  1. I guess someone hasn't seen the AT&T Facebook page.

All carriers have their issues, but if you look hard at what Sprint is doing, that once they get their current network rebuild done, that they'll be fine. Sprint PR can handle all this better though, a nice "Pardon Our Dust" page explaining Network Vision would be a nice start.

I agree. They need to be working on getting the message out they they are WORKING and acknowledge the issues at hand. There is still yet to be anything mentioning their NV on their homepage. With almost 70 markets and 200+ in the works I would think that when people see that "THE NEW SPRINT IS COMING"... they might consider that they might be the better option. Sure, now, Sprint has their issues, but the hope that is promised that we all know of is not very well communicated to the eyes of your everyday consumer.

...the simple half page flyer in your bill on the 3rd page isn't going to get anyone to believe your serious.

  2. I drove past two West Michigan sites today that had crews at, and up on the towers. Several trucks around and it looked like Sprint panel sections from what I've gathered Sprints panels look like....

One in downtown Kalamazoo on the east side..

..and another off of I-94 (I saw work last week as well) closer to Battle Creek.

No pics, as I was driving but I would LOVE to see new maps! Hopefully a lot more GR and KZOO, LAN sites start coming up! Michigan was supposed to originally launch around March, we'll see...

  3. Went to apple today to fix a button issue on my phone only to get a brand new one but then I noticed some network issues at my house that usually never occur. I gave up trying ##UPDATE# a million times and called.

The man informed me that my area, including most of Michigan but especially, what he could see, all of Kalamazoo, MI was preparing and receiving some prep work tonight for the "4G LTE Network Vision Upgrade"... It will be interesting to see the new maps come in.... This man said he worked closely with the network management and engineer team too.

You don't need to become a premier sponsor to see most of the information, however, I'm not discouraging becoming a premier sponsor. If you have questions you can send s4gru (Robert) a message and he will get back to you.

  5. What do I have to do for Sponsorship?

again, I think they are being cautious about announcing their lte until they are confident they will be perceived well. Also, if you would like to know where work has been done, is being done, and is about to be done (permits). Become a sponsor and you can see everything. I also think Sprint has way more money than you think, they are actually set up nicely to finish network vision. And based on the recent explosion of new market work, I think they are definitely turning the corner and should begin a big lte marketing campaign in the next few months.

  6. I would highly recommend becoming a sponsor of this site and you can see the progress I've been talking about. I personally agree with Sprint not being to public about markets they are working on until they are complete. Sprint has to worry a lot about perception right now A's if they say a market has lte and it is very thinly lit, they may do more harm then not announcing it.

Exactly but they should and can still show us what they are going to do.. a coming soon never hurt anyone haha. With almost 60 markets complete they have enough to run their first LTE commercial in my opinion as they have not run any. I am going to bet that with money so tight they have to use it only to run their deals on devices?

  7. I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be new sightings of with popping up everywhere. So I would say there have been plenty of new launches.

Well call me proud, which I am very proud of Sprint, but their competitors have been showing off their LTE networks this whole year (especially Verizon) and Sprint hasn't. I am well aware that Sprint still has lower coverage than those two (gaining, especially on ATT) but it would help them A LOT marketing wise, and I have said this before on here, to pull a Verizon LTE commercial stunt that they aired back in Dec 2010. (The barn and the lightning)

We all know Sprint is doing a heck of a lot to its Network at rates faster than any other carrier because they are re-doing it ALL. But what would help them consumer wise, both existing (to keep them on their network) as well as bringing new customers in is to market that they in fact have "The Network of the future underway". I would love to give Sprint Marketing department a piece of my mind as it is amazing what one commercial, done correctly, can do to the minds of American consumers. It would give Sprint the push they need in Q1 2013.

But to connect those two points, if all these new places are popping up, I would like to see slightly more publication about it from Sprint so all these journalists can quit bashing them about how their network will never equal that of VZWs or ATTs. Just my take on things...

I will be traveling to Houston next weekend and I am wondering what the signals and LTE performance is like at IAH- Houston Intercontinental all the way down into the heart of Downtown? How is the signal doing going through skyscrapers?

  9. I have posted something about the picture on the LTE page not showing the speed differences enough, but now that they are becoming more robust and really pushing the rollout, why don't they give the 4G site a new look and more features?

They should also put something about it on their homepage... "The Network of the Future is underway!" would look great, and should be in commercials too!

Any thoughts or inside people at Sprint know if they are working on this?

I like the sleek look and powerful look of Verizon's 4G page, and the simplicity and explanation of two 4G technologies that AT&T has (Sprint has two now..)

In my opinion, now that LTE is officially the future.. its time for an upgrade.

  10. Now that we know the Sprint version of the iPhone 5 will be able to go on all of the new bands including the 800 for CDMA, 1900 LTE/ CDMA, etc... However, it will also be compatible with Verizon's 700 LTE... is it likely that we can roam on their 700mHz band?

Note that in the Network Vision presentation slide, they do show LTE roaming.

  11. Greetings!

Looking forward to LTE deployment info here.

Currently running 3 Sprint 4S's (My black 64GB, Wife's white 32GB and son, Snowtrooper jr's Black 16GB) severly crippled locally on overloaded Sprint 3G service.

Thinking about upgrading to new iPhone this month IF it HAS 4G LTE and it IF will be supported on Sprint's 4G LTE network frequency of 800/1900 mHz.

Do it. The new iPhone will be supported on Sprint's network. Major legal battles will be held if it is not. It has already been leaked that Sprint has made a multi-year commitment to Apple, which would make sense to carry on through future phones.

On Apple's side, if they don't include LTE, they will miss out, and potentially loose their standing as the most popular smartphone brand. So, come September 12th (or 15th), whenever they begin pre-orders, I would say get the iPhone 5.

PS... Sprint is giving $250 in buy back for iPhone 4S 16GB right now... free phone anyone?? And even if they drop the price when the 5 comes out, the iPhone 4 currently sits at $150, so I don't see it getting lower.... that is one nice deal! (if your eligible.. ;) )
