HTC U Ultra
in HTC
Both bricked? Oof.
The A9 died from being dropped several times a day without a case on it for close to a year (think I broke the charge port but to lazy to fix it). The 10 I managed to kill poking around in the modem and did something I shouldn't have.

Ordered mine thru the Elevate link so early shipping. Would prefer to have the black one but since my 10 and A9 are both bricked and my M8 is wore out I decided not to wait.

Hopefully this is useful to somebody as pulling this caused my HTC 10 to hard brick. Apparently I clicked a wrong button somewhere along the line and when I rebooted Saturday morning it became an expensive paperweight.

Go with the Business Share plan and you can use your entire bucket on roaming. It doesn't even mention roaming in the usage breakdown.

A quick look at my SCP log says I've connected to band 5 and 12 on USC. I have shared the log with a couple other phones including my 5X on FI. I'll take a look at the last connected date to see what they say.Interesting. The HTC 10 only explicitly lists support for Bands 25/26/41 on the Sprint version, so I expected LTE roaming would be limited. Is USCC using Band 2/25 in your area? That could explain what you are seeing. NexTech in Kansas using Band 12, so I would expect you would not be able to connect there.

I think it is an HTC issue. I don't believe any of the HTC devices so far have LTE roaming capabilities. I know that while traveling through Kansas, my brother's HTC 10 cannot connect to NexTech's LTE network, while all of my LG devices can (G4, G5 and G6 has tested it).
If I put my HTC 10 in LTE only mode it connects to US Cellular no problem. In normal mode it will stay on 3G USC but all of our Samsung and HTC phones act the same way. There are no LG or Apple phones on our account so I can't say for them.

I received my test drive kit today and so far loving it. The only bad thing about the phone that I've found is that I have to return it on the 30th.
The phone looks amazing and feels good in hand (the same as a + series iPhone). The primary display looks better than my HTC 10 and the secondary screen is pretty useful. You can scroll through your favorite contacts, apps, calendar appointments, weather and reminders. When you get a notification it pops up there momentarily and allows you to click it. With the primary screen off when you pick up the phone the secondary screen comes on and displays the time and some notification icons.
The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate. The speakers are clean and louder than any phone I have. The included usb-c USonic headphones sound great and are really comfortable.
The battery life seems pretty good so far. On first power up the battery was at 79% and 5 hours later after setting it up, restoring 120 apps over cellular and playing around with it on full brightness I was only down to 45%.
Cellular performance seems good but I had to steal my iPhone's AT&T sim so I don't have a direct comparison.
I have not used the camera yet as I don't take many pictures but will probably venture out to a state park tomorrow or Sunday to take some.
If this phone was on Sprint I would buy it immediately. I'm debating on buying one to replace my iPhone but a lot of my customers have iPhones and most of the apps look different between Android and iOS that work with the equipment we install so its nice to be able to run through it showing them on my phone.

My county disappoints me and they need to learn how to spell Shentel. If only they cared about the heroin problem as much as they do wireless.

Should be a number of 10x10 second carriers in Winchester too now.
We have at least five now in Winchester. I noticed the first one on Black Friday.

HTC A9 (FCC)

Are the engineering screens accessible? Does it play nice with Signal Check Pro?
I am assuming it was the Sprint version, if so does the Sprint Zone app work on it?
It sticks a little after it switches from B41 but everything else seems to work properly.
I've only seen the 1x + LTE bug (or secret feature) for about 30 seconds after an airplane mode cycle but everything else including the import database works from what I can tell.
As for Sprint Zone for me it loaded all the Sprint default crap upon setup but crashes if I try to open the app itself.

With the U Ultra they sent them out a week or two ahead of the rest but there's no set date.
