  1. Sprint's fiscal year has not ended as of December 2016, Mr. Smart. Tmobile has as of December 2016.

Add up the last 4 quarters of Sprint's data from January to December 2016 if you want to compare apples to apples. You pull the data on march 2016 (Sprint's last completed) fiscal year and tell me Tmo completed fiscal year number dated Dec. 2016.

Why am I wasting my time! I wonder sometimes why we rank at the bottom of the chart in STEM for developed nations. I am experiencing it first hand today. LOL

Okay then Sprint's operating income is $310M for the 2015 fiscal year, NOT THE QUARTER when you were blatantly WRONG, and T-Mobile's was $2B for the year of 2015. I was wrong on T-Mobile's number but I didn't come out swinging based on the assumption that I was posting a quarterly result. You acted like you're superior and more educated, and you're still wrong on your assumption. And you know what they say about people who assume, so do us both a favor and stop talking.
  2. You are terrible at this. You are comparing March 2016 (Sprint) data to December 2016 (Tmobile) data.

I am going to stop responding to you until you know how bad you are at this.

Have you ever heard of reporting financial statements at the end of the FISCAL year? Which ends in MARCH?

The only one who has no idea WHAT they're talking about is you.

  3. I think the most surprising thing that I've found when going back to look [emoji102] at T-Mobile customer numbers was that their ABPU is 7% lower than Sprint, their ARPU is 17% lower than Sprint's, and their postpaid phone numbers went up through the entirety of Uncarrier from 20 million to 32 million. That's barely more than Sprint. The largest engine of their growth has been prepaid.

Sprint would be in a better position if not for the past bad debt and bad decisions.

Yet Sprint's operating income is $310M, while T-Mobile's is $3.8B. Those numbers, IIRC, wouldn't be affected by debt repayment or taxes, only net income would be.

  4. i hate snap dragon...really...they go back to a quadcore....thats like from the mid 2000s....we need more computing power not less...

The iPhone was dual core until last year, and the iPhone 7 is quad core but only uses 2 cores at a time depending on whether you need high performance or battery efficiency. More cores does not always mean better performance, otherwise AMD would be everyone's go to. It's all about instructions per cycle efficiency, and that's something Apple & Snapdragon have really mastered.

  5. What did you guys expect was going to happen? It was posted here since late last week what we were going to get today. They gave you 10GB and premium streaming while being cheaper than Verizon so what's the complaint now, that they couldn't get you off of ED1500? That sounds like a personal problem.

Hey, when you've been with Sprint for nearly 20 years and your bill is at $270, and everyone else has better service and the rates are better PLUS integrated tax or free phones, the grass looks much more greener. Sprint isn't terrible but they're not trying to keep us with them, it's like our loyalty means nothing to them meanwhile current customers on other networks get all sorts of bells and whistles. I'm not asking for free stuff on Tuesday or movie tickets for friends or whatever, but if you can cut my rate to $230 and maybe possibly throw in hotspot, that would be pretty nice.

  6. If Sprint doesn't offer this new Unlimited Freedom pricing to all existing customers on Unlimited Freedom and Legacy Plans, like Everything Data and Unlimited My Way, I think there's going to be a real problem with ports out.

I tried getting them to give me the $160 for 4 lines deal with waived subsidy fees, we're customers for 18 years. The bill is almost $270 and new people get away with much less. It's ridiculous, they couldn't work something out and they're fine with me switching.

  7. My executive services rep yesterday stated that....We'll see if he's wrong or not!!!!

All I know is it's supposed to include 10gb hotspot so far.

A few people in the subreddit say that they'll be offering Unlimited Freedom with HD + 10GB Hotspot for existing customers and they'll waive the subsidy fees. Some of the employees confirm it, so I guess we'll see tomorrow.

  8. After thinking about this for a while, I doubt Sprint is going to get either T-Mobile or Dish. I think what will happen is if AT&T doesn't get T-Mobile, Dish will. If AT&T does get T-Mobile, then Verizon will get Dish. Although I've been quite the supporter of AT&T getting T-Mobile, I'm thinking it is more likely that Dish will get T-Mobile, which would set up a good, strong competitive situation between that of Dish/T-Mobile and AT&T/DirecTv.

Verizon is going to need extra spectrum eventually, as they currently have the least spectrum per customer of all wireless carriers. From that perspective, I can envision Sprint breaking up as the result of Softbank's desire to sell Sprint if it can't get T-Mobile or some other thing accomplished Masayoshi Son might have in mind, figuring how difficult it is to figure out the true intentions he has. After all, he originally claimed to having wanted a strong U.S. carrier, yet he seems unwilling to spend the money necessary on network improvements for Sprint, in order to do this.

None of that is happening. T-Mobile is getting Dish. T-Mobile's financials are superior, and at this point I doubt DT wants to give them up. 5 years ago T-Mobile US was a burden but now it's an easy way to make money, it would be stupid for them to throw that away. Acquiring Dish would mean DT gets even more value and income, so there's no reason why they would want to throw away a great opportunity like that. AT&T will not get T-Mobile because, first of all, they cannot afford T-Mobile with all the debt they've created through major multi billion dollar purchases, and second of all, no one will let them get away with it. All eyes are on AT&T for the crap they're trying to pull with Time Warner. And again, even if AT&T COULD do it, I doubt DT would throw away a crown jewel.

  9. New guy here...very close to getting 7+. From reading this thread, it seems (to my untrained eyes) that 7 has Qualcomm X12 LTE modem, right? It can do 2 CA up and 4 CA down. IF so, does FCC say if it has 4x4MIMO antenna? (I am asking because my brother is interested for ATT and Tmo.)

    Thanks in advance.

It most likely does not support 4x4 MIMO because the AT&T and T-Mobile model is separate from Sprint & VZ's. The GSM model is believed to use an Intel modem that does not have any support for 4x4 MIMO.
  10. When done right, OLED is the better display in terms of color, saturation, and contrast. It can't be beat. LG's OLED 4K HDR TVs are wonderful.

However, in a phone you wanna go for LCD. While OLED should save battery when blacks are on, it actually uses more energy than any LCD to produce certain colors like white. So while it'll look great on a phone, LCD is ultimately better for battery life since the energy consumption between color production is constant.
