  1. I am truly embarassed for Sprint.  I have been a Nextel/Sprint customer since 2001, and now, more than ever, I am actually thinking its time to just get out.  I have never even considered it, but this company is going no where fast.  I was legitimately excited thinking this was going to finally be the thing that reinvigorates the company.

    Nope.

I am actually insulted that as a 14 year customer their thanks is a piece of shit tablet and service for it.  They could give it to me for free forever and I would still be pissed off.

    End rant.

I have 6 lines that are either going to get a major restructuring price wise from Sprint, or I will find another carrier.  I dont know what carrier it will be, but if I cant get comparable rate plans for 50% less than I pay today, its over.

  2. Good they turned it around, but you can't unring the bell. This is making Sprint look very, very bad. There is no way Marcelo didn't know about this. He had to of approved it. If not, something is seriously wrong, and we better get a list of names for those fired.

Front page on reddit, for all the wrong reasons. Again, the bell is rung.

  3. Yea it does really depend on where you are.

Again low signal strength but excellent speed. I can't remember where I took that one.

Appears you are using different devices at a minimum based on your spark icon and the LTE letters. So, perhaps the slow one, with the non standard LTE and Spark logo is a rooted device, with a custom ROM, and your issue lies in the radio part of that ROM?

  4. See: http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/11/t-mobile-forced-to-stop-hiding-slow-speeds-from-throttled-customers/

The FCC ordered T-Mobile to stop "whitelisting" speed test data traffic back in November 2014.

Thats good to know, thanks.  But the guy doing the speedtests for the reporting most likely didnt have a phone that had used so much data it was getting throttled.  If you go buy a TMobile phone now and run nothing but speedtests, you are going to always get the best the network can offer, especially since the data doesnt count against your magic number that gets you throttled, versus my neighbor who has tmobile and pushes over 10 gigs a month of normal data, he would then see the slower speed reported.

  5. I agree with everything you said. But you didn't contradict my assertion that even if someone is throttled, them doing an ookla does accurately show the capacity of the network, not necessarily the speed of a throttled user.

The point I am trying to make is, their speed is artificially inflated, due to the fact that many of their users are most likely being throttled.  By throttling many, the unthrottled users or speedtesters, get a false sense of overall available bandwith.  As much as I hate to say it, it makes a case for throttling under loaded conditions.  I completely am against their prioritization of certain traffic though, in the name of a neutral net.

  6. That pic shows capacity of network. Nothing misleading about that. If you were to stream video you'd get it at the speeds shown on the bar graph.

No, you would get that speed with TMobile only if you were not over the limit that kicks off throttling for you.  You would still get it on your speed test though because of how they let their speedtest data behave differently.

This is the post I was referring too for those curious: https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/563048576214114304

  7. 4 hours on battery today, less than 2 with screen on, battery is at 48 percent already. Wtf did these guys do? I live next to my tower, so it's not due to a weak signal. But fore this update 13 hours was easy to achieve with normal use.

  8. With this latest update my battery is getting smoked.  I cant even keep the thing charged now.  Not sure what the hell happened, but I used to be able to stream non stop with it plugged in, and now, for the first time ever, I got a "you need to close apps or shut the screen off in order to charge" type of message.  The charger, same stock charger it came with, suddenly cant keep up unless the phone is completely idle and not even being looked at from across the room.

  9. Apple makes great hardware.

I hate their software policies and their desire to think they own your phone, that you bought.  It stifles development and irritates me to no end.  I have to work with mobile applications and I would rather do 100 android apps instead of 1 iOS app.

Thats all I have to say on the android vs iOS discussion.  Not going to take any bait.

  10. GPS still hasnt flopped once.

My big gripe now is that they still havent fixed the Bluetooth connections.  My S3 would connect to my truck instantly, all the time, the M8 connects instantly 1 in 10 times, the rest require bluetooth to be toggled, sometimes rebooting the phone, and sometimes it still doesnt work and takes 10-15 minutes after the reboot.

Get on that HTC will ya?

  11. And it's coming OTA tonight.

    Its starting to come tonight...

Last OTA, my phone didnt get for 3 weeks despite running manual checks multiple times daily.  I know why they do it, but its annoying none the less.
