  1. I took it off and stuck it to the box the phone came in. Yes... I keep the box.    :P

I do as well. People always seem so shocked when you hand them a used device in the original box. Glad I'm not alone.

  2. Have you noticed improved performance with 4G compared to EVO LTE?

I am also thinking of picking one up, but if it does not have any significant improvement in aquiring and holding 4G, then I might wait as my EVO LTE works just fine (except for the navigation issue)....

Currently, I drive through a small section of LTE on my way to/from work, so that's hard to say. I will have to get back to you on that.

  3. Finally picked it up last night after work and activated it. So far, I'm loving this thing. It runs circles around my Evo LTE. Not regretting this choice at all!

  4. I don't believe HTC sees this as a make it or break it features... Would it be nice to have it? Sure. Can you still use the phone without it? Yeah.

Agreed. It won't keep me from using the phone, but I'd much rather see them move up to the status quo with the other OEM's.

  5. Either way, there hasn't been an Evo/HTC phone that I can recall with a true RGB LED that is configurable, via something like Lite Flow. The ability to tailor custom colors for specific app notifications should be the status quo at this point, IMO.

  6. It's not remotely close to a good change, this phone is leaps and bounds ahead of the EVOLTE. Everything is fast, snappy and lag free. Hope you like it!

Good to know. After playing with one at the Sprint store, I had to have it. I'm not crazy about Blinkfeed, so I hope we can eventually disable it, but everything else seemed great. If I had to gripe about one major thing, it'd be the lack of a multi-color notification LED like Samsung has had for a few years. The little green/red LED hidden in the speaker grille is dated and ineffective IMO as a modern component of a top tier cell phone for a manufacturer.

  7. I picked up one the other day and it should be arriving later today or tomorrow. For those of you coming from the Evo LTE to the One, are you finding it to be a good change?

  8. I got a free S4 and a nice service credit from Sprint because my contract was almost up, I was a customer for about 20 years and I had MASSIVE signal problems. But that was a very peculiar circumstance.

Wow, nice! The last time I had a serious issue with my Pre, they just gave me a new one instead of a refurb and a decent service credit for 2 years. Never managed to get a new phone out of the deal.

  9. Try calling and explaining your case to Care. If he or she balks ask for someone in retention and see what they can do. If you're a good, longtime loyal customer they may help you.

I'll give it a shot. I've tried this in the past with phone launches and it never seems to end well. I basically get told that "you'll have to wait until your contract is up" line. Now, that is of course without going off the deep end and trying to be reasonable.

  10. Hello all. I've recently decided to upgrade from my Evo LTE to the HTC One, but still have some time left on my contract. The plan is to find someone selling a new in box One and pick one up. Now, Sprint wants $550 plus tax to get one at the stores, and the big box stores are even worse. Does anyone know where to find off-contract new phones for a decent price (besides eBay)?

  11. Yes, please take out your code!

Back on topic, I am ready to order this phone..but i have a bit of trepidation because of the way the EvoLTE handles LTE signals (or the lack thereof). Im usually ready to throw my phone in the trash when using a 3g signal..

I'm concerned about the same thing myself. I'm not eligible for an upgrade at the time, but I may pick up one out of contract if they really are as great as everyone is hyping it up to be. I'm waiting for others on here to get it and see what kind of feedback they provide regarding it's ability to connect to and maintain LTE, especially given how much progress MI has seen as of late with LTE coming online.

  12. Did some mapping this weekend while i was in the area. Hit some Downriver areas and Dearborn/Detroit. Didn't get much in the way of LTE signal anywhere new, which threw me off. Some places were within a radius of the tower that had been active, but not picking signal up there, then moving just a short way up the road and hitting it. Also had it on from Kalamazoo to 275 on 94, where I picked it up in Belleville, Marshall, and east of Battle Creek.

  13. Even if initial numbers are low, getting the phone to market needs to a be a primary objective for HTC. The buzz with a lack of inventory could even stimulate a sort of "second marketing push" because people won't get them right away. Word of mouth and hype could keep the One rolling, even if HTC doesn't spend a lot in marketing dollars to keep the public interested.
