  1. I noticed yesterday on Route 53 passing Monticello a nearby site now has Band 26. I drive this road every day and it's full of LTE gaps but this helps(for a few minutes anyway) I still have the 3G fallback issue when I lose LTE I will get full 3G get the "unable to activate cellular data" and then go to 1X. Thought this would change since we have had LTE for a good while now. Also anyone else in Charlottesville noticed any new Band 41? There are several areas that really need it. The tower near UVa Hospital is only Band 26 and is slow as molasses! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I went to Blacksburg for the first time this weekend since I have had Sprint. I was actually pretty impressed. Service was great in Christiansburg and Blacksburg and for most of the way on 81. My T-Mobile line did a lot better on 81 with holding on to LTE but Sprint was far better in the city. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have to say I like the way Shentel is running things however I agree that nTelos wasn't all bad. They were just limited on cash and did some things that were not very smart such as the eastern markets getting LTE when they had limited customers there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Does anyone have any clue how they are planning on using some of the 800 smr? Lake Monticello was one of the first things nTelos put up and it's all B25, I've been hoping for some B26 to light up because I can't even go into the Food Lion right across the road without losing LTE. I have always wondered what made them choose 25 over 26 in some random places. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I heard a radio commercial this morning at the gas station here in CVille and it said "nTelos customers did you know you can make the choice to leave without any penalties" and it went on about US Cellular Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The one on my grandparents property is owned by nTelos. There is an AT&T tower that is nearby and is still to this day HSPA+. They also have a Verizon owned tower right beside nTelos. Verizon was quick to install LTE but nTelos was struggling to get the necessary backhaul to get LTE up and running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You are correct. You can hang on to LTE if you take the ramp towards Charlottesville but will lose it if you take the Lynchburg exit. My grandparents live in North Garden with a nTelos/Shentel tower on their property. They haven't added any LTE to that tower yet but I am able to pick up one "bar" of band 26 sitting in their living room. I talked to one of the nTelos guys about a year ago while he was working on the tower and he said that they were having some issues with backhaul to the site. I know that Verizon has band 13 on the same site so I have no clue how all that works.
  8. To my knowledge it goes all the way to Short Pump now. There are a few 1X spots but that is just tower spacing issues at this point. One the other way Shentel covers all of 64 in LTE up to Charlottesville Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It actually works I think that's why it's so exciting [emoji16] you know the 3G there did nothing at all! I kinda had a clue it was coming when two weeks ago I was at a friends house on that is near the next tower down from Zions on 64. Saw LTE light up there and it worked it's way on up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Went to Zions Crossroads today and LTE is finally working! Was here yesterday and still 3G. This area has needed LTE for a very long time and finally got it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Has anyone else been having major issues today? Had no LTE all morning over near the Pantops area and calls have been taking at least two tries to complete. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It's been kinda quiet in here lately but just saw something odd today. All of my family's nTelos phone have had no LTE since Friday. No clue why but it will not connect to LTE while my Sprint phone is working just fine. It's vice versa from what it was like back last year! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thank you!! Couldn't get a better answer than that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Can anyone identify this tower and let me know if it is a Sprint tower? This is beside my work here in Charlottesville and I'm assuming the address would be Avon Street Extended. I have always had weak LTE signal here but full EVDO and two weeks ago they placed the big white panel on top and now I have full Band 26. I know it's not the best picture but the best I can get at the moment Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I know that this is not in our "Shentel" market but does anyone have any clue on when Zions Crossroads will be getting some sort of LTE. I asked a few months ago and Trip is usually good with this stuff so I figured I would ask. 3G at this point is not usable. Reminds me of Myrtle Beach the whole summer season. Can barely send an iMessage [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Mine works very randomly and only with one person on a nTelos phone. It sounds great but can't figure out how to make it work all the time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I got this on Friday in a line of sight of the B41 tower that broadcasts over downtown. I almost hit 50mbps but couldn't do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just rode by the nTelos at Pantops in Charlottesville. Closed with no lights on but a Sprint sign in the window. I guess it will be reopening and what I saw before was ripping all the old nTelos kiosks out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I met a family member at the Cracker Barrel on Wards Rd. last Sunday. LTE was there but barely. Pretty much all I had was 3G that was useless due to congestion. If you use 29 coming from Charlottesville I did see a few new LTE sites in Nelson.
  20. Pantops is closed. Drove by Friday and everything is taken out. Haven't drove by the one at Shoppers World across from the mall yet. From what I was told that Sprint store on the corner near Rio Road is closing and the main store will be Shoppers World.
  21. SID 4379 is still broadcasting here in Charlottesville. Over the past few days my service has been pretty bad. LTE dropping to 1X and callers getting a fast busy signal. Hopefully some changes will start happening! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was shocked myself. I only used Band 4 on T-Mobile so no problem at all but I was expecting only HSPA when I switched to Cricket but to my surprise B17 works
  23. I have a Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge that I use every now and then. I'm an iPhone user but like a taste of Android every now and then. I have been using the phone on my T-Mobile line that I just switched over to cricket. It has always been fine in T-Mobile but when switching to Cricket I knew it wouldn't support B17 LTE per the documentation I saw. The second I popped my Cricket Sim in Band 17 LTE came right on. How is this possible?? Sent from my SM-G925P using Tapatalk
  24. LTE is lost leaving the nTelos area at Zions and I start to pick up LTE around the Hadensville/Gum Spring area. Only issue is my iPhone doesn't want to connect by itself sometimes. I know if I don't get it by passing the Gum Spring Exit sign a Airplane Mode cycle will make it happen
  25. Follow up to my last post, Can someone explain to me how HD Voice on Sprint works? How does it work over 1X and why in the world would they deploy this over 1X as I would assume it would take up more voice channels. I know the specifics of LTE pretty well but CDMA 1X I have really never read into.
