  1. From the article that kg4icd posted, though I may have read it incorrectly, it stated that Apple wants two suppliers of chipsets (Qualcomm and Intel) and only Qualcomm can deliver at this time. My interpretation of the article is that Apple will not move forward without having two suppliers. I believe Apple should press Intel's development team to catch up or fall to the wayside. Providers are in the beginning stages of delivering gigabit speeds. Should a phone that is not scheduled for release until Fall of 2017 not be able to provide that?
  2. I should have given more detail. If I am outside at the street, I am receiving a b41 signal of -111db, On the first floor of my home, i only get b26. I have not checked upstairs to see if I am getting a b41 signal.
  3. True. Just wonder what the requirements Sprint has to qualify. I do have two b41 sites within a mile of my home but cannot connect to a usable signal due to topography.
  4. Disappointing that Apple again is not pushing the envelope with technology. I feel they should either go solely with Qualcomm or inform Intel to step up their development if Apple is dedicated to two suppliers. I do not understand Apple's supplier contracts. if a supplier cannot meet your market needs, you go with the one or the ones that can. Simple economics. Apple's lack of initiative in the short term does hurts them as seen with the flat results in the market. With their long term vision to deploy upgraded models every year does help to an extent for those who need the latest and greatest when they arrive. If they know that normal phone buyers will hold on to their phones for three years, make the phone very enticing where more people will want it. But again, what will be missing from the next iPhone in the 2018 release? Who knows...
  5. Same here. With late summer being mentioned for shipping, may we will get the latest updated box?
  6. It is always a quandary on data services and providing those to customers. We all know about the complaints of poor service but when a solution is offered, it is frowned upon. Either these customers will have to decide that their phone data services will be poor and stop complaining about data connections or allow the companies to provide the services they need regardless for the appearance.
  7. Still awaiting a response from Sprint. I am guessing with the overwhelming demand, it may delay responses for requests as well?
  8. I will be driving through your neck of the woods Wednesday night to have an extended Memorial weekend at Lake Martin. I have not been since October. Sprint at that time had no coverage on the south end of the lake. Hopefully with the new agreements Sprint has in place, there will be some coverage that is not Extended 1X. We do have wifi through Troy Cable, which is antiquated (best speed to purchase is 20dn/2up), but with the amount of people that will be there over the weekend, the speeds will slow tremendously to the point of not being able to stream any programs.
  9. I believe you would find b41 in Auburn but it has been six months since I have been there.
  10. Still waiting for a call or email. Sent information on Tuesday morning.
  11. I sent my information this morning requesting a magic box. With the response you received, it makes me wonder if Sprint will approve. I have two b41 towers within a mile (straight line) of my home but due to topography, I am not able to connect to a b41 signal. I live on the downslope of a hill, 8% grade at one point, with many large trees in the direction of one tower, then homes and large trees from another direction. I believe due to these circumstances, I am not able to receive a b41 signal inside my home. Checking the signal strength inside this morning, I have -108 on b25 and (if the phone switches channels) -114 on b26. Data speeds and ping times are decent. The last test I completed was connected to b25. Ping was 48. download was 9.88 with upload at 0,87. Just have to wait and see...
  12. From what I am reading, the magic box needs to connect to a sprint signal in order to work. Is this correct? If so, does it have better reception than a phone? The place I currently have my Airave is approximately 25 miles (straight line) from the nearest upgraded towers in Auburn, Alabama.
