  1. Guys is there an article anywhere that I can read that can get me up to speed with spark? Don't understand all the bands and frequencies. I haven't found anything explaining it. Any help would be great.

Spark is just Sprint's marketing name for Tri-Band devices. Sprint uses Band 26 (800mhz), Band 25 (1900mhz extended g block), and Band 41 (2600mhz - the frequency WiMax runs on).

    This discusses the marketing,

    http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4950-sprint-spark-official-name-for-the-tri-band-network-was-sprint-to-demo-its-25ghz-network-technology/

But I'd imagine you're wondering more about the actual semi-technical details?

  2.

I got 2 confirmations fron sprint that "International Wifi calling" does include the US. It's just a PR term. If for some reason it didn't, mine would be going back.

^ From the comments on the wall article.

  3. Reading that note 4 snapdragon 805 cant keep up with the pixel display . They said graphics are weak , have not touch the device yet so i dont know.

Where are you seeing that? I tried looking it up but see stories about the already released versions that have Exynos Processor, not Snapdragon 805.

  4. Not to doubt the front page article, but it says the source is the sprint press release... And yet the press release is right here:

    http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/samsung-galaxy-note-4.htm?previousArticle=11573&nextArticle=11572&gotoArt=%2Fnews-releases%2Fsamsung-galaxy-note-4.htm

It simply says Wi-Fi calling, and in no way does the language indicate this is restricted to out of country only. In fact Sprint has never done this, and based strictly on the press release, they could get in a lot of hot water for false advertising if they did it this time. The word "international" is simply not there.

Yeah, I looked that exact page up because I hadn't recalled it having the fishy wording of International Wi-Fi calling, and all it says is "Wi-Fi Calling for improved voice, data and messaging services in locations that previously had limited or no mobile network coverage". I'm afraid there is just enough ambuguity there for Sprint to get out any false advertising, and I can't imagine the Note 4 will be International Wi-Fi only forever.

  5. Anyone have any speculation about why the Note 4 does International Wi-Fi calling but not domestic?
I generally loathe conspiracy theories, but it feels like with the iPhone not supporting it, this might be intentional to try to tip the balance until Sprint hammers out Wi-Fi calling for the iPhone.

  6. Interesting, Galaxy...was your purchase for a NEW line of service or were upgrading

an existing phone on your Sprint account?  Starting to look like this $200

promotion (hosted by Sprint & Sammy) is for NEW lines of service; it does not

appear that I can get the promotion with a phone already under a 2 yr contract..

thoughts on this?  Really , in the end, what I would like to do is replace my

Kyocera Vibe (which is under a two yr contract) with a brand new Note for

$99...right now the evidence I've gathered suggests that I cannot do this; I COULD

get a NEW note for $99 if I wanted to add yet another contract & line of service

but then I'm paying an extra monthly bill..Have I got this right?

Looks like the whole idea is to entice new folks NOT to buy the iPhone 6!!!!

Nowhere in either of those does it say anything about a new line of service. You just have to be eligible for a normal upgrade (is it 22 months, 20 months now for Sprint?). Otherwise, you'd get $200 off the price of the full purchase price. You can't use the Best Buy deal to get money off Easypay because of the way the Sprint Easypay system coordinates with Best Buy.

  7. Forgive me in advance..I'm easily confused..If I take my Kyocera Vibe

into Best Buy this week or next and order a Note does the Samsung $200 get

applied to the $299 price you stated above?  I get a brand new Note for $99

    as long as I'm ok with a 2 yr contact?? Yes? No?  I don't want a $200

BB gift card that I have to use buying their junk...anyone out there really

understand how the Sammy Trade-in program works at BB?

The way these programs have worked in the past with Best Buy is that they immediately use the gift card towards the price of the phone. Best Buy would probably customers if they gave out the discount as Best Buy cards that don't go towards the phone.

    https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/Note4/

Says "Best Buy customers go in-store to redeem instantly." <- If they don't use it as discount on the phone, that wording would be wide open for false advertising.

  8. When they deployed it originally the Canadian holders were not in a rush to reband 800 but very recent relegation showed that the canycks expedited rebanding to 2016 instead of 2017+ as originally envisioned.

Most recent deployments had standard NV antennas deployed without the smr equipment like the southern border.

Do you have a source for that? I tried looking through the 800 TA site but the reports are only up to the first quarter.

  9. http://www.androidauthority.com/note-4-screen-gap-532004/

Not exactly what I want to see but if the manual predates the gap discovery it must not be anticipated to be a problem. I wonder how long till apple fans claim the bending is a design feature...

Someone showed off that it has been possible to do as far back as the Note II, and is mentioned in the previous manuals as well. Not sure how much an issue this is, a business card is about 0.3 mm thick.

I wonder if is just they can't manufacture them to tighter specifications, or if the design is intentional to allow show absorption during drops. Samsungs battery doors are similarly designed - keep complain about them popping off during a drop, but it is intentional to allow the battery to come loose instead of its weight smashing on the phone.

  10. I'm kind of surprised. I guess Qualcomm didn't have the mdm9635 in any sort of supply.

It seems likely to be a constrained part. I can't find a definitive source, but it looks like it is Qualcomm's first 20nm modem. That means there probably aren't a lot of Fab capacity to build it, nor would yields be the best on a new process node.

  11. Best Buy should price match.

    Sent from my CoziBlurred4.3 gN2

Their price match program explicitly says they won't price match online retailers for contract phone prices. You might get them to price match something like Sam's Club or Costco if they have a better price.

  12. I wonder why Samsung and Sprint decided not to support the RRPP and CCA LTE band 12 in the Note 4.  Hopefully all Sprint 2015 LTE phons include B12 support.

Development of the Note 4 probably began before there was RRPP / CCA in place. The reason the iPhone supports it isn't that they were forward thinking, it was that the iPhone has a lot of supported bands so that Apple has fewer versions of the phone.
