  1. Looking at Sensorly, apparently the tower on 29 towards Greer has finally gone live, going over there tonight to check it out since it's only a couple of miles from where I live, I'll report back with some speed tests
  2. I'm just getting some comparisons, not saying T-Mobile will be faster or Sprint will be faster but from the test Sprint won on download which could change once more people get on the network. So far I've been impressed with T-Mobile for the most part but that being said T-Mobile has major issues when you go inside a building as they typically drop to 4G or Edge network rather than LTE. Still waiting on Sprint's LTE to turn on in Spartanburg though. I agree though that it's not entirely fair to compare the two as Sprint hasn't fully launched, should've mentioned that in my video.
  3. LOL hilarious video response. Don't blame me, my buddy uses android he doesn't have a brain LOL jkjkjkjkjkjk Idk why he recorded it that way
  4. Well I went back to Greenville to do another Sprint LTE test and this time I brought a friend with me. This past week I got a T-Mobile iPhone 5 as well to test their LTE speeds out here as they just launched it about 2 weeks ago and so far I've been impressed with them but I wanted to see how the 2 did against each other so my friend filmed the speedtest on his EVO 4GLTE as I ran the tests. He also ran speedtests on his EVO and his speeds didn't reach as high as my iPhone 5, I think his best was around 16mbps. https://www.dropbox.com/s/83rwrvsep98r0gz/Greenville%20Speedtest.mp4 Also I stopped by the tower off 29 in the Lyman area, still no LTE and my 3G was horrible over there, best I got was .37 download and .21 upload.
  5. I live about 6 miles from that site, last time I was over there I still had no LTE connection
  6. Yeah I was over there and tested it too, speeds weren't that good last time I was there on 3G, wondering what the hold up is on the LTE. At work was on 1x most of the day, needless to say I was not happy about it.
  7. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It makes more sense for Greenville to get it first with it being a bigger city but I was expecting Spartanburg and Anderson first because we were announced first.
  8. On iPhone, I can't jailbreak anymore cause I'm running iOS7 beta, but originally I had my jailbroken mobile hotspot app, but it was useless on Sprint's crappy 3G network
  9. On the new plan thing, yeah I'm on a plan with 3 other people and we're paying about $208 with 1500 shared min (unlimited mobile to mobile), unlimited text and unlimited data. On the new plan the only new thing we'd get is truly unlimited talk, and we'd be paying $50 more a month, if they'd throw in a 5GB mobile hotspot feature for each phone then maybe I'd consider it but since they don't it's a complete ripoff to me. On the tower scenario, I really hope they light the upstate up fast, I'm still upset that T-Mobile got their LTE out here faster than Sprint and it's really fast on top of it, my buddy has been rubbing it in since he got it last week, his 4G HSPA+ speeds were about the same as the Sprint LTE speeds I tested in Greenville. We're getting very close though.
  10. Went to the tower in Greenville on Laurens Rd today, finally got to test some LTE. It sucked leaving the area and getting back on slow 3G. Here's the speedtest results. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t8uci2qpqn0r3s3/cqPZp_zFYs
  11. Unless you get the unlimited data plan, otherwise you get the 2GB plan and it is throttled. I'm still remaining patient.
  12. Went back to the tower off 29 and speedtest was a bit slower, .88mbps download. My buddy on T-Mobile just tested his LTE in Spartanburg and pulled 45mbps! That is ridiculous, he usually got 9mbps on his 4G alone. He's trying to convince me to make the switch to T-Mobile and I can't deny that their new JUMP program is attractive to me, though it has some minor issues, I'm holding on with Sprint for now, I'm hoping their LTE will make me want to stay with them.
  13. I just visited the tower that's reading 3G/4G on the map near Duncan off 29 and I got about 150 ft from the tower and no LTE connection, what gives? And before anyone asks, yes my LTE was switched on, I even ran another PRL update on my phone just in case but still no LTE, though my 3G speedtest almost pulled in 2 mbps on the download but still. I'm really hoping Sprint hurries with LTE here in the upstate, T-Mobile apparently just launched LTE in Spartanburg and Greenville and they only announced LTE in March, we've been listed as coming soon by Sprint since January.
