You can activate the new iPhone 13's on Sprint with a system-generated eSim.

Is this something that can be done or just an ability of the iPhone 13?  Fighting with Sprint to get an iPhone 13 activated on the Sprint network.  They’re telling me that currently it can only be activated on T-mobile as no Sprint SIM cards will be made to work with the 13. When I asked about eSIM on Sprint they just said no, with no explanation.

4.) What if Shentel expands?  I know they made an agreement with Sprint a while back that gave them the option to expand deep into Eastern KY (possibly via an Appalachian Wireless acquisition maybe?).  If Shentel expands into new service areas will that force T-Mobile out?

I doubt the five telephone companies/cooperatives that co-own Appalachian wireless would ever give it up. It’s their cash cow. App wireless has used government grants and funds whenever possible to build out towers due to operating in a very rural area; yet charge their customers extremely high rates justifying it by saying building towers in said region is expensive. But I wish this wasn’t the case, a Shentel or t-mobile acquisition of App wireless would be fantastic from a user point of view.

Maybe Snake was right about T Mobile coming in and offering attractive phone "upgrades" quickly to help move that old equipment off network so they can streamline everything network related?

Was told last week by a district manager (T-Mobile) that as soon as possible after closing T-Mobile had lots of deals ready for Sprint customers to upgrade/switch phones.  The exact words she used were that they were "very aggressive offers."  She wouldn't give any details. Take with a grain of salt but it makes sense.

The issue you and I had (red led on LTE) was a software configuration bug on Sprints side that has been diagnosed and fixed.
My A4 was flashing red LTE with everything else solid green since evening of Saturday. Now its all solid green with 1x + LTE actively transmitting.

So how do I get this voodoo-magic fix to come on over to my Airave?   All solid green except flashing red LTE...

Completely willing to sacrifice a bucket of KFC chicken bones to get it working.

Me as well. I'm curious about something. If this does have VoLTE, if I start a VoLTE call on it and then go outside will it 1) continue onto the regular Sprint network and 2) continue onto the regular Sprint network even if VoLTE is not enabled in my area yet?

I can't test that as I do not have a native Sprint LTE connection at my home. Maybe others can when their unit arrives?

    Woo!

Plug that baby in and get SCP screenshots and engineering screenshots from your phone!

I'm sure our resident Mikejeep is very down to make it identifiable on SCP.

In progress. Boot up took a couple minutes, LED's for WAN, Sprint Core connection, LAN, GPS, CDMA, & LTE flashed for about 5 minutes (it really took its time). GPS turns green, then goes back to flashing red after a bit.  CDMA connects, but I'm assuming LTE requires a GPS lock. Still tinkering...

Feel free to go into SignalCheck and send a diagnostic report when connected to the Airave when you have a chance.. :)

Will do, as soon as I get some LTE goodness.  I am REALLY wondering if this thing will have VOLTE out of the box at this stage.

  7. I ordered one Friday morning but hadn't received any notification email. So I called back a moment ago and was just told that they are still having trouble ordering these. I relayed that some folks had gotten shipping notifications...the reply was, "I promise no one is getting these yet, they are simply not shipping yet. " Ugh.

He offered to try everyday and would let me know when he was successful in placing my order for an Airave 4.

    Anyone have any advice?

  8. A tech. rep. relayed to me today that a fix for the "Wi-fi Calling is unable to determine your location. It's recommended to change your location method to high accuracy" bug that came to the Note 8 with Pie/One ui is scheduled to be patched within a few days.

Also said that VoLTE may arrive for the note 8 as early as mid April.

  9. IMHO yes.  Ordered the Note 8 (pre-owned) early last week for my daughter.  Arrived in perfect condition. I was worried about the battery life but honestly it seems fine.  Charger shipped appears to be a generic, but still has fast charge. No extra nibs for the pen, just the one. I'm not a Samsung person so not sure how long the pen nibs last or how many ship with a new Note. I'm not a Samsung fan but kinda liking the phone. She is very happy with it.
