  1. Well US Cellular is a public company so it's really up to the majority owners & if the FCC approves. And yes it could work but Sprint already has good spectrum holdings, they can cell the cellular license to make some money (or a spectrum swap) and just layer the USCC network with B26, B25 (possibly 10x10 or more 5x5 carriers), and B41.

I wouldn't say good holdings. Sprint needs more FDD-LTE. Band41 yes they own alot, but, The signal is not good alot the time.at home it get mostly -115. very slow.

  2. Thats the name of the game. Marketing at its finest. Wake up!! Open your eyes. T-Mobile and Verizon are experts at fraudulent marketing. Especially T-Mo, as of late. Here in Phx, VZW shows a blanket of solid LTE coverage, yet I know multiple people with late model VZW LTE phones that frequent unusable 3G service on a daily basis. Looks like you took the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

    Oh I know T-Mobile is

  3. It most definitely includes roaming LTE...but even then I'm having a bit of a hard time with that number.

If that includes Roaming thats the way to make people mad. People dont care about the cost to the phone company they want native coverage not roaming. Thats why Alot of people I know use Verzion. Coverage. Coverage is my complain. I also question  their LTE coverageg numbers. Here in Minnesota and, wisconsin, they still have 3G only areas. why. 3G should be all covered with LTE.

  4. Hence the reason for Sprint's newest ads that focus on showing that Sprint is faster and more reliable than Verizon or at&t or T-Mobile. I feel that the Sprint name should stick and when the time is right, people will wake up to the fact that the "New" Sprint is far better than the "Old" Sprint was in 2012- mid 2015.

Sprint still has work to do. Faster than vzw. So so on that one. Test 2xca yesterday. 55 Mbps vzw in the same location almost 100. Sprint needs to build out to atleast att's Coverage.

  5. It would help a lot in a lot of places, but as far as we know the owners of US Cellular are not willing to sell the company. Such a merger is discussed frequently here because USCC is a good fit for Sprint from an asset and footprint standpoint, but it looks like USCC is content to be an independent roaming partner for the foreseeable future.

For a carrier that isnt nationwide USCC is a rip off. 60 dollars for1GB of data. Would sprint be able to increase band 26 to 10x10 in USCC areas if they bought them out?

  6. Although not nearly as much as I wanted this to happen in the past, I still think it would be a good idea for Dish to attempt to merge with T-Mobile. Although, that isn't looking so likely nowadays. Perhaps T-Mobile might purchase the spectrum when it becomes cheap enough, at least I'm hoping that would happen. I'd like for them to get more spectrum, after all.

    Why Tmobile and, NOT Sprint?

  7. Mankato back to 3G speeds with full bars. How disappointing.

Yeah not good. I was the one that reported a 2nd band 25 in Minnesota. Saw it on the Twin Cities. That was a month ago. Now I'm not seeing it. Sprint has Shutdown a good amount CDMA here Hopefully that's a sign of something higher than 5x5 coming to Minnesota. Especially in places with no band 41.

  8. They should probably hire some better people then because it's been like this for the last 10 years [emoji23]

Lol. I think it's something they just recently started doing.

  9. All we really need in Seattle is an extra 5-6 dbm on LTE which I'm sure B26 will be able to provide. Also, funny you say that about Verizon because I've found Verizons coverage in Seattle to be TERRIBLE. No service at my house, I am routinely unable to establish a data session while out and about, lots of 1x - their site spacing could be a lot better. I am baffled by their root metrics score - I guess I just happen to only spend my time in their dead spots lol

Verizon has people they pay to drive around and, search for dead spots. So sometime that could change if someone finds it.

  10. Well I used to have a dual band device (B25 and B26) and it was terrible. Extremely spotty. Lucky for us, clear had a super dense network and since nearly all of their towers have received B41, it is a lot better. For example at my house, I would see 1x/3G at dbms of -105ish with my iPhone 5S but now I get -108ish B41 from a nearby clear conversion. There are drops to 3G but they are few and rare because sites have been quite well optimized here. There are a lot of fringe areas where I'm at -114ish LTE where it would be nice to have B26 to fall back on though.

Nice. I live in Minnesota. Here Sprint needs better site dense even with band 26 sometimes there is drops to 3G. Tho the building I work at has alot of medal. So even my Verizon work phone loses LTE

  11. They filed for a bunch of B26 installations which were approved by the FCC but nothing live yet (at least that anyone has seen)

Are there drops to 3G due to not having band 26.

  12. Hard to tell. With all of the clear conversions, B41 is pretty much everywhere - even more so than B25. If I see B25 at all, it's usually in the -114 to -118 range so I can never really get a good speed test (it's usually 8-15 Mbps down or so in the -114 to -118 range). B26 cannot come soon enough for us though...

Wait there's not band 26 or there? Tho it's close to Canada so I can see it. Thought it was already there

  13. I know. I was the one that reported 10x10 when it was first launched in Seattle. We've had it for quite a while now.

Still delivering good data speeds I hope?

  14. Does anyone know how to acquire the GCI of a site on an iPhone? We can see Phisical Cell ID, Tracking Area Code and Cell Identity. Is there a way to derive the GCI with this information?

    attachicon.gif image.png

That looks like a 10x10 carrier.

  15. Yes. Slowly but surely I am quietly squashing bugs, but I have not tackled this specific one yet.

I did, however, confirm this morning that I have resolved the issue with limited LTE information being displayed when 1X+LTE appear together on newer devices!

    -Mike

Was told by David, to remind you of this. It's still showing band 25 when on Clearwire. Yes I installed the update.
