  1. Yeah it's definitely strange. Maybe you can make some sense out of my screen shots. It switches to roaming (800mhz) during a call and also anytime I send out a text. I pickup a good 1X signal also and that's what the phone initiates the call on before it switches. It's definitely a huge improvement over my previous Note, which would just drop the call with a strong 1X signal.
  2. That is the correct PRL for your phone. My issue was specifically with the Note 2 running on 800. A few months back when Shentel started turning on 800 my phone was having some network issues but your model should be fine and most of the towers in the Harrisburg area have been updated. Hopefully your indoor situation will change with LTE 800.
  3. Update to my issue. Went to a Shentel Sprint store and they told me it is a known issue in their area. They tried through tech support to push a programming update to the device but it kept failing. They ended up exchanging my device which I didn't think would make a difference but it actually did. I am picking up 800mhz and I'm still on prl 2000. However it's picking it up on roaming. When I go into areas that my previous note would drop calls, my new phone will switch to roaming and my Signal Check app will chime that I'm on 800. Not the way I want to pickup 800 but I'll take what I can get. It's a big improvement over my last note and I haven't dropped a call yet. Now the only thing I need to check on is if it's showing up as roaming on my account.
  4. The Shentel (Central PA) market is definitely one of them. When they activated the first group of towers with 800 in my area I went 2 days with no voice/txt. My Note2 would connect to 800 and the only connection I could use was LTE. This was only near towers upgraded with 800. When I would enter into an area with 1900 my voice/txt worked fine. So after a few days of that they released PRL 2000 and my phone stopped connecting to 800. Now the issue I'm currently having is my phone is dropping calls all over the place with strong 1X signal and right after the call drops my Signal Check app will chime with 800 for a split second. This has has been an absolute nightmare while trying to make phone calls. I'm not sure if it's isolated to the Shentel Alcatel-Lucent build out but I know they currently have the most 800 on the East Coast. If they don't get this figured out we could have a big problem with the Note 2 on the 800 side as the build out continues acrossed the country. On a positive note(no pun intended) I noticed other Sprint users in my area are running smoothly on 800, only the note 2 customers are having the issues. I wake up everyday checking for a new prl, hoping they figured it out and customer care/tech support is unaware of any issues, probably because I'm in a Shentel market. Hopefully this is resolved soon because I really love this phone.
  5. Had some free time today so I decided to do a little sensorly mapping. I covered Shentels northeastern boundary and got some voice and lte coverage on the maps. It was looking pretty bare up that way so I figured it could use some color. I covered Halifax, Millersburg, Elizabethville, Lykens and Williamstown PA. Was an awesome scenic drive with lots to see. After some of the terrain obstacles I saw today, I'm really impressed with how quickly Shentel has upgraded their network. They've done an awesome job. Unfortunately I have a note 2 that is currently being blocked for scanning 800mhz because of whatever connectivity issue Samsung /Sprint are having with the notes. There was several times I saw 800 blip on and off so the voice/3g coverage may be even stronger than what my phone represented on Sensorly.
  6. Glad to hear it's working well for you. Since you're using a different phone on CDMA 800 with success, I am beginning to think it's isolated to the Note 2 or maybe just the Hbg/Middletown area. Along with the 800 issue, when Lte was originally turned on here it worked very well but recently it has began to randomly disconnect. My coworkers are experiencing the same data issues. I was hoping it was part of a temporary site upgrade for 800 but it's been happening for about a month. I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe the site is still being worked on. Thanks for your info.
  7. I live in the Harrisburg Pa Shentel market and having some issues with the 800mhz. I updated to prl 25015 about a week ago and started noticing my phone picking up 800. The issue is whenever my phone is connected to 800 my txt msgs will fail and voice calls can't be made. When it would randomly switch back to 1X all services were restored. This is happening specifically in the Middletown, PA at the Harrisburg Int'l Airport site but yesterday my phone stayed on 800 all the way through Hbg with disabled voice/txt. Thinking there may be something wrong with prl 25015 because I decided to update my prl again and now I have Prl 2000 and my phone hasn't looked for 800 so far today. Maybe the towers are ready to broadcast 800 but shentel hasn't flipped the switch and I got ahold of the 25015 PRL a little early. Anyway, I'm excited for the new frequency, just wanted to share my experiences with it so far.
  8. During my adventures today I was back in the Hershey area. I ran Sensorly on the main routes around town. I wanted to get a little more mapped since I was only able to do a quick driveby last week. The center of town and tourist attractions have good coverage. I also checked the southside of town, Hershey Medical Center, Hummelstown and Palmyra. No coverage yet for those areas.
  9. I can confirm that Hershey Pa has LTE coverage. I ran sensorly through yesterday evening around the main tourist attractions.
  10. I was able to run sensorly up rt39 and colonial rd and there is definitely a strong lte signal there now. Ill be up that way later and will try to map more. Good find!!
  11. Picked up some new coverage on route 230 through Steelton/Highspire heading into south Harrisburg. Also picking up new ehrpd signals north of Harrisburg in the town of Dauphin along route 322. All tracked on sensorly.
  12. Good news...just got done running sensorly through Harrisburg midtown/uptown areas this evening . Coverage is looking pretty good. The hill and southside are still looking dark. Ill keep checking though.
  13. Had fun running Sensorly around Harrisburg today. So I can definitely confirm 2 new areas of coverage. One at Harrisburg Int'l Airport covering some of Middletown and down river a little ways. Also noticed a significant portion of midtown and uptown Harrisburg is covered. I'm very impressed with Shentel and will be on the lookout for some new spots in the coming days
  14. Hey everyone! I'm new to the board but I've been tracking the posts. I live in the Harrisburg area and I'm very excited about the Shentel upgrades. Anyway, I'm off work today with a full tank of gas and ready to paint the map. I'm gonna start in the city and work my way out to the east shore suburbs. I know there is more coverage than what our current map is showing so ill do my best to find it. I'll also cover the Middletown area along with the airport. I drive the area alot so ill continue to update the map as much as i can.
