  1. Hey guys, good news. I woke up this morning (I live on the corner of Econ and Lee Vista) and I had a great LTE signal... looks like Sprint turned one of the towers on that was completed. I mapped the area around my apartment complex and Lee Vista, and will map more after work. I mapped a good 350 points on Lee Vista all the way to Narco and the 528 that should show up on Sensorly soon. Extremely excited, I had the following speeds inside of my place:
  2. Spring is almost over... we'll see if Sprint actually launches LTE in Orlando before Summer hits. Outside of the areas that I've seen LTE for a few months now, I've yet to see it light up in any new areas.
  3. Oh ok, so the Dean and Curry Ford is done just hasn't been turned on yet. Boy that tower is HUGE, I think it'd have a lot of coverage once on. It'd pretty much fill the gap between the Avalon tower for UCF/Vista Lakes area... can't wait.
  4. Very nice to see more and more areas light up... can't wait for the tower near Curryford and Dean to light up, it is a huge tower and I am sure it will have a lot of reach.
  5. This would make me so happy... that tower is huge so I am assuming it would have good coverage and I live literally 2 miles from it... where did you get this info?
  6. I have to say, after spending a weekend in Tampa I have no IDEA wtf is going on in Orlando. While I got absolutely no LTE anywhere in Tampa (I was close to the airport and downtown), the 3G there is incredible (relatively speaking). I was getting 1.5mb pretty much everywhere and I was able to ACTUALLY use data on my phone w/o having to sit and wait for things to load. WOW, not sure if the backhaul in Tampa is set and going strong but it would sure seem so as the speeds there are great. Makes data speeds in Orlando look even more horrendous... come on Sprint lets get some LTE to the West side of Orlando already! SIck of these slow speeds.
  7. Thanks for this, as much as I'd like to be angry at the birds they were probably here long before humans were so gotta let them do their thing... we already destroy enough animal habitat as it is, this must be their way of payback! LOL
  8. I live near the intersection of 528 and 417, and I probably get the most decent 3G speeds here than anywhere else in town. That said, when I work from home sometimes I'll notice consistent 3G speeds of 1.5-2mbps down. As SOON as rush hour hits, the speeds drop dramatically to what you're getting. Around 10pm, they jump back up. I doubt it's usually anything to do with "upgrades", probably tower usage... That said I could be grossly wrong.
  9. You can't map with an iPhone, only an Android device. I hit LTE (didn't have a chance to do a speed test) on Dean and University.. mapped it on Sensorly. Not sure if it was already mapped previously but it died off a bit before Highway 50... I also mapped a bit on Econ and Highway 50 but the speeds were really slow and it didn't last long.
  10. I feel your pain... in most of the city I don't really use much data because of how slow it is. Usually I end up frustrated and just put my phone down. I have faith in Sprint, hopefully in a few months this will be a distant memory.
  11. Hang in there! I used to feel your pain when I was close to the FL Mall area with horrible 3G speeds. Lately, I've been seeing 1mb down at a minimum with like 1.5 as a max and it has made life a little better. Still was hoping to see some LTE love more in the City of Orlando, but who knows when that starts becoming more of a reality in terms of exact time.
  12. I was able to map a bit of LTE signal on Econ coming up to 50. Faint signal, it probably would be stronger if I kept going towards University but I had to turn onto 50 towards downtown, at which point I lost signal.
  13. Makes sense. I loved most things about my EVO, outside of the connection issues. I have a week or two before i need to send either back so ill be testing out the GS3, if it does in fact work better ill have to send my EVO back. Sometimes Sprint really impresses me with taking care of customers, they listened to the complaint and actually offered a reasonable solution.
  14. I contacted Sprint recently to state the trouble I had connecting to 4G in 4G markets with my EVOLTE, they were nice enough to send me a replacement GS3 to use. That said, last night, before I received the GS3 I did a 3g speed test in my house. Like usual, I was at like .45mbps DL and .3mbps UL. I just did it in the exact same spot with the GS3, and the speeds were 1.5mbps DL and .6mbps UL. Could it be possible the EVOLTE radios are that bad? or could it simply mean my EVOLTE just had bad radios? I am blown back at the difference.
  15. I had that happen to me a week or two ago, seems like within a day it went back to normal reading eHRPD... I would also make sure you're network type is set to LTE/CDMA as if that is set to CDMA only it will read EVDO Rev. A
  16. If no one else does, I live close enough to hit that up this weekend... My phone has yet to see any LTE in Orlando, would be nice to "pop" that cherry.
