  1. I'm also getting 21mbps download and 5mbps upload in front of the Walmart on Colonial & Alafaya. Still coming from the Lee Vista tower at 417. That tower is in full force. I'm commuting right now and I'll be updating you as I make it to work today.
  2. I also had LTE outside the front door of my apartment, but not inside, and while walking south on Econ toward Colonial, but the signal was minimal. More Sensorly mapping needs to be made around UCF. I'm finding service in new areas again.
  3. Great news guys! I'm getting 15mbps download and 3mbps upload right on the intersection Econlockhatchee Trl & Colonial Drive, and I can confirm that I'm getting such a strong signal from the tower approximately at 417 & Lee Vista Blvd. I didn't realize a tower could have that well of a signal, I'm getting almost 3-5 bars out here on Colonial.
  4. I noticed that empty space on the tower at other sites too. I noticed that the towers at Econ & Colonial, Econ & University, and the tower by Brighthouse Stadium on UCF campus also have empty spots in the same place. However, I also managed to snag up to 20mbps download and 10mbps upload at Econ River Wilderness Area just east of UCF at the end of McCulloch Rd. My Signal 2 Cydia app approximated the location of the tower I was connected to, which was close to Lockwood Blvd just north of McCulloch Rd. But yeah, this rollout process seems to have slowed down drastically since Avalon Park got LTE for the first time a while back.
  5. Guys! BEST news I've seen in forever! Orlando was finally announced as a city getting LTE this summer! Check out the 2nd list after the 21 markets that launched earlier this week! http://newsroom.sprint.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=2563
  6. On my way to work this morning, I saw that my LTE was ranging from 4-12mbps download along Alafaya by UCF, when I was getting 0.3-1.5mbps last week in the same places. The signal is getting stronger over here.
  7. See that makes sense, but here's the thing. I forgot to mention that Signal 2 hasn't been able to approximate any locations of towers while on 3G, and not even on 1x, so it only finds the towers' locations while it's connected to LTE, which I don't understand. Any idea why that might be the case?
  8. Ok so I found some pretty extraordinary stuff while I was in Melbourne today. With my iPhone being jailbroken, I got an app called Signal 2, which approximates the location of the cell phone tower you're connected to. It's not 100% accurate but this is as good as it gets. So I ran a speed test at this exact spot shown below in the first picture, and got the speed test result shown in the 2nd picture. I got just under 30mpbs within thousands of feet of an active LTE tower. So I can probably suggest to expect to see a maximum download speed of 30-35mbps and an average of 4-10mbps indoors when it's launched here in Orlando, but of course, it could be even faster. Also, check out the third photo. When the line is blue, it means the tower is visible, but not connected. So it turns out my iPhone detected a tower's approximate location in Oviedo all the way from Melbourne, which I thought was pretty incredible. That gives us an idea of the real potential of a tower's signal strength. I thought these were very interesting. Can't wait to see this stuff happen on our side of town.
  9. Well guys, for the first time ever, I finally caught an LTE signal inside of my bedroom at 8:34pm by Econlockhatchee & Colonial! Looks like the rollout is progressing again!
  10. Got this speed test north of Colonial on Econlockhatchee trail on the bridge over the lake. We need some Sensorly mapping over by UCF again. I have LTE outside my apartment complex, low signal, but it is getting there.
  11. So I was at the front desk of my job today, and looked at my phone and saw that I had LTE. First time I've ever caught LTE right at my workstation before. Very very low signal, but my hopes for faster data speeds are rising. My job is in Oviedo btw.
  12. Hey guys I just caught a brief glimpse of LTE while driving southbound down Econlockhatchee Trail from University Blvd, but it went back to 3G before going over the bridge. That's all I got for now lol
  13. Umm guys...it looks like T-Mobile might surpass Sprint in LTE coverage... Sprint says they lowered their goal to cover 200 million people by the end of the year. :/ http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-loses-337000-net-subs-lowers-lte-coverage-goal-200m-year-end/2013-02-07
  14. Alright guys check out this news report. Sprint has a new strategy to speed up the LTE rollout process. Looks like we'll be seeing LTE in our homes a lot sooner than we expected. http://www.wirelessestimator.com/breaking_news.cfm
  15. Don't worry guys, the past few times we have been silent on this forum, a new coverage area suddenly appears soon after. I wouldn't doubt it if we see new LTE coverage sometime this week. That's just based on the trend I've seen lately.
  16. So based on what I've seen around campus, it looks like there's a 1-2 bar LTE signal pretty much everywhere within a ~500 foot radius of UCF Library. Nowhere on campus has acceptable internet speeds though. Sprint still has a whole lot of work to do.
  17. Alright guys, and yet, another update. I just caught a very faint LTE signal in front of my apartment complex while I was walking home. Exciting!!! If anybody is ever around Colonial, 417, Dean Road, Econlockhatchee Trail, or Alafaya north of UCF, please map a trip on Sensorly around those areas whenever you get the chance. I have absolutely no idea what tower I was connected to just now in Union Park, and I'm not even sure if our phones can pick up that low of a signal while driving, or if I just got lucky while I was walking. Keep up the great work! Thanks guys!
  18. UPDATE: This is the best speed test I was able to get so far. Took it at the southwestern sidewalk corner of the intersection of Alafaya & McCulloch. I maintained an LTE signal my whole way up until I got into work, and I'm back on 3G. Looks like my LTE signal isn't strong enough to function indoors just yet. I can't upload the image right now for some reason, but my best download speed was 14.37mbps download and 0.69mbps upload, with all other tests about 1.0mbps-6mbps. Will edit this post with that screenshot as soon as I get off work tonight.
  19. Also, I just left campus, walking up Alafaya to work right now and I've maintained 1-2 bars on LTE so far, but speed tests are ranging no more than 2mbps, so there's still speed improvements that need to be made. I'll post a new speed test once I'm over 13mbps again.
  20. Hey guys I caught LTE outside of the UCF Library today 1/28/2013, and it needs to get on Sensorly. If anybody is ever around the center area of UCF campus, keep your Sensorly Maps running!!!
