the additional mapping i did on sensorly is now visible, for that tower near Packers. I tried to take the signal as far as i could in each direction. Im surprised how small the coverage is from this site. its pretty close to line of sight on 1st a E washington and i could not get a signal there. granted i have an EVO and it sucks holding a signal, but Im hoping once the others around it are turned on they might turn up the power on that one a bit!? Also, I noticed as i was driving to that tower that i held the signal from the one near 30 & 51 all the way to where 30 hits packers, so that tower appears to have a much greater range than the one that was just turned on. Hopefully that one will be turned on sooner than later to paint a big portion of the east side purple!

Ok, so i did a bunch of sensorly mapping at that tower near demetral fields, hopefully that shows up shortly. Speed test got me between 9 and 13 mb down. Also went out to the tower at 30/90-94 I see 4g equipment, but doesn't look like the ones I've seen pics of. Would be interested to hear your guys two cents.

unless someone just happened to catch it during a testing period? I had to run to the grocery store after work so ill just head to the one over there and do some mapping. Keep an eye out sometime after 5 on sensorly.... also, it was too dark last night to take pictures so, next time im in the area of those other two towers here on the East/SE side, ill try and get some pictures

if they snuck the equipment up there w/o me noticing, im going to be pissed cuz that would have been like one of the first ones done in madison back this spring since the permit was for may and no testing has been done.... like ive said previously, ive had a close eye on that tower

I might be able to get a picture from on top of the hill behind it....hard to do without looking creepy though! lol I am headed down that way this evening, ill try to grab a picture of one or both those if there is enough light.

Yes, if you search the month of may, you will find it...

both my work and home tower is that tricky one on high crossing blvd. pretty sure sprint is the only one on top of that building. problem is that only a foot or so of the top of the antennae is visible. thats why i was asking about people with pictures of ones mounted on a horizontal surface (roof) rather than a vertical one (building wall or tower). Not sure if that RRU is going to visible from the ground.

Great find! now the question is....just because a tower had a permit cleared in May, does that mean the work has been done since then?! Makes me really want to go to the one closest to my house and see if the number of antennae matches the permit!

correction, that one off Sigglekow may in fact be done. i just texted him about that tower and he said he had 5 bars and full 4g for a short time last night off the SE corner of the golf course, so it must be upgraded and in testing! Having been to his place many times, the fact there is any reception whatsoever there means they they are getting close. I usually cant even pull roaming signals there! The Madison area is flying right now!

I dont think anything has happened at the one off Sigglekow, have a buddy over that direction keeping an eye on that tower and Im sure i would have heard something if that one had been started. Ill tell him to take a close look tonight...

How many times do we have to go around in circles about this? Yes, prior to NV, the 3g sucked. There have been significant improvements made since they started rolling out NV updates all over Madison and Wisconsin in largeas we have seen in the past few months. Think about the scale of what Sprint is doing!? LTE is on the way and many towers, all over Madison, have been updated per mmark27's reports while documenting changes at many of these towers, they just need to be turned on whether that be due to backhaul, testing, or timing. And the beltline does have work done to it if you look at the completed maps site in the sponsors area and the sensorly map. Much of the reason you arent seeing 4g is due to the phone you have, and personally, feel your pain on the evo as I am in the same boat. So tired of people complaining when its easy to see how much progress has been made by looking at a couple different sources, not to mention a sprint tower to see if there is new equipment on it!

Im with Mmark27 below....all signs are pointing in the right direction. No reason not to believe that october date. They have made good progress so far as proven by all all of his pictures and updates as well. We knew it wouldnt be overnight, im glad we are still seeing progress made and still getting new pieces of information to formulate these theories with!

We should be blazing fast there once they get those east side towers done, just hang in there!

Nothing has been done to the tower nearest the mall, so unfortunately, its just that slow still...

I was having 3g speed issues here off american parkway yesterday as well. been keeping an eye on park bank but still not seeing anything...

agreed, i think that park bank siteis nearly line of sight to that sprint store, interesting that it wouldve been picking up that stoughton road tower. or it could be because penetration into that building isnt very good either as it is partially underground.

I would think it would be the one on park bank as thats less than a mile away, but there has been nothing going on there at all from what i can see. i look at that building on a daily basis and havent seen any updates taking place.
