useless then what's the point? Paying an extra $50 to eat crud is still eating crud.

does anyone know what the actual "average" of LTE should be when it rolls out? Poster above says he got 5.61 mbps. From what Ive seen in southern CA, that's the 3G speed for other carriers. Whenever I do speedtests with my friends they get far superior numbers to Sprint. T-Mobile HSPA- 13mbps Verizon- 21mbps Sprint- 3mbps (I was on LTE) Granted that isn't everywhere, but we did the speedtests at the exact same locations. I'm clinging onto Sprint because of their unlimited and hopes that they get everything deployed but it's getting harder to stay with them.

I highly doubt Google releases the new one as a 8gb option. 32gb is starting to be the norm so at the bare minimum I would expect 16gb. Even if the 16gb is $349, that's only $150 more than the $199 Sprint version. $150 more to be able to upgrade at anytime is worth it to me. Especially when I consider that the Nexus can be sold when the S5 comes out.

The LG g2 doesnt interest me at all. I don't think the buttons on the back are intuitive and assuming its the basis for the nexus 5, why pay 199 and upgrade when u might be able to buy it for 249 or 299 direct from google and keep your upgrade eligibility? I could buy the S5 later this year, then sell the Nexus at that time.

I don't get why the note 3 wouldn't be triband just because things aren't rolled out. If it isn't at least dual band, Im not upgrading and getting stuck in a 2 year contract w/ a single band phone The original EVO was being sold and I didn't get WIMAX even at the end of my 2 year contract.

So I currently get 4G up to my garage. The minute I step inside I have no reception. In fact, I need an airvana just to make and receive phone calls. Would a triband phone fix this problem? Could I assume that I'd have better/stronger reception or would this assumption be false? I was waiting for the Note 3 specifically hoping for triband. I dont want to get a G2 because I cant go back to a smaller screen and love the s pen.

I called about this LAST year. They initially said May/April. It's now September and I haven't seen any progress and 3G continues to be near useless at times. I'm really hoping they can start speeding things up. On a side note, I'm also wondering if the new triband phones will significantly increase reception of LTE. I know the LG G2 is supposed to be triband. I hope the Note 3 is as well.

Any idea what's going on in Jurupa 92509 area? Speeds have been absolutely useless the past week. Are they upgrading/fixing towers?

im also in the same area and speeds are horrendous. They have been terrible for months. I had a day where i got 1.08 Mbps down but it only lasted a hour or so. Its consistently under .30Mbps. I'm around Pyrite, Valley Way, off the 60

Interesting...can you provide more info on this? Diamond bar was also one of the cities to strongly protest the building of a football stadium that was planned nearby in the city of industry. I'm pretty sure that's why they're planning to build one in L.A. Live instead.

I understand it's clear wire but why can't I blame Sprint? Everything pointed to LTE as the future, they took a gamble no one else took and it clearly back fired. They might not have been in charge of wimax deployment but investing in it was poor judgment

I just thought it would work here when it was deployed. My house is a weird location because friends with Verizon and ATT notice huge dips in service when they're at my house. The only service that works really well here is t mobile. My sister in law got 17mbps down with a prepaid card from Wal-Mart

I can't really blame Sprint. I'm more upset about the wimax deployment because I never got it and they gave up on it. At least with LTE I can see the growth and eventually it will be more widespread.I Sprint gave me an airave so I can't really blame them since they're making an effort. Robert I'm in diamond bar which is 20-30 miles outside of los Angeles. I also live in a house right next to a hill so that could play a part.

I've been with Sprint for years, I was so excited for the Evo 4g that I got it on launch day and proceeded to never get a wimax signal in my two year contract... Still I kept hope and resigned hoping for a better deployment of LTE....well I got a 4g signal today and it lasts until I get to my garage. I use an airave at home so I've never used or received mobile data at home but this is so frustrating and disappointing. Granted I use Wi-Fi but there's times my home internet is down and I was hoping to use LTE. I waited all this time, finally got it, and it can only be used in my garage. Not blaming Sprint here, just sharing my story

anybody else notice REALLY slow speeds in Riverside? the 3g is usually spotty and slow but the past few days it's been downright unusable. i wonder if theyre doing work on their towers...

Absolutely useless when the airave isn't working or if I'm too far. The absolute worst is when my cable internet is down so I try to call time Warner. The airave also stops working so I have to walk half a block to make the phone call. "Please reset your router and modem" Okay except I'm down the street.

I'm happy with those as well if they get it out everywhere. My co-worker hit 24 mbps with Verizon in the same location

Question, according to Sprint's map I should have coverage where I live. Unfortunately I only have a weak signal when I'm in my front yard. In the house I have absolutely no reception even though their map says I do. I'm currently using an airave but was wondering if the improvement to the towers well mean the signal strength will increase. If like to have some semblance of service without having to rely on the airave

5.99 mbps down. Not quite as fast as I'd hoped.

Near Chapman university. LTE seems very sensitive. I had it in one room of a building but not in the other rooms.

All day my speeds have been horrendous. I don't understand why they can't just maintain a consistent level. I have done 3 speed tests today and the highest Ive had is .18Mbps.

This really is frustrating 8:42AM this morning my speed test showed 0.02 MBPS 10:37 AM and now Im showing 0.41 MBPS The difference between those two are huge when you're trying to stream music
