  1. OK, so cdma rev B is not part of NV? Those of us already getting better than 1 Mbps on 3G can expect no improvement?
  2. Absolutely hating that our Shift is out of it for any NV advantages, but oh well.
  3. Of the popular phone specifications round-up sites, it appears that phonescoop.com is the one that cares about the cellular vs ESMR distinction.
  4. Evo 3D, coined by AndroidForums member Candyman. It's pronounced three-vo. EL TEvo was coined by AM2 from the name LTEvo (lte evo) by drexappeal, also members there. Sorry for the shorthand, no l33t intentions, just habits, especially after seeing EL TEvo used here.
  5. OK, so that 800 spec on the Evo and 3vo are in the same boat - n/a??
  6. Increased package (chip) count doesn’t go hand in hand with slim and cost savings. The future of devices to support the proposed LTE updates will be most interesting indeed.
  7. 4G, ok, but wifi on newer phones?? We leave wifi on on both a 3vo and a Shift, and empirically find no difference in battery consumption compared to managing wifi by hand. My Evo, on the other hand, had a huge difference controlling the radios by hand. Interesting tool, many thanks for this info.
  8. I would think that a large part of the routing difference between home and cell, other than routing itself being stochastic, is the fact that Sprint phones route through their proxy servers by default. This looks pretty good if ideal speed is of interest, though. Honest question: what is the interest in ideal speeds?
  9. In NM?? Yes. Yes, I am. I'm heading to ABQ for a granddaughter's birthday. [hide]Hopefully, my first post in a tech area here qualifies as cromulent - http://s4gru.com/ind...dpost__p__12071 Oh, yeah -- that is shameless self-promotion, promise I won't make it a habit. [/hide] (no hide tags -- booookay)
  10. I believe that it's a common myth that Qualcomm SoCs contain radios. When considering the RF that must be managed to deal with bus crosstalk within the SoC (system on (a) chip), adding raw antenna inputs and managing to that would drive costs through the roof. According to Qualcomm, here's the modem set built-in to the S4 SoC - From http://www.qualcomm....-new-mobile-age Note, PDF download required. Hope this isn't redundant and is somewhat helpful. The Evo 3D submission to the FCC included a full schematic, with part numbers, that was fortunately leaked - I don't know if that's happened before or since, but was hoping for it with this phone (one can always hope). If we can get a leaked schematic, then as with the 3D, we can nail the entire phone's capabilities per various semiconductor data sheets and answer a lot of questions. Sadly, as AJ suggests and you say, we'll most likely be stuck waiting for a teardown, and those aren't always complete.
  11. Your faith in Network Vision's potential cromulescence embiggens my spirit and enobles us all!
  12. Hi. So, here's the thing. None of the above predictions are mine. I will predict that you may enjoy my posts, they're always perfectly cromulent.
  13. Lma0!! I promise to do my utmost to act as BSOD repellent.
  14. Man, talk about calling the White House and the President answers the phone! Hi guys!
