Back in the Samsung Epic days, we actually had ROMs that fixed a lot of the manufacturer issues (ie: keystrokes not registering for fast typers), bluetooth issues being remedied by custom ROM, etc. But now there really is little incentive to root/ROM your device, unless you like changing things up every so often. I absolutely dread visiting mobile sites on my S7 though because of the amount of ads that take over my screen. Sure, I have added Crystal to the Samsung browser, but it does not work well with the internal reddit browsers, or any other application outside of the samsung browser. The ad sitting at the bottom that doesn't hinder my browsing is OK, but the ones that take over the entire screen and place a tiny little X at the top right so you unintentionally click the ad is ridiculous. I'm on an unlimited data plan, but for those that do not have unlimited data, studies show that ads can use up to 30% of your data usage when web browsing.

While 3xCA is not necessarily needed, it is there to let people finish their download faster so it is available for others more often.

Only one reviewer has claimed that. As others have said it is in par or better with regard to wifi than current phones out. So they may have a bad unit more than likely.
Maybe they had a dud, or turned on power saver mode? No idea, it just seems unlikely that most of the reviews would not include that type of testing and/or not notice it.

The advantage for Sprint taking so long for their variant to be announced just means there's special enhancements that are delaying it. I wouldn't doubt at all that it'll be 3xCA capable.Well, it seems like there is going to be a CDMA version of the HTC 10 on Verizon, at least :
http://www.androidheadlines.com/2016/04/verizon-allows-test-drive-promos-htc-10-pre-order.html
However, I find it absolutely ridiculous that there still is no information available listed anywhere online regarding the technical specifications of the CDMA version. I am tempted though to get the unlocked version on preorder, then to transfer over to Cricket's new Unlimited plan from T-Mobile. I'll get the $100 discount HTC is offering on its website using the promotional code, then the $100 offer Cricket has for those who port over to Cricket from T-Mobile. I really liked the AT&T network experience I had on Cricket when I tried it some time ago, just didn't like the phone I had with them. Cricket had much better signal than T-Mobile. Still, I do want to go back to Sprint, though without much information, such as will it be 3xca or 2xca, etc., I don't want to pass on an opportunity such as the discounts that are being offered right now for something I'm sure of will be a great, reliable network experience.
With Sprint, I really want to have a 3xca device. So, I'll have some thinking to do about this tonight, as I'll want to preorder by tomorrow, if I decide to go that route.

The carriers can play in the 3.5GHz sandbox all they want! Just keep out of the WiFi area.
This is my hesitation. If they're going to be using unlicensed spectrum, it's going to cause issues for many people running WiFi in their homes.

caspar347, you should know that cell tower RF is dangerous. And vaccines cause autism.
Beware!
And this comes from someone diagnosed with autism.

I was wondering where my mutated third arm came from.

looks like el paso is getting some band 41 action in the next few months

I wonder how far out their system can track upcoming upgrades? We talking 6 months? 3 months? I had reached out to @Sprintcare on Twitter and found that they had a scheduled upgrade that was 3 months out.

Sprint.
Stupid Samsung! Even on T-Mobile/Sprint it is locked down hard. It's kind of funny actually, because the Exynos variant is getting all of the dev love now.

Well, there still isn't any news regarding definitive Sprint soecifications on the HTC 10. While Sprint did put out that press release announcing the HTC 10, it is very odd HTC is not blisting the spectrum specifications Sprint uses on its network. So far, not a good sign. Hopefully it'll get announced soon, or else i8t is going to be some months where the Samsung S7 remains the clear leader of Sprint devices.
I haven't seen anything in the FCC yet either. That does not mean it's not coming, though. But I do think it'll probably be delayed, judging by what I have heard.

Adblock is a really nice feature. I used to customize my ROM alot, but I would usually mess around with Xposed a bit too much and end up soft bricking my phone.
Im currently rooted, but I only use it for SCP at the moment. Adblock seems to make my internet browser time out a lot.
I'm the opposite. Occasionally a site will block me from viewing because of Adblock, but I just leave it. But in most cases, I find that the browsing experience is much better because ads won't pop up in your face or take over your screen.

