Been having a glitch with the status bar icon not showing connected to band41. Sometimes it'll show it connected to lte41 sometimes it'll stay stuck on lte only. Using a note 4. lte discovery shows its connected to b41
-
Is CA only for the same band or can it also do all 3 bands together?

Band 41 has been down for 2 weeks around seaport. But it seems like they are "optimizing" band 25. I usually can not get anything more than .25 mbps but I have been hitting over 3mbps these few days. Nothing to write home about but better than before

Seems like b41 speeds are going down the drain lately.. can barely get over 5 mbps.. reminds me of wimax

I believe that too... recently when connected to b41 I don't hit over 5 mbps but I used to always hit over 15mbps easily. This happens for both my work place and at home. All clear sites according to SCPI do believe Sprint is doing some sort of artificial throttling on B41 sites. For a short period of time I was averaging btwn 4-8mbs, then they enabled another B41 site and all of a sudden my speeds were back to normal 20-30mbs.
Right now my speeds seem capped at about 8mbs only on certain sites.
Maybe shared backhaul? Definitely no longer a congested site, so could be optimizations going on. Hopefully MIMO/CA testing.

Could be both. all I know is I was never without band41 here ranging from 14mbps to 21mbps

Seems like they are doing something with the towers near seaport. Not connecting to band 41 at all. Only band 25
-
It's not only during peak hours...pretty much almost everywhere in NYC is overburdened on b25...less than .5mbpsExcept in metro areas. Band 25 is a disaster in probably all metro areas during peak hours.

That's like the issue I'm having too. Although if I keep the connection active by streaming a video or music, the connection stays active for as long as it keeps streaming. but if it goes idle with no activity it drops to 3g..sometimes it has problems staying connected to 3g also!New issue started today. I fear it is a hardware problem. I can't keep a stable LTE connection. Using Signal Checker my LTE signal is still great and should be fine to stay on it, but whenever I turn on the phone, toggle airplane mode etc... It will keep an active LTE connection for about one minute. I start a streaming music app to see if I can keep the connection going, but it does not keep going. After about a minute the LTE and Spark icon go gray and then the app buffers because it has no signal then it reverts to 3G. Happens every time. Called customer care and they say there is no outages in my area. I have not tried at home yet but at work it doesn't keep a LTE signal. I am in the Atlanta area. They are supposed to have a technician call me in 72 hours to see if I still have an issue.
I'm outside the 15 day return window for Best Buy, so I'm not sure they will exchange the phone for a new one. I have tried updating profile and PRL, they sent a refresh from Sprint's end also and it did not fix it.
Any thought?
The only thing I have not done yet is factory reset. I may do that tomorrow if I still am having issues.

Maybe they're upgrading the towers to 8t8r [emoji3]Sure......The Note is making me a lair now.
Since posting that, it has stayed on LTE. But I am not doing anything with the device and yet that Spark icon continues to spin out of control. lol
Not for nothing, but that spinning Walmart wannabe icon sure is annoying.
Actually since I've gotten the phone it only happened once for about an hour a couple of days ago, but today it really is acting up.

Same here but it's not just today..been going since I got the phone..Something is going on with the Note 4 today.
The Samsung Mega is connected to LTE, but the Note 4 keeps dropping out of LTE, so it can't be the sites near me at work.
hmmmm

I live 2 blocks away from Luna park and never gotten those speeds with my nexus 5. But very nice!Sheapsheadbay , Luna park

I have a G3, and its radio is superior to the Nexus 5 with latest radio. It would sadden me to hear that the Note 4's RF performance leaves something to be desired.
agreed... waited 2 years on the note 2 for the 4 ....skipped the 3 cause it didn't have spark.. hope it does better with a new radio. thats the only thing thats holding the note 4 from becoming great..atleast for me
-
Cannot account for indoor performance, but outdoor should be solid LTE almost everywhere in NYC, except small pockets.
yeah I think its just the note 4's radio that needs optimizing cause my nexus 5 was incredible
-
I got the note 4 which is jumping around 3g and b25 and 26 and 41 nonstop ...previously had nexus 5 which death gripped b41

Which part is considered lower brooklyn? So jelly...wish my area had that kind of speedThese are speeds I'm getting in lower brookyn. Triband or go home...

