  1. Ok I used the wrong wording. I apologize. I keep forgetting that 99.9% of the users here are much smarter in the mobile area then I am. So the way I took it is they have already started to move sprint frequencies and resources to the new T-Mobile so the sprint side is getting over congested. Again I’m sorry for saying throttling I was explaining to my wife and oldest child which do not understand all the technical things and it just carried over to my post

  2. I live in metro Detroit and it feels like I am now being throttled with my sprint SIM card. Twitch won’t play anymore unless I am connected to WiFi, I keep getting connection issues using my bank app, and Amazon . Those are other apps that won’t run properly. My wife and 17 year old are also having issues with different apps/web. All our iPhones are up to date and have been restarted. Just curious if anyone else is also having issues

  3. So I am in the market for a new wireless router. The details about network usage and other details. The house is a ranch home with basement. The router will need to be in the basement. There are 3 mmo gamers in my house, but my computer and my wife's will be connected by ethernet cable. I would prefer to have wireless access outside with or without a booster or access point.

Now I would like to use a VPN router but with the mmo I play, does not support its players using a VPN, and the authentication servers will always think someone is trying to hack my account and force me to reset my password all the time and enter an authentication code. So the major question with a VPN router is can I disable the use of VPN side of the router when playing my mmo?

Any and all opinions are welcome.

    Thanks for your time,

    Luumi

I've been on the fence about picking one up...how does Netflix look on it? Sorry if I missed this one...don't think I've seen any reviews on that here.

Netflix looks really good on it.

FYI on root. root is out now on xda http://tinyurl.com/pjwb9ph

  4. Very interesting thread and it's amusing to see the panic of many.  Sprint has not typically forced people to move to new plans for some time after removing old plans and I'm not sure why many assume it will be different this time.  Additionally as long as both the base price and data package are discountable my bill would basically not change (single line.)  The only thing I would lose (if eventually forced to switch) is 200mb of roaming which is not an issue since I leave data roaming disabled unless I really need it.

The base price is not discountable only the data package is

  5. Hi does anyone have the signal app from cydia. I try to use itbtonfind towers but seems sometimes I end up at no tower? Any other opinion

It sounds like the tower(s) is(are) squawking offset coords for the tower. There isn't really any other options for apps. In the sponsor area there are locations for were the towers are. 6. I have the opposite problem, although I don't know anything about PRLs or anything that may be causing it.  My S4 often just does not switch to 4G, and I get stuck on 3G too slow to even load a map.  When I toggle airplane mode, 4G is often around 85-90dBm.  So I'm in 3 to 4 bar territory for LTE and my phone won't switch unless I force it sometimes. Is there some way to change the priority of how it connects or the frequency at which it checks for a faster connection?

85-90 dB is an excellent strength for lte. Unless I am wrong and am corrected lte is the priority but your phone is programed to check it after a set time. I've noticed in new areas I go that have lte and my phone does not know it I have to cycle airplane mode, but usually areas that I visit that has lte my phone will do one of three things. The first one is switch immediately, the second is wait for the lte scan timer, and the third is I run my lte discovery app.

  7. To add to my last post, I love to stream YouTube personal selections or pandora via Bluetooth... In my car. But another issue is... As soon as I leave the 4g/3G tower threshold into 3G data... Even though 3G was provisioned, it sucks. Barely keeps up with pandora.. Buffers big time. I understand lte was not rolled out in my area, but it was avail in mid feb 2013, and hasn't been adjusted since. The 4g is awesome even for me on the distant end of service range of my tower at 117 db on lte. Why does the 3G make me suffer so much once the lte is not accessible on the same tower? They are combo... Midland mi. I am on the edge of the 4g service area with most strengths in 110-114... Anything above 117 sends me to 3G and the signal is low 90's. I've done *3001#12345#* and I see signal strength. Apple from my understanding... This is data.

Any help as to why the 3G is so bad once it cuts over from lte on these combo towers?

The nv 3g might not be up and running and still running on the legacy 3g.
  8. Mike every person I talk to about phone info I turn them to the free app and tell them gI've that a try and if you like it buy to app. Every person that I have suggested this to I believe have bought the app. I also tell them to come to s4gru and become a member and to read up on your app along with nv.

Mike keep up the great work and again if you need a guinea pig to test just let me know I can't do anything in normal life right now so I have 100% free time for helping, and trolling this forum

  9. It was a two-letter typo in the 1X notification code that caused all the problems!  Version 3.15 has been uploaded to Google Play already, it usually takes 10-60 minutes to become available.

For the next couple of hours, do not update unless you know you are getting 3.15.  If you have already updated to 3.14, keep 1X notifications disabled and you should be ok.

Sorry for the trouble, especially for those of you who had serious issues this morning!

    -Mike

Mike you made a great app and you do something most software developers refuse or don't do. You listen to your users, take their suggestions and try in some way to put it in the app. I standup and clap for you with my drugged up broken body.

Again keep up the excellent work sir
