  1. Any news in the Tomahawk area as far as how the updates are going? We have a cottage in the Little Rice/Lake Nokomis area and reception is terrible. I have to stand in the middle of our driveway in order to even make a call and half the time I can hear the other party fine, but they can't hear me. Even texts are delayed in getting to my phone.

Be fair, that whole area has a cell blocking spell on it. :P

I used to run that area daily for work and never had a phone work right from any carrier. Something to do with not allowing towers in most areas, and lack of backhaul availability.

  2. I live in freedom and my signal is terrible. I lose 3G continuously my husband returned his iPhone 5 before his 30 days was up. Does Seymour have 3G? I was there in Seymour last Thursday and no 4g

I'm not entirely convinced its the network. I have a Galaxy S3 and sn iPhone 5 on 2 seperate Sprint lines. My iPhone drops data at any hint of a wind gust. My s3 will hold it fine.

I've had 2 iPhone 5's and they both do this. My 4S never did.

  3. Does anyone out there have any news for Appleton / Fox valley? We get little to no data, a lot of dropped calls and pushed to the extended network. I'm trying to hold out but after the storms the other day and really needing data I think for safety as well as fun reasons I might pay the ETL and go with Verizon. If you reply thanks

I'm getting LTE by Winneconne, and service by 76 and Jackson is moving faster.

I haven't had any dropped calls or data problems around Appleton though, aside from some minor slowdowns.

That storm did some damage, there may be towers down by you.

  4.

What really jerks my chain with AT&T is they say use wifi, then cap home DSL at 150gb, with no real way to check usage. Then, charge overages.

    Talk about a racket!

They should have a very easy to monitor usage system if they are going to charge you for any overage IMO.

They don't. It even says in the fine print on their tracker it could be 5-7 days before the tracker catches up with usage. It pretty much guarantees overages.

  5. If I was forced to shop for a carrier and consider limits , how much do I need.

I use a little email and sometimes a utube video but lots of audio streaming.

How do I calculate how much data I will use on LTE for I-Heart radio 8 hours per day , 5 days a week?

    thanks

Oh, I'm getting a driving job so I can't use my past usage as a guide.

That's what I do, but add GPS, and substitute Pandora. I'm running 10gb per month on that line.

    I'm an LTL truck driver.

  6. This is Japan we're talking about, not North Korea. I thought we were really tight with Japan over the last 50 years?

I'd be far more worried about the UK, just due to the seeming desire they have to want to watch "the colonies" fail.

They didn't seem concerned about Vodafone and Verizon. And doesn't Level 3 have significant backing out of European investors?