Same here but it was doing that before the new prl on my note 4been doing it all day here, the icon pops up, signal check pro whistles, then goes blank, next thing you know its whistling again, lol

Same here...my note 4 fluctuates between band 25 and band 26 at home and never connects to band 41 where I used to connect to band41 all the time. My nexus 5 is activated on my gfs line and we would be in the same spot and hers will be connected to band41 the whole time but the note will jump all over the place. At home I'm mostly in the computer room on the 2nd floor of my house and on the Mega I get a constant LTE signal, but the tower closet to my home seems to have been acting up for the last few days which is why I get on wifi at home lately, Regardless I do get a constant RSRP -94 dBm signal on the Mega as per Signalcheck pro.
On the Note it fluctuates. it goes from pic 1 to pic 2 and pic 3.

At work I have no problem, although I do get a stronger signal from the Mega.
Honestly I didn't notice any lag. It wasn't until adding the wanam module and checking on the circle battery setting that the lag started. It went all berserk and slow. After which I reversed my steps and removed it. The lag stopped, I then re-installed wanam but didn't do the circle battery and so far no issues in the lag dept.
What's the link to that thread on xda about xposed with the issues?
TS.
At work it jumps from band 41 to 3g all the time..again my nexus 5 will stay connected to band 41 the whole day..the funny thing is if I start streaming videos when I'm on b41 it won't disconnect but as soon as it's idle for a few seconds it drops to 3g
Hopefully a new update with a new modem will fix it ...

Have you had any issues with connecting to band41? I can't seem to connect to it no more in the same places I used to get it all day on my nexus 5..it's been mostly camping on band 25 which is around .5mbpsWell as of this moment it is 2 1/2 days with the Note 4 and I have to say it is really really nice. Although I knew it was nice since I had about an hour of hands time with it and the Note Edge in Best Buy earlier in the month. But an hours time of hands on use is totally different than when one uses it as a daily driver. That is when one can really appreciate the device in full force.
I had to skipped the Note 3 last year since it wasn't tri-band and went for the Mega. But while I love the screen size of the Mega, I really missed the S-Pen. So my only comparison of the Note 4 was with the Note 2 I previously had and this Note totally blows it away. (The same with the Mega).
Day 1
As I mentioned earlier in a post, I couldn't connect to LTE from the get go. The Mega was connecting fine. So I had to reprovision the device on the orders of Sprint customer care. After that it worked fine.
I played around with the settings and features and there are way to many to take in at once, but in a way i am glad they are there in case I need them. Touchwiz (while I never really had an issue with it) seems fine. Although I am not sure if I like the new colors. Haven't noticed any lag even though new Samsung phones don't lag until you start adding too much stuff. So far, I've been adding non-root apps and no issues. I left it off the charger overnight to see how much i would lose by morning. I love that I can remove a ton of apps without root. Taking pictures is neat even though I forgot to take the plastic cover on the rear lens until later at night.
Day2
Battery life is surprising good. I had set the WhiteNoise app (that plays sounds to make me go to sleep) all night and in the morning I had still 90 %. After going for a day on stock, I decided to root the device and that went quick. I then started to add my root apps, (signal check pro, titanium backup, xposed and wanam, etc etc). It was then that I noticed a massive lag when choosing the app drawer. Everythng else was fine. Come to find out that it was the battery setting in wanam that was causing it. After reinstalling it, everything is back to normal.
The only issues I have is I am still trying to get used to the controls at the bottom, Samsung changed them (menu is now recent apps) and I also have to learn the new multi-window to floating app settings.
