First 4G site in Staten Island

It was their since last week!!

Today I passed by Queens College Around reeves ave and kissena Blvd and saw some workers adding new LTE panels up on a tower. Maybe it was sprint upgrading there panels and adding LTE Radios

I see that around East 59 street and East 96 street there's a LTE signal checkout the sensorly map!

finally getting my galaxy note 2 today. was going to wait for LG optimus G 2 or galaxy s4, but couldnt use my galaxy s any longer. i will try to go around parts of queens and see any place has LTE lit up.

Go check around Jamacia Ave maybe you'll spot one

Looks like there's 4G LTE around W 112 st between Fifth ave and Lenox ave

The speed was horrible though

i think he did the speed test before he was in a 4G LTE area and took a screen shot while he was connected to 4G

That may be true, but it's not lit up is it? I don't see any in the sensorly maps.

 

Off-topic: Speaking of which, if I zoom out in the sensorly map of NYC, I can't help but to think it looks like a Contagion type virus that erupted in the Bronx and just now started in the middle of Brooklyn. lol

Not in my area but in queens village they have 1 tower with LTE

Yeah, if you look at the updates you can see that New York is catching up again, finally after the last month and a half of almost no updates. It is going great in my opinion. I just wish that the tower nearest me got upgraded already.

The one near me got NV 3G completed but the speed are still the same but sometime I get good speed during the night and morning!! If 3G is completed does that mean that 4G must be competed but not on yet ?

That's one of the key things to remember with any unannounced market. You may have service and availability for a few weeks, but it will change depending on work.

Yea also in my area I have some nice 3G speeds with the NV but now it when back down to slow data!! Soon we should see it improve with all the upgrades coming!

They launched LTE in a few more cities even in PR. and CA !! Maybe by Q1 we will see LTE all over NYC and in some part of long Island!!

It shows light purple in that area, which should reflect a weak, but some type of signal.

That purple you are seeing their means that its an airport. All airport are purple on google and apple maps

 

 

LTE extended to prepaid subs?? Like Virgin and Boost Mobile?? I don't think so. Virgin and Boost Mobile now have 4G phones for purchase but they are 4G WiMax phones NOT 4G LTE phones. Sprint may have some wholesale agreements for LTE but I don't know the details of any such agreements.

Yup sprint will have 4G LTE on Virgin mobile and Boostmobile by the 1Q

Tell me about it, I'm tired of this:

I hate using 3G on my iphone 5 its so slow and i call sprint they do network tickets and tehy tell me everything is fine with the towers near your house. I NEED LTE NOW!!! lol

OMG, how about the most populated borough of the them all, Brooklyn!

Right queens and Brooklyn are the most populated and they still havent even put one up they are working so slow

I'm still waiting in queens. Sprint is working so slow!! they are only focused in the Bronx and some parts of manhattan.

Are these sprint new vision cell site I see they have radios on back of the antenna is that for the LTE

Not yet we all just need to wait and see what will happen from now till Jan.

There is a blip of LTE showing up on 96st on 2nd ave on the east side of Manhattan..hopefully means there is LTE near that area..

Maybe they are working a bit faster now and getting LTE to other places cause the bronx looks like its about 90% done.
