This is what happens when:
A: A 4G tower bursts into flames
B: A 4G tower is overloaded
C: Sprint decides to start messing with me
D: A 4G tower doesn't actually have backhaul yet.
Wonder which?
(image below since Sprint is being difficult tonight)

You mean a cell tower fire like this one in Sanford today?

Will the Clearwire towers be upgraded to Sprint LTE? There were workers on the tower at Alafaya and Research Pkwy today. They magically disappeared with first crack of lightning though... I wonder why... LOL! I dont envy them their job at all!

I'm here!!! My speed test at Lk Underhill and Rouse Rd today:

It's possible, every few days or so I've found over here that they turn LTE off and then it'll come back on a day or so later.
I have seen that too. It was up today though, I mapped some points in front of the post office this morning.

I was in Maitland this afternoon, just off 17-92. These were my speeds inside a building.

The tower at Lk Underhill and Alafaya is up and running. I mapped a small section on Lk Underhill, the road that goes behind Lowes and BJs and behind the businesses on Alafaya down to Curry Ford. Nice dark purple is showing up on Sensorly.

There was some work going on at the tower on Lk Underhill and Alafaya. I couldnt see where the truck was from though.
I was able to map a good dot where Rouse, Lk Underhill and the 408 come together.

friend of mine sent me this from her phone last night from the Walmart on E. Colonial, check out that LTE goodness!
So close, and yet, so far...

Whoa!!! "Speedy" LTE in the UCF area today!!! ...and that was going to the server in Hollywood, FL!

When Orlando grows up to be like the Miami Beach area, this is what our speeds will look like.

All I know that will be happening on Monday is that the Sprint/Nextel iDEN network will be shut off for good.

Lets hope it's all LTE rollout. On Monday we should all expect LTE and excellent signal in Orlando.
Do you know something or is this just wishful thinking?

Lol that was on LTE?
Yes! LOL!

My 4G speed in the UCF area today! Whooosh!!!
-
Data rates in the UCF/WaterfordLakes area have been horrible today! Hopefully that means they are working on the towers.

Why is it that places that have previously been mapped in Sensorly as having a good signal, there is no signal now?
-
I just mapped from Satellite Beach to Port Canaveral along A1A. 4 bars steady the whole way.

I usually cant get any LTE south of 50 on Alafaya. It seems to end right at the Bahama Breeze.
-
Data speeds in the UCF area have been horrible since yesterday. Hopefully that means work is being done and not an overtaxed tower or problems in the area.
-
I have never had any luck with tower locator apps. The towers are never in the correct locations. I am in the same general area as the previous post and have not connected to lee vista either
-
Also getting 0.5-2mbps download and less than 1mbps upload on Alafaya from the tower west of Quadrangle. Looks like that tower has a lot more potential left to go before the entire UCF area gets full coverage.
Also sorry for doing this in multiple replies. I can't edit posts on mobile for some reason lol
How do you determine which tower the signal is coming from?
I saw a worker up on a crane on the tower at Chickasaw and 408, right behind Florida Hospital East at about 3:00 PM today.

I finally got a 4G/LTE phone and tried mapping Sensorly from 417 at Curry Ford to Semoran and 50 via the 408 and then back on 408 to the Research Park area. I got 0 4G points. So far, I have seen very responsive switching between 3G and 4G with this phone (Galaxy S4). What is going on??? Did they turn everything off???
-
The Sprint Galaxy S4 will be available for pre-order tomorrow. Too bad the 4G network is not fully up and running...
-
Western Towers or Westower Communications?
It could have been Westower, hard to read when driving by the trucks.
