That's great news. If you don't mind me asking, how did you acquire this information?
Network Vision is on track to be fully deployed in that area by Nov 30th, 2012, and many other areas in the Bronx.
I called sprint and they checked for any updates in my area which is Corona Queens and they told me that LTE Should be Lunched from Nov. 29- Dec-30th so any day in between we will see LTE in the City of NYC.
-
That's good to see LTE on the Whitestone!! Soon will come to queens

I think we will see it Launch next year things are going so slow sprint need to work faster. As i was reading report Verizon will be done with its LTE by mid of 2013 and getting rid of 3G and 1X everyone should get a 4G LTE phone. I understand sprint is rebuilding there sites but they are taking way to long.

The storm is going to delay LTE in NYC

Union Square and the rest of Lower Manhattan are 3G heaven. And this is mid day so everyone is one their phone. Isn't NV a blessing.

I think that by next week the tower around my house in queen should have LTE I see alcatel Lucent adding new antenna to to site and my service has been going on and off since. They are adding the new LTE radios and antennas as soon as I see LTE ill let you guys know

Don't believe that article ! They don't work for sprint to know stuff let's just wait and see we never know what could happen

NYC is a priority city so we should get LTE soon.
-
Exactly as our friend AndyNYC stated, it will just be a prelaunch. Although Chicago is near 50% complete, most of the Chicago sites are in the suburbs. Little to none are in the actual city of Chicago. Although the 4G will only be usable for 5 minutes, over time, you'll see that amount of time increase to the point where the 4G will blanket most of the city and you won't have a problem anymore. I understand that announcing and it isn't citywide will make customers angry, but I think it will be even worse for them to hold out longer on an announcement for the largest and arguably, most important city for Sprint.
Yup that's what I mean since it will be a prelaunch as time goes by 4G LTE will blanket most of the city

I think they will do okay is just a pre launch it doesn't mean is that you are going to get LTE everywhere

I feel like so many NV towers are simply being blocked. For most of the initial launch markets 20% or less was completed. NV production in the city is really starting to speed up and no one said it will be announced day 1. There are 30 days in November. You never know, maybe the tower you are connected to will have 4G.
Yea I feel like most of the towers in my area are blocked cause I saw alcatel Lucent at the site near my house adding the new antenna and LTE soon it should be completed
-
we never know they can release in November

-
You should have it definitely by November.

yea by November it should be in the whole city as i could see on Network.sprint.com all the speed upgrades has been done in the pass 6 months so soon they will unblock all the LTE towers they have on those towers on in the Bronx might of been left on but in 2 weeks or less we should see more LTE pop up in the city i hope so
-
I'm in a area when there is 4G but it switches back to 3G. When it's back on 4G it becomes impossible to send messages.

They might be testing it! in my area in corona queens they upgrading the towers i saw them putting up the new LTE antenna but idk when will it be running cause my service has been off and on since last week
-
How do I do that?
All you have to do is donate something to keep the page running. Here all the info on how to do it http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/
-
Yea next month!!! Did they state this somewhere?
You need to become a S4GRU Sponsor to be able to see the maps which have NV completed
-
It's not how much space they cover, as much as tower density. There are so many towers that your phone will constantly switch, and on top of that, you are surrounded by brick and metal structures which will kill that connection. In my experience much of Brooklyn has usable service.
Yup true but with the NV it should be better