  14. Fastest Speedtest yet where I work, and with only 2 bars, unfortunately it didn't last long. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zxymkjkxsvqzw40/Photo%20Jul%2004%2C%207%2022%2024%20AM.png
  15. So I've been doing some speedtests lately at work where for a long time I was barely getting anything above .1mbps download and sometimes much worse. The network has been up and down as you can see in the pics, notice the times when I did the tests and how far apart they are. The first two pics are from yesterday and the rest are from today. Keep in mind these are all from the exact same spot, sat at my desk for all of these. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3luixyou7tdr6wc/lDCKl2zHQ5
  16. That's good news to hear. I can't wait to test it in Charlotte. I'm not sure I've heard a few people saying they heard rumors that LTE would be here in the upstate by July, then others said they were told the end of July and that would be most of SC. Not sure where it originated from.
  17. Mine have been stabilizing as of late as well, where I work still sucks for 3G though but it's not as bad as the 1.5kbps I was getting for a long time, now it's more like 35kbps. I've heard a few rumors of a late July LTE launch here in SC, hope that is true. Might be going to Charlotte here soon, gonna be testing that LTE extensively haha.
  18. I'm there with you man, I'm in Greenville/Spartanburg area and I get an average of about 18kbps. Not joking, it's pretty horrible out here. It's really bad where I work though, that 18kbps would seem like a blessing compared to the 1.5kbps I've been getting for the past month, not an exaggeration at all! that and the dropped calls every day get very annoying, and the crazy thing is there's a Network Vision tower less than a mile away!!!! There are a few areas out here where I've gotten 1.5mbps but it's not a big area. I'd be happy with just getting the 3G to stay at 1.5mbps for a while haha.
  19. That seems to be the case LOL. Gotta make the time fly somehow, I just hope our LTE gets out here soon, SC needs some Sprint love for once cause they're "3G" was not a good offering in comparison to it's competitors. Where I'm at Sprint is the only carrier who doesn't have some sort of 4G out here. Verizon is LTE, AT&T has LTE and 4G HSPA+, T-Mobile has 4G HSPA+ with LTE on the way. I feel left out haha.
  20. I'm not sure, I guess internet speed and what kind of router you're using. I mean I had some lag problems too but not that often and that mainly happened with 12mbps internet with a cisco dual band router, right now I'm getting 30mbps internet and I have an apple time capsule 2TB router, can't say I've had that problem very much if at all really. What I'd do though is kill all the apps besides the emulator because it does take a good bit of power and the more you have the smoother it should be on the screen, I know with a game like Injustice: God's Among Us for iOS I tried it on my iPhone and it did not work well at all, but that's very graphics heavy and takes a lot of power to play.
  21. Very nice. The Note 2 is too big for me personally but it is a great android phone for sure. With the iPhone 5 I can't say how the connectivity is on LTE obviously but on 3G it's definitely not the best with Sprint. On Verizon when I had a 4S with them it was pretty great but I will say the 5 is awesome when connected to WiFi, my connection is better than the android phones my friends have. On my 4S and 5 I had emulators for GBC, GBA, NES, SNES and Playstation as well. Just required jailbreaking it. Used my Apple TV (one of 3 I own, also jailbroken) and mirrored the phone to the TV and hooked up a Wii controller to it. Pretty fun playing the old games that way. But since I'm on the beta for iOS7 right now I can't do it with my phone anymore but my iPad is still jailbroken so I can do it that way. Yeah android allows more customization with everything, unless you jailbreak but like I said for me I'm more suited to Apple and I enjoy the simplicity of it all. But I still work with android phones a lot and there's some really great ones out there these days.
  22. Yeah that's pretty much the same, but there are easy ways around that. My take is to make specified folders for certain apps, makes everything neat and organized for me. You can make an app folder that can hold all the apps kind of like an app drawer if you want, I personally don't like that. There's a couple of really great features that are definitely influenced by android, jailbreak tweaks, and even windows phones. One in particular gives us a great way of sharing without having NFC that is more secure and no need to touch phones, and requires no data, it's called AirDrop. To see some of the new features check them out here. http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7/features/ It's pretty much the first major overhaul that Apple has done since the first iPhone.
  23. On Sprint's network that is true, though it will be fixed, the ONE to me is still a better phone overall.
