  1. In the martinez nadal road, near the train station. In the villa venecia apartment buildings. I was sitting in my car waiting for someone and I looked at my phone and had 4G there. Had it for a little bit, then the 4G signal dissapeared completely. Turned LTE only, went close to some of the sprint towers and none had LTE. Came back today again and no LTE anywhere in Guaynabo. Had eHRPD tough at plaza guaynabo. With a blistering fast 3g speed of 50kbps! -_- At least we know they are working on them! We have made it this far, LTE is just around the corner. 2. Had some pretty strong LTE in guaynabo yesterday, today I couldnt get a signal in the exact location. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Lol definetly, even if I was to get 2mbps and he was to get 20mbps I would have just said "Let's run it a few more times to see whose data runs out faster!" That would have killed him right there Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  4. I know for sure you can get a signal in Plaza del Sol. I have had great coverage in there before. A member recently said he got a signal near Rio Hondo but his signal was weak which means it was from a more distant tower. Now Plaza las Americas is a great mall, but it has been a hellhole forever! Very little signal in most of the mall and you only get 1 to 2 bars of 1x on the top floor. And this isnt only with Sprint it has happened with AT&T also. So I doubt you will have 4G in there in the near future. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Lol so funny you said that! It actually happened to me. I got to school one morning and there it was the 4G icon on my GS3. So I tell my friend that has a GS3 on AT&T that I have 4G now. He then told me his is better because it says LTE on the side and that mine wasnt LTE. We proceeded to run some speedtests. His AT&T phone got 8 mbp download and mine got 25 mbp. He hasnt mentioned the LTE icon since Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Still have some great speed for a mediocre signal! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Im pretty sure its the Palmas Gas Station site. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Im surprised you were lossing the connection when you were that close to the tower Im wondering if you could be connecting to another tower, since you should be getting higher speedtests. I know there is a LTE ready tower at the palmas gas station which is not that far away. Could you be connecting to that one? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I had no idea that protection sites had no downtilt. I learn something everyday I also wanted to add that if you were to go on a roadtrip or something similar when you are constantly moving from one site to another the handoff is incredibly slow. Very ineficient for a cell phone in my opinion. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Anybody that has used wimax knows that it only works outside. As soon as you go inside a building you are basically screwed. Even if Sprint was able to put wimax in every single tower you would have so many deadzones it is not even funny. Especially here in Puerto Rico where the houses are made of concrete I could be 1/4 of a mile away from a wimax site and have no signal at all indoors, let alone 1 mile away. Now that we have LTE it goes through walls a lot easier. It might not be as good as AT&T's LTE going through walls, but its unlimited and way faster depending on the areas. Wimax is very similar to wifi in some ways and it is not the ideal thing for cell phones where you are constantly moving around. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Is that here in PR? If it is where did you take it and how? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Oh my god! Every freaking tower is 1x today in the metro area! And even tough I get 1x it does not have any connectivity to the internet. Hopefully they will light everything up soon. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Mapping trip from Bayamon to Guavate. Great 4G coverage in Caguas! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  14. Found this pic in Tecnetico.com. If anybody has the same pic without the annoying watermarks please put it up!
  15. Man, if I was the owner of that building I would grab a ladder put my phone exactly in front of the panel and run some speedtests. Lol Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  16. The reason why I think Culebra,Vieques and St. Thomas will have fiber is because they are too far from the island and the backhaul from the island does not reach that far so the only thing left is to connect it directly with fiber.
  17. Microwave is better for getting data from one site to another. It is very cost effiective, and it is rapidly deployed. Obiously a direct fiber connection is better but the deployment would take a lot longer and it would cost sprint a lot more. The only diference between a tower with a direct fiber connection and a microwave connection are ping times. I remember reading here about 20ms ping times if im not mistaken. Microwave is also more reliable and it meets current and future demands. In my opinion, if a site gets microwave backhaul then great! If it gets fiber backhaul then even better!.
  18. I can not wait till all of them go online. I have noticed that even tough they have been LTE accepted they are not always turned ON if you will.
  19. Maybe you connected to eHRPD on the San Lorenzo tower and connected to voice on one of the closest towers. Not sure if that is how it works. Just my 2 cents.
