  1. Must be something wrong with my battery... I shouldn't be losing 20% every 2 hours in standby, it's crazy. I would love to get the extended battery but for some reason I don't want to get rid of my Sprint back plate. Currently I have 83% and my screen hasn't be on since I charged it about two hours ago.. - Nocturnal
  2. Ha! I'll be the first to admit the Galaxy Nexus's battery is bad. With the screen off and not in use my 100% drops to 80% within 2 hours.... And it's idle... - Nocturnal
  3. If you still aren't getting the update, stop and clear the google service frameworks in Settings - Apps - All. Followed by pulling the battery for 10 minutes or so, restart it and see if you get the update. If not, try the dial code. These updates are sent out in waves, sometimes you can pull them without being in the current wave. - Nocturnal
  4. Indubitably. Nashville speeds aren't that bad, Knoxville could use the upgrades first, lol. Sometimes in Farragut I can obtain 1.17 MBPS and in Knoxville (the city) it's pretty much 0.3 MBPS. - Nocturnal
  5. Was in Nashville yesterday, if this map is correct, I wish I would've postponed it by a month =( - Nocturnal
  6. Haha, I would agree. This update doesn't do much for normal users. The only new thing I have noticed is switching from WiFi to 3G is a little bit faster, but not by much. Sprint TV still won't download because it's not compatible. You can still try to get the update by stopping and clearing the google service frameworks in the App settings page, and dialing checkin. That's at least how I got some updates pushed to my HTC Sensation 4G when I had it.
  7. It checks the server for updates. Usually it works, but these Android patches roll out in waves.
  8. I received the update at 4:34 AM. Try doing a phone dial to checkin. + The search bar at the top no longer states "Google" in it anymore.
  9. I hope that map is lite up like a Christmas tree! Heres to false hope for Knoxville!
  10. The EVO 4G LTE operates on LTE 1900 and CDMA 800/850/1900 It will not be compatible with the 800MHz LTE network. I believe they said 800 MHz LTE will be deployed in about two years. Probably just in time for people coming out of their contracts.
  11. That's terrible. Ha, I hope I don't get it! Hopefully Jellybean will be out fast and fix some of these problems. The battery isn't that good on the Nexus I will agree 100% - Nocturnal
  12. My Nexus has been fine since I purchased it on the 25th. At first I was pretty upset that the phone didn't arrive in Knoxville til the 25th, but in my opinion it was worth it. I don't seem to have the data bug, everything seems fine. My last Stock experience was the G2X, and it was not good at all. But I held my lip and went for the GNEX and it was worth it. - Nocturnal
  13. It is from the World's Fair, now all they need to do is install a cellular tower on it.

    Jelly Bean

I figure from the picture nothing that big. Considering it might be called 4.1 I'm going to guess minor speed improvements, maybe a better way to update the os, you know, for companies like HTC who take 5 years to get out updates.. (evo 3d....) Google Voice already has the Do Not Disturb but it could make an entry. Eitherway, I'm excited for it.

    Jelly Bean

Not sure if anyone posted this here, but thought it was interesting and a hint at what will be coming hopefully on the 27th. http://www.engadget....-google-wallet/ Incase anyone thinks it's fake, if you go to the Google Play store and add the Galaxy Nexus, it does have a different wallpaper than normal. Heres hoping it comes out for Sprint fast!
  16. http://s4gru.com/ind...chedule-update/ shows that Sprint will most likely get it at mid 2012. Yes it's still a TBA thing but still it seems they are more prepared than T-Mobile is currently. T-Mobile will launch next year, and yes maybe they will launch in Houston, but you most consider two things, travelling and data limits. In the end I am willing to bet 100% on Sprint deploying first to Houston before T-Mobile. T-Mobile hasn't really stated that much on launch dates or anything, they are also considering 84 HSPA+ last time I checked (not sure if they are now). Most likely they will launch both 84HSPA+/LTE at the same locations at the same time. So a good idea is to look at the original launches for HSPA+ 42 and so on. The way Sprint has their LTE network setup, with deals from Clearwire and such I find it hard that T-Mobile a year later will catch up.
  17. In Houston? Sprint should have 4G up before T-Mobile and you will be able to get an unlimited data plan. In my views, who cares about 10 more mbps when you already have more than 10 anyways. And the Unlimited Data is a huge thing for people like me, if you don't use much than it's your choice.
  18. I have no doubt that T-Mobile's LTE will be faster, and probably will be faster by quite a big amount. But there are reason behind that. Simply because T-Mobile doesn't have as much customers as Sprint. They are also deploying it last, so they have a pretty good idea of what to do. I had T-Mobile before I switched, I loved the HSPA+ it was fast and I would say in my area just as good as LTE. Problem was the limited data plans. I went through that 5GB data plan like it was nothing. Once again, T-Mobile's LTE might be faster but the deployment on highways will never happen. On my way from New York City to Knoxville Tennessee, I never got a HSPA+ signal unless I was entering a major city. Heck I had 1G (GPRS) 65% of the time, and 2G 30%. The HSPA only covered (in my book) 5% of the ride. This was a ride that lasted for 12ish hours. T-Mobile basically forgot about 3G, anywhere there is 3G 4G covers it already, and I have only gotten a 3G signal 4 times on my T-Mobile phone in 11 months of travel. My brother would mock me as he had 3G from Sprint all across the highways... Sure you can enjoy fast speeds, but you lose them the second you leave a city. And if there was one thing I learned from T-Mobile it was: Cover cities before anyone else so we have a huge list of covered areas, but don't cover any of the highways. I also had problems with customer service, in which a representive told me to ETF. Just my 2 cents about T-Mobile. Take my advice about T-Mobile's speeds being faster on your own watch, for all I know, Sprint could blow us away and T-Mobile could launch with a slow LTE network. Just my guessing at work. =) Nocturnal
  19. Does anybody know if you can use HD on YouTube when you are in 4G. Because the HD button disappears when you are on 3G. If HD is on 4G, when it comes to Knoxville my usage is gonna be massive, lol.
  20. I got my Galaxy Nexus on launch and I was expecting a terrible camera. But I was actually happy with it, it's easily on par with my old Sensation 4G. The thing that surprised me was when I took a picture and I was able to zoom in really far into the photo, the best part is, is that I can actually see stuff when zoomed in as well. If someone is making the next Nexus it's probably gonna be Samsung or LG. After my G2X experience, I hope it's Samsung. Considering that I just bought this one, I hope the next Nexus after the one coming out this year will be time-exclusive to Sprint.. haha
