  1. The turnaround is happening and with the whole "2.5G!" thing starting to pick up steam in the media, Sprint & those 8T8R deployments are gonna look awfully good. Cyclically, they'll poach customers from TMO/VZW/ATT with a superior network and value proposition.

Perceptions won't change overnight, but when NV1.0 & NV2.0 are fully deployed and tuned (with that large native roaming footprint!), watch out. If Claure has freedom to operate, with Masa's backing, Sprint could charge way far ahead.

Sprint has a ways to go to change perception but things are turning around daily.

  2. Well those that advertise the most, must be the best. Just like how if it's printed on the internet it must be true.

This is why I also say to try it for yourself and not base a decision based on what you read. Really you aren't losing much going from T-Mobile to Sprint. Partly I blame the media for making the average consumer think that you need 30+ Mbps to stream music and stuff on your phone.

  3. I'm a proud customer of Sprint. There was some doubts when I first made my switch from Verizon. I've had nothing but great experiences since I've made the change. I get service everywhere I go. I've even had service in places where my wife on Verizon couldn't even get a signal.

The bottom line is you can only satisfy yourself. Everyone had different needs and wants. I love the fact that Sprint phones aren't branded to death. I get essay to configure Google Voice and great customer support over the phone.

I'm convinced that a lot of the negativity comes from old disgruntled customers and lines who drank the T-Mobile kool aid.

I fully agree with you.  She was with Verizon but then switched to T-Mobile. I told her that you can go by what those articles are saying because they written by people who are highly biased and the comments are from people who had Sprint back in 2007 and still haven't gotten over it. But I did say she needs to do whats best for her.

  4. With the introduction of the new plans Sprint has announced. I told one of my friends about the $60 unlimited plan and she was shocked yet happy about it. She currently has T-Mobile and there has been times where my Sprint service has out performed her service even in the city with puling up information and out of town...well... you already know how that went. She was talking about switching and stuff but then she sent me a typical article bashing Sprint and I got irritated by it and I had to explain to her that Sprint is not bad at all. These articles are based on past experiences from 3+ years ago. I told her I'm pulling 60+ mbps on LTE but she's worried about Sprint being slow ( because of what she read). Guys give me some advice on persuading her to give Sprint a chance.

I feel like articles that are being posted is what keeps away customers.  It makes no sense that T-Mobiles 2g network is not spoken about when they are in the news for changes to plans and such. But good ol Sprint makes changes and articles that get posted rips Sprint apart for filth.

  5. I wondered this as well. I'm currently on the Unlimited my way plan and after hearing about the $60 unlimited plan, I was thinking about pulling the plug and getting this new plan. But I think I will just keep my current plan...Guess its a reassurance to have that guarantee but even with the new plan I don't see Sprint forcing no one off that plan 5 or 6 years from now tbh.

  6. I admire T-mobile but apart of me feels that everything that he does (lately which has been promo perks) is to ensure people don't sign up and then leave once they find the holes in the network ( as with all carriers, some more than others). It looks like now he's being backed into a wall (unlike a year ago when this was fresh and new)  by the other 3 as they adjust their plans and bring rates down and that makes people question why T-Mobile when I can go to Verizon, Sprint or AT&T for around the same price.

The fuel in T-mobile is slowly running out so if giving things away is what they need to do to mask up their network imperfections then by all means have at it.

But as I always say to some of the diehard T-Mobile/Sprint/Verizon/ AT&T fans. Can we all just get along and enjoy our respective service??

  7. I hope they announce the new individual plan tomorrow ( crossing fingers for the $50 rumored plan). I have already convinced three of my friends who have T-Mobile to convert over. I think what sealed that deal was we were out to eat today and all three of them had problems loading a webpage about ALS and I pretty much loaded that same page effortlessly.  Oh and they saw the light when we were out of town driving to Dayton OH and they hit edge and I had LTE.

  8. This guy is about making moves and wasting no time doing so. I'm liking this guy by the day. I wonder what the meeting with apple was about concerning sprint???

  9. I'd still prefer they meet their advertised speeds (5-8 down). My benchmark for a network is being able to stream music during my entire commute without stuttering, while I'm reading text based news at the same time, at 1-2 down, this tends not to work. If Sprint can do that and keep my framily plan at $25 + $20, I'll be happy. They can't do it in San Francisco, and they can almost do it in Oakland. When I go back to Chicago in the fall, I'm relatively certain I should be able to do it, but we'll see.

While I do agree but I as long as I can stream Spotify, hop on Vine, Instagram and surf the web with ease I'm fine. Now I do conduct speed tests here and there, I do question if the results are accurate only because I am able to stream Spotify on high quality with no problems on LTE and 3G and my speed tests that Ive done barely hit 3mbps in my area on LTE.

  10. I think the tech blogs had their stories ready "Sprint loss millions of customers" and now they are like oh $hit they actually did well.

I agree I think this a slight turning point for sprint. Personally I feel they don't need tmobile but the jury is out on that.

I agree 100%. The stories were queued up last night.
