  1. Tampa is having ecsfb issues. I was there last week a couple times and had to force lte to get lte due to B26 ecsfb.

I didnt know b26 caused the ecsfb issues. no wonder i was stuck in 3g for two weeks were i used to get great LTE signal.

  2. i have two coworkers with the N5, all we did for them is enable B26 and do a profile update to get on B26 initially, ever since then it connects on its own, based on the network putting it there or not. neither one of them are rooted or running different radios then the stock one, .23.

I've had all bands enabled for a months, but havent updated the profile in a while. I did that and just picked up b26. My speeds went from 5 mbs to 28 down 8 up =)

however, it seems that after a few mins it goes back and forward to b25 and the slower speeds :(

  3. Are all people having LTE issues in Band 41 markets? Is it possible your device sees the Band 41 site and not allowing you to connect to Band 25 LTE?

I'm in Tampa which is one of the 5 Spark roll out cities and my LTE is working great no issues at all.

  4. I noticed last night that using WiFi tethering uses significantly less battery than it did with my GS3.  Sitting in the same spot with tethering running for 3 hours to my MacBook I went from 88% charge to 65%.  Using the GS3 in the same scenario I would lose about 50-60% battery life.  Not sure what component the difference can be attributed to (WiFi radio, LTE radio, etc) but it was a very pleasant surprise.

You got that to work? it keeps telling me that it started with errors and asking me if im rooted (i am)

  5. Ahhh lets get some signal strength comparisons up! That's where the magic is at!

I'm going to see if I can scrounge up the cash to get one of these bad boys. Would like a good RF performer to replace my EVO LTE.

I'm getting about 8db better than my old evo lte

  6. got mine in the mail today, tried the IMEI and sim and it worked, but at the end it told me to click on chat to finish activating.

through chat i got crap like this:

Lynn C.: Please contact the source of purchase and get a replacement phone with Sprint logo and that can be activated with Sprint services and we will activate it for you.
You: this is a sprint phone. you guys have it on your website. Please check with your supervisor there was information sent out about the nexus 5
Lynn C.: Edgar, yes, you are right, we are also offering this phone on our website and it is available for pre-order. Please note that as you have purchased this phone from Google Play Store they might have provided you a phone that is related to some other service provider like AT&T, Verizon. Please understand that each phone is related to some service provider and can only be activated with their services only.
Lynn C.: That's why I request you to contact them and get a phone related to Sprint services so that we can activate that on your account.
Lynn C.: If you wish, you can also contact our dedicated Technical Support Team at 1-888-211-4727 and they will help you with it.
You: there is only one version of this phone. This phone is sprint compatible.

  7. Correct, it unlocks the bootloader only.

Once the bootloader is unlocked, you can leave it completely stock unrooted, push an appropriate recovery and/or root, or use an auto-root program/script.

It is better to unlock it first even if you don't plan to root, so you don't have the hassle of unlocking it later and have to completely reset it after you get it all set up.

Thanks for clearing that up from me :)

If you are stock rooted and Google pushes out an update do you still get the auto update even though you are rooted? And if so, so you get to keep root?

    Thanks =)

  8. You guys might be forgetting the most important thing to do besides the sim;

    fastboot oem unlock

don't forget, this will erase the phone, so do it first for least hassle.

That unlocks the bootloader bit doesn't give you root correct? I saw an auto root chainfire had posted on Google plus. So do this then the root app?

  9. I activated an HTC One on my account using the sim card that was previously activated on someone else's account.

I'm guessing you bought the HTC one used? It makes sense that you could reuse a sim card. Otherwise if you bought a used phone that had a sim, but your old phone did not how else would you activate it.

Plan B: Go back to a different sprint repair store and tell them I need a replacement for my malfunctioning GS4 Sim and I left the phone back home =P

  10. I was able to get a micro sim from a returned S4 at a sprint store. The t chance said it's probably not going to work since it's probably it's to that account. Is that true? Any way around that?

Rest of longer story. So I went to a sprint repair place after calling to make sure they had a micro sim I could get. I get there and their story is that they don't have any that are not tied to a phone. I give them the SKU and they say that a store 30 mins away has 25 of them. So I call them up and they are clueless saying they don't sell them and can only replace one of its malfunctioning.

  11. The problem with cutting a 2FF SIM down is that it may not authenticate LTE since those aren't LTE SIM cards.

what about a micro sim from an iphone 4s? those are micro but not LTE? ( i might be able to get a hold of one.

  12. Standard SIM is 1FF

    Mini SIM is 2FF

    Micro SIM is 3FF

    Nano SIM is 4FF

You need a 3FF to work in a Nexus 5. My order is for a CZ2102LWR REMOVABLE 3FF USIM GSMLTE

    Robert

Crop, they ordered me the wrong one. I'm getting a 2FF. I'm guessing it'll still work if I just cut it down?
  13. We have Sprint Sim Cats at Best Buy but we will charge you for them probably unless you are getting the phone through us.

how much would they be? just asking in case i have a hard time getting a hold of one on Monday when my phone gets in.

  14. As long as it's the Qi standard it will work fine. There's about a dozen different ones on the market. Some better than others.

Would getting a $18 cheap one off ebay do any harm to the phone? i'm not too trilled by wireless charging, but under $20 i'll consider it since i'd get two (one for work and home)

  15. I just bought a 16GB white one!

    Robert

when you go to google wallet to check your receipt does your order show up as "pending" i tried to use my american express but it got denied due to fraud prevention and had to change the funding source to my debit card. idk if it should be showing pending or if its doing that since i changed the funding source.

    Thanks :)
