Is performance wise the same as 15x15?

Is performance wise the same as 15x15?

No.

UL wise it's limited to whatever is the PCC at the time ie 10 or 5 MHz.

DL is slighty affected  due fact it's two different LTE carriers being aggregated together. As they're independent LTE carriers and on different (though close) frequencies they are susceptible to other environmental factors which may not impact a single contiguous 15 MHz carrier. In most situations the DL performance would be very close but not identical.

Sprint has 15x15 b25 at midway airport and 3xCA b41.  Downloaded 2 netflix episodes in less than 10 mins. Very impressed!!

That's 10+5 carrier aggregation and not 15x15. Note the 10 MHz carrier @ 8290 EARFCN and the 5 MHz carrier @ 8665 EARFCN.

3. lilotimz I’m pretty sure the map was made by a user of this site RAvirani?

i also can’t see my post. Was it deleted?
Moved to premier section post as his map is from from that section.

4. I believe this is a backhaul issue. Many small cells in the BX seem to have limited backhaul. Even when completely unloaded never going over 35mbs.
But, they do get there job done, at least to relieve come congestion on the macro site.
Many of then are running LTE relay for backhaul so that's about an average speed for a single carrier given the donor macro is probably a bit loaded.

Anyone else notice Mobilitie using green Steele poles for Sprint's small cells inside the city limits? Very odd they would paint their poles considering Houston has no zoning ordinances. Even more odd they aren't using wooden poles in order to save costs.

These are likely multi sector mini macro sites. We've got up close pictures and information on one such example that is progress.

6. Still no improvement for my airave. It keeps cycling on both sides. At most I get around 10 minutes where everything is green and fine, then it cycles. After a long while, the net and lte lights will go solid red on the data side, and the wan on the CDMA side will go solid red. Then after some more time, it will cycle again, rinse, and repeat. I'm at a loss as to how to get this thing working. Putting it in front of my router is not an option, due to the placement of my router. I do have a sprint airave tech calling tomorrow, but I'm not hopeful that this thing will work.

Have you set it up with the GPS antenna properly placed?

7. Yes 4x2 is live on both low and mid bands for both providers.
We’re seeing mostly 4x2 MIMO on T-Mobile’s 600 MHz towers that are coming up as well.
All 600 MHz equipment are 4x4 radios (4x2 at UE level).

Att and Verizon and in some siteareas Tmobile they're retrofitting sites to 4x4 eNB setups on 700 and 800mhz by using two lowband antennas + two sub 1ghz radios.

Can you remind me why the 700 MHz E Block cannot be aggregated with non-700 lowband, Cellular or SMR for example?

Separation required for sub 1 ghz frequencies is troublesome. It's why low band inter and intraband CA has not been implemented and 4x4 MIMO on sub 1ghz frequencies at UE level is almost impossible.

Me either!

It is referred to as the "AU 544" on my account. My second gen is the AU 545.

The shipping confirmation says:

ASPANMBGN2 AIRSPAN AU544MAGICBX GEN2

Oh that's the gen 2. It just has a different wifi chipset. Not gen3.

Actual gen3 name will have gen3 in it.

This be Gen 3

I've got a Gen 3 Magic Box being shipped to my house, should be here in a few days. If nobody beats me to it I'll post pics.

Should be similar to my GEN1 in terms of articles (lcd display, external battery).

Can't wait to see it!

Of course.. I would prefer loosing all Evdo for increased LTE, but leaving the 1x voice carrier and 1x800.

Ah but you forget that there are potentially multiple 1x Voice carriers to meet voice demand and people complain about 1x voice quality in several regions where cdma has been thinned. It's a delicate balancing act for sure when refarming spectrum.

12. I am never on 3G in NYC, The only time my phone drops off of LTE is in basements or elevators. But when that happens my phone is usually only on 1x800.  The only other time is in Penn Station. I find B26 usually drops around the same time EVDO drops.  Curious what the hold up is.
Yes but that's your experience in the areas your transit. Sprint would have info on specific areas where such usage requirements are still high especially CDMA 1x voice usage.

Evdo may be relatively unloaded these days but the 1x carriers may not be considering volte is not live and calling plus is not widespread.

The MB can't connect to B41 if it's not there... it broadcasts B41 only, but it will connect to a macro on B25 or B41. The only qualifications are 1. that the macro's signal is strong enough to use, and 2. Sprint has the B41 spectrum required for the MB in that location

Backend implementation is needed hence why Shentel land doesn't work at this moment.
