  1. Yesterday I noticed some guy at the site ( on the electrical tower ) at Lancaster Ave & Tomahawk Trail ( Slightly off East Broad ) ...so I drove by today and now there is a backhoe parked right next to the site. I couldn't drive too slow with cars behind me - but I really thought one of those cabinets on the ground looked like Sprint NV.

I've been on vacation but I'll check it out tomorrow.

  2. I only made one that actually prioritizes 800SMR over PCS and it was in the Premier Sponsor area.  I didn't repeat it when I made the one for the regular sponsor area since setting priority on 800SMR when on a Airave 2.5 causes huge issues as it makes your phone do 1x scan loop.

    Gotcha, no worries.

  3. I don't think anyone wants those anymore. But if I remember right 21xxx PRLs have 800SMR as a lower priority level than PCS, just like the Iphone PRL.

We've probably been over this somewhere, but is there a way to get a PRL on an iPhone that prioritizes 800SMR?

  4. It's also looking as if a site is not 3G accepted already as of today, it will not be activated with LTE by the end of 2013. There will be a good amount of LTE but will not be a benefit to inside the outerbelt. Don't give up your WiFi yet Columbus. :wall:

Thankfully I'm not inside the outerbelt. :)

  5. I just wanted to give a big thanks and introduce you all to those that have accepted volunteering roles with the Columbus Market Spreadsheet & Map.

I want to thank anyone I may have missed as well. With your post, we were able to make the spreadsheet as accurate as possible.

Side note: My wife is in Chicago until Wednesday. Look what she had the nerve to send me last night.

  6. After reading what some customer have said on Sprint forums it's very possible Columbus will go thru some 'birth pain's so-to-speak.

I mean lets say by Dec - LTE is indeed pretty heavy in Columbus - but not yet near a launch. We can expect NV equipment - along with LTE - to be - yes- up and running, but it's also a lot of tuning and testing. Just because the equipment is running doesn't mean it's yet tuned up to race ready performance.

And In other cities that were already launched - even those cities are improving weekly /daily ..as we speak..

Well it's not going to be perfect in December but it should be very usable in the city.

  7. LTE install somewhere in Ohio. Enjoy a look from 165'.

Today's post has been brought to you by Sprint, the letters GN and the number 2.

I think I'm going to be sick. And I saw the other one before from much higher. That was worse, but that was still hard to watch.

  8. He said Akron was done. By done I am assuming that means at least lte ready. I didn't ask for specifics and don't plan on visiting anytime soon to find out for myself. :-)

Yeah I wouldn't hold your breath for that. He may have been speaking about some normal maintenance upgrades for Akron. Likely he had no clue what he was talking about.

  9. I do believe it was approved by Sprint when I went up... That was the only way I knew to go...lol. However, my phone was acting goofy that day which is why I probably didn't pick it up.

Ah okay, I thought you were saying that you went up there before it was approved. Yeah must have been your phone then unless they were making adjustments while you were driving around.

  10. Its signed off as being there. I've been told however that even when sites go live that there are multiple trips back to the tower to fine tune and adjust.

I meant that he went there before it was approved by Sprint, so 800 may not have been live at that time.

  11. When I went to the tower a few days ago, I didn't pick up the 1x 800 on that tower. However, my phone was being "interesting" that day as well so that probably was why I didn't pick it up.

It was just launched so 1x 800 may not have been active at the time.

  12. There is a brand new cell tower going up on the corner of Havens corner and Wagner out in Blacklick. Hope its gonna be getting Sprint LTE.

You mean Waggoner, correct? I don't see that on the sponsor side as a site to receive upgrades, but like you said, it may be a new site. Or it may not be Sprint.

  13. Hey, I didn't want to be greedy. I figured, he'd pass at least two of them on a normal drive.

    True true.

thenight, what do you mean by running the ethernets? Are you talking about how at sites they're working on they could be temporarily turning off the cabinets while they connect the new ones to fiber that has been run to the site?
