  1. I noticed that Antenna 1 is far weaker in every category that Antenna 0 other than LTE. How does the phone decide which antenna to use when? And these are transmitting measurements correct? Can you extrapolate anything about reception capabilities of a device from this information?
  2. Thanks for the welcome. As I've read I've been keeping a notepad open with a list of questions. Half of them get answered as I read but new ones pop up as I go. Once I've spent a few days on my own research and gotten all caught up I'll probably drop a thread with half a dozen questions about whatever i still don't understand. Fair warning heh.
  3. Yea I read that post earlier. I actually went through and read every single wall post that wasn't just about what new areas are getting announced. I've also sorted all of the network forum threads by views and have slowly been reading through them all top to bottom. Trying to learn as much as I possibly can. I just discovered the markets forum though. Can't believe I took so long to notice that. I'll definitely pay up to be a sponsor this Friday.
  4. Up here in Redding just this last week our EVDO speeds jumped from the 300kbps its been over the last year to solid 1.5+Mbps in good coverage. I'm starting to get excited that Sprint is finally showing some love here. I need 800smr at my house so badly. So tired of half my calls going straight to voice mail.
  5. Well this thread was sure a long read. Is the best way to tell whether or not you're on SMR by using the ##debug# console on your phone? I've got sensory up and reporting and I've been playing around with the CDMA Field Test Application. My house has low coverage and bounces between four different BSIDs constantly so 800smr seems like it would be a huge help to me so I'd love to know when it launches up here. Here in Redding, CA this last week my EVDO speeds at work which has excellent coverage jumped from the 300kbps it's been the last year to a consistent 1.5+ Mbps so I'm hoping something good is happening up here.
  6. Any info about Northern Central Valley? I'm in Redding CA and just this week my EVDO speeds went form the 300kbps they've been over the last year to a consistent 1.5Mbps+. I'm assuming that means backhaul upgrades got put in but I'm wondering if there's any info you guys might have. Come payday (friday) I'll be throwing a few bucks in for the site so I can see the juicy stuff.
  7. So that means that Verizon is already using the Cellular band for CDMA1x and we roam over to their frequencies? I thought that they used 800 since any Verizon phones listed at Phonearena show the devices supporting 800 and 1900Mhz. Also I noticed that Antenna 1 is far weaker in every category that Antenna 0 other than LTE. How does the phone decide which antenna to use when? And these are transmitting measurements correct? Can you extrapolate anything about reception capabilities of a device from this information?
  8. I'm a little confused so hopefully someone can clear this up. I notice that there are measurements for both the 800 and 850Mhz spectrum. It's my understanding that Sprint only uses the 800. is the 850 just the upper end of the 800? I figured this could be because the lower frequencies could be used for tx and maybe the higher could be for rx? Or do we just not have to bother with the 850Mhz measurements at all?
  9. As I understand Sprint currently uses 1900Mhz for voice and is switching over to 800Mhz which will give vastly better coverage and building penetration. If I am correct in this is there any word from Sprint on when the changeover will happen in any markets or is it all going to be "behind the scenes" type of changes?
