  1. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Battery

I was going to post this in the other thread but thought it may hold it own. This topic normally does. Just on a whim, and to tease my family that I talked into getting the S3 (7 now), I'm running the battery to see how long I can get it under normal conditions as I normally live out my day. Then Ill go for the Best time.

    NORMAL:

GN2 was fully charged via the 2 amp USB charger it comes with. Stopped at 9%. (about the time I normally screw up and forget to charge it over night).

Total Battery Time: 23:14:36 on Battery

    Talk time: 1:49:27

    Texts: 142

    Email: Sent: 15 Rec: 24

    My mods:

    • Stock
    • Deleted most apps
    • Apps that update only do so twice a day and weather ea hour.
    • Black background
    • I deleted the Connection Optimizer
    • I deleted Email and Exchange Server

Network: Mostly WiFi, Then 4G, then a little 3G.

Notes: I did plugin a couple times to my Desktop to move over a couple file to mod the feature.xml. I also never use WiFi Direct, but I did last night and sent a ton of pics to my Wife's S3. I'm also about 3700ft from my tower.

    Screen Shots:

    BEST:

I'll post this in a couple days.

  2. The Galaxy SII Demo at our store has really, really bad burn-in. It's supposed to run a demo loop, but the demo has issues freezing up on the final frame, and not looping for sometimes hours at a time. As a result, there's a very visible Sprint logo burnt in to the center of the screen.

    eeeew.

  3. Love it but a couple things are driving me nuts. I may be forced to look in the manual. <sigh>

I have wifi off in settings and turn it off with the pull down settings thing but it keeps turning it self back on.

I think its the connection manager but haven't found a solution yet.

My battery didn't last a full day at work is the other thing but I think Astro file manager may have done me in

It showed 42% of the battery use https://play.google....om.metago.astro

Some of the reviews had more home screens and neater transitions than what I have. The settings to update this stuff isn't a easy as it should be to find IMHO.

    Guys at work loved it

Its the Sprint Connection Optimizer. It will kick on as soon as it sees a saved network.

My battery life seems identical to the GS3 so far. I was hoping for better battery life because the battery is 50% larger. But I'm just glad its not worse. :tu:

Although, it may be better. It's hard to tell. I haven't put the thing down for the past two days.

I'm seeing a lot better, but... I don't run any apps that update more than twice a day and I've deleted 80% of the stock apps including Email and Exchange Server. I have 20 apps in my drawer (6 of them are hidden). I popped out the Battery and fully charged it on a external charger and I'm sitting at about 27% as of right now. Medium usage. I'm at 1day 4 hours. I did plug in a couple times while in my truck for about 15-20 mins. Mostly Wifi and Lte now that if grabs outside my house.

  4. So out in the real world today officially with the Note 2. With out a doubt, it response to the network way better than the S3. Its picks up Lte a lot faster and holds it like a big boy. None of this bouncing around stuff. Speeds are the same. But man, I can walk out side and use my phone now. The S3 would sit there and bounce back and fourth making impossible. Love the fifth row numbers. Took 1/4 the time to load my 12k text messages back in, as to the S3. No lag opening the messaging app after loading 12k text messages back in. S3 took at least a min, and sometimes crashed. Lol

  5. Its way to odd. He could pass off as someone in IT just selling stuff, but he has to odd of a mix kinda like a pawn shop. but a pawn shop wouldn't take the networking stuff. Like he works for places and sells stuff he gets, or from friends. I'm asking the seller for the back story on it. He's 10 mins from me. lol.

He got the close ups better than me. damn...

  6. Okay, I found a cm feature that I greatly miss, editable lock screen.

I've replaced half the stock apps and don't want their links on the lock screen

You can turn off the shortcuts on the lockscreen

  7. After how bad the development was on the sprint Galaxy s2, I'll be happy with stock root for quite some time

I hate the S3 Forums at XDA. Mods suck, and 80% of it is hate threads. Won't give it the time of day. Didn't feel like helping dev anything for them. I miss our Epic forums and people. I hope the Note2 will be better. I think I might keep it. I went to use the flash light and it was half the power of my S3 and I about S*i&. (stock widget) Use Tiny Flashlight by Nikolay, he a cool guy. Strobe works too. lol

  8. There wasn't a line here. Walked in at 12pm. I'm still 50/50 about it. Feel like I need that push. A thing that sells me on a phone is the Development too, and I. Have a feeling its going to be real weak. You guys really feel its better than the S3?

  9.

I'll be in Watkinsville for Christmas in a couple months. I assume I should have great LTE coverage all around Athens by that point. Good to hear.

Nope, leave it off. Don't do it. Life will not be the same at home. It changes a person and you don't get that innocence back. :P

  10. The GS3 is proven to be dimmer than either of the previous 2 generation Galaxy S's. Actually, the original Galaxy S is brighter than both the S2 and the S3 (source: http://www.displayma..._ShootOut_1.htm). I can confirm with having owned the Epic 4G and Epic 4G Touch (which I still have and could do side-by-side comparisons).

Never mind trusting someone else's comparison. I just know while using my Epic, I always complained about being outside with it. I haven't had the issue as much with the S3 and I know I've heard others say the same. But, I haven't literally compared them side by side so you might be right. I will try it and see.

  11. I'm torn. I want the phone but I will loose 4g till who knows when. The size is really going to be a love hate deal. I will love the 5.5 inch display but man its big. I guess I have 2 weeks to take it back if I can't live with the size or .3g.

    DO IT!! :D

I'm going to play with it for a few days too. See if its worth losing my GS3 for it, as the wife said I can't have both. :(

  12. LCDs do better in the sun. But, the GS3 is way better than any of the older amoled screens. It may not be as bright as an LCD, but you can see your screen. Never the case with the GS1 or GS2.
