  1. I agree 100%. I'm not a fan of the Galaxy phones. They really feel cheap, I like getting a phone that feels like it won't break in my hands. If people are upgrading with android I recommend the HTC ONE right now. It's got a solid build, Sense 5 is great, love the design and it has great hardware. Very great phone from HTC. As for Apple, I love the company but I can understand what you're saying, it gets on my nerves sometimes too but I can also see where they're coming from. As to iOS7 I'm currently running it and it's a big difference between iOS6. They're heading in the right direction with it, you can see they've been influenced by jailbreak tweaks as well as Windows and Android with the design of it. Not entirely a ripoff of them all but definitely influenced.
  2. Don't do it!!! Lol jk. They're both good platforms, I started on android, nothing wrong with it, I'm just suited more for Apple. Love my iPhone 5. If I went back to android it'd definitely be an HTC. I work with a lot of tech and help people find the right device that works for them. The arguments between Apple and Android really get on my nerves lol. Can't we all just get along? Haha
  3. Make sure you're connected to WiFi when you do the PRL update on your iPhone 5. I believe it's required, I've done and it's fixed most of my data problems for now, some areas I've been getting over 1mbps, others are still averaging .1mbps. Hope that helps.
  4. I had a horrible time connecting to 3G yesterday, had no internet connection for most of the day. When I got home I updated my PRL and it seemed to fix everything, in fact my data speeds were really good when I got to work today, averaged over 1mbps on download, but sadly it's gone back down to averaging just .07mbps again. I'm hoping that this means that the towers out here are about to be turned on because for a while I was pretty happy with the improved 3G. Anyone know if the time is upon us for LTE in the Upstate?!
  5. Thanks for the information. If we're ready I hope they turn it on real soon. We're in dire need of better service out here.
  6. Ok, has anyone heard anything about LTE anywhere else in SC? Because this is starting to get ridiculous. My brother is about to drop Sprint now because where we are in the upstate we've had absolutely abysmal service for the past month now. Data speeds are terribly slower than usual (averaging around .08 mbps) dropped calls out the wazoo and text messages that take 3 minutes to send. My brother is on the phone a lot and he has about 10-15 dropped calls a day, not an exaggeration. We even called Sprint to complain and they verified the amount of dropped calls we've been having are very high. This wouldn't be so bad if Sprint hadn't kept telling us that all the issues would be resolved on certain days which definitely did not end up being the case. I'm honestly tempted to abandon ship too but I'm not going to. Any news updates would be much appreciated.
  7. Spartanburg has been having more issues lately with Sprint coverage. I work about a mile away from one of the NV towers, the tower ID is CR03AW106 and data speeds have been slower than usual and call reception has dropped dramatically, I've had 12 dropped calls within the past 3 days and 5 were during the same conversation where I had to keep calling the person back. I also live not far from one of the NV towers, the tower ID is CR04AW385 and it's been even worse, we usually had full bars at home and now we're on extended network with about 2 bars. Not concerned about data speeds at home since I have wifi but the dropped calls are really bad there now as well and that didn't use to be the problem, my brother who is on the same plan as me has had, he says, about 20 dropped calls within this week alone, and he was having trouble last week as well. We called Sprint and they confirmed the towers were being worked on and it should be fixed by yesterday, and we're still on extended network. I'm hoping this means the towers are close to being complete but I don't want to get my hopes up. Anyone else in the upstate having these issues too?
  8. Spartanburg, I'm a mile away from one of the NV towers. It's been horrible the past 2 days here with Sprint. Last week I went to the tower and did a speed test and got 1.03 mbps download and .81 mbps download, went a mile down the street and I got .17 mbps download and .09 mbps upload. But for the past 2 days I've hardly been getting anything at all and I've had 5 dropped calls.
  9. Is something happening in Upstate SC right now? My 3G connection has been dropping a LOT the past 2 days and it's been down for about 15 min now. Hoping this means LTE is about to be turned on.
  10. I heard a rumor that upstate SC could be getting LTE by the end of this month. Taking it with a grain of salt. Any truth to the rumor or are we looking at more of a mid or late summer rollout?
  11. Anyone else having data problems in Spartanburg? I mean 3G is slow as it is here, like 0.3 Mbs, but now I'm getting absolutely nothing, can't even open a web page. Haven't heard any updates on LTE so I'm not sure if we're getting that going now and the towers are being updated. We were announced in January but no one has said anything since then really.
  12. Has there been any word on when Spartanburg will have LTE launched? I know we were announced in January, I see that the NV 3G build has been accepted though my 3G has not improved, if anything it's getting worse, just haven't heard how the LTE build is coming along,