I use root to install Xposed, adblock, debloat, and occasionally customize my ROM. I enjoy tinkering with my device.

The Moto X pure looks like A better phone then the Nexus 6p. I think anyway
After reading this, I'd avoid Motorola.

I am not finding any solid "go get this now" reviews. Seems everyone agrees, its just middle of the pack. The camera isnt impressing me the most.

The Gizmodo read was actually praising the device. It does say that the Camera isn't quite as good as the S7 (in terms of focusing), but I bet that a software update can fix that. I don't take many pictures so I don't care a whole lot about the camera performance, but I do really want a current-gen device that's hack-able, so the 10 is exactly what I'm looking for.

It looks like in Jacksonville, FL that T-Mobile has 30Mhz of PCS.
1850 - 1865
1930 - 1945and
1895 - 1910
1975 - 1990But I know there is PCS spectrum swap in my area so I'd have to double check things once that's updated in the FCC dashboard.

According to Reddit, it looks like some B2 is showing up in Southern Florida. It's 5x5 LTE on B2, but better than nothing! I personally haven't had any congestion issues from what I'm experiencing up here in Northern Florida on T-Mobile, but extra bandwidth wouldn't hurt.

Were you able to use the coupon

Yes, I used HTC1008.

Although I think listening in general is a great idea, was a "listening tour" really necessary?
Most consumers barely have any loyalty to what has basically become a commodity service. What consumers do have are memories of bad experiences of network performance, poor customer service or both. You don't need to talk to customers to figure that out.
Instead, how about a "getting things done tour."
I feel like it'd be more effective for Marcelo to ask their churned customers these questions, or just listen in on the calls where customers complain/cancel Sprint. Talking to people in select markets (where Sprint in most cases do well) for an unbiased opinion is just a waste of time. Some people would probably be too shy to badmouth Sprint in front of their CEO as well. With recorded calls, you'll hear everything you need to know regarding customer's thoughts and concerns.

Pulled the trigger this morning for the unlocked variant. It was too tempting and watching the hands on videos made me really appreciate the looks of the device, even the front.

It has been removed. I read somewhere today that they looked into the statistics and found hardly anyone use the IR blaster on their previous phones.Anyone see anything about the IR blaster like previous models had? I would be surprised if they removed it, but I am not seeing it.

Just an FYI. Those of you ordering the GSM version, HTC has a $100 off coupon that can be used if pre-ordering the device.
Code: htc1008

Seeing as they're part of the problem, yes it is turrible. I feel like just adding B41 to all existing sites and readjusting B26 for coverage and not capacity would make Sprint's network triumphant in Jax. But I'll leave the network techs to it.

Completely disagree. They significantly cleaned up the mess that Gary Forsee left.
What's unfortunate (that I just recently learned), is that Gary is still being paid a pension.
Despite Gary Forsee's widely reported poor management performance throughout the Sprint Nextel merger and afterwards, he was awarded a severance package that ChiefExecutive.net described as "exceptional:"[7] Foresee's severance package added up to over $40 million, including a $1.5 million salary through 2009, $5 million in bonuses, stock options and restricted shares worth $23 million and an $84,000-a-month pension for life.Sprint old board was full of dimwits.

Looks like it may be developer friendly.
Your HTC warranty even covers bootloader unlocking on the HTC 10!
For more bootloader unlocking info, visit www.htcdev.comVia http://www.htc.com/us/go/buy-htc-10/
I wonder if HTC will throw in any pre-order bonuses like LG/Samsung did?

I can't decide if I want the silver back or the black back. From previous experiences, the black back tended to scratch a bit best the USB charging port. For those that had any doubt HTC was releasing "CDMA" version of the HTC 10.
Quote from their preorder site...
The Unlocked version is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. The HTC 10 will be available for Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint soon.

So I went by that Sprint site by Lowe's off Old St Augustine Rd and 295, still no upgrade. Legacy 3G panels. Sprint running really behind on this site, according to their planned upgrades.
