  1. Holy LTE Batman! It looks like the Rockford area is also bathed in LTE goodness as well. This likely means the official announcement is not too far away. It also means I need to run more Sensorly. =P EDIT: Looks like it was announced this morning: http://www.heraldonline.com/2012/10/22/4354590/sprint-brings-4g-lte-to-customers.html
  2. Awesomesauce...pure awesomesauce! I haven't been in the northern IL area for a while, but I live right down the street from a 3G/4G tower. Another 3G/4G tower is right where I spend a lot of other time (shopping, gym, food, movies). Super excited!
  3. My wife has been experiencing this on her Sprint dumb phone for the past few months. I am not sure what towers she has been one when it happens, though. However, it happens randomly when calling her mom's landline, and hasn't yet happened for other calls. This has never happend on either my HTC Evo 4G or Galaxy S3. It is interesting to hear that others are having this same problem...I always assumed it was the phone! =P
  4. I have been on the phone and using WIMAX 4G on both my (old) Epic 4G and my EVO 4G. I am glad to hear that my new GS3 can do 3g/4g and voice at the same time.
  5. I believe most (if not all) of them are being turned on for testing, then turned off. There was a tower near my house that was broadcasting 4g for about a few days, then it suddenly stopped. Most likely, all of these towers will start broadcasting 4g all at once on Sprint's Chicago go-live date (which they haven't announced yet).
  6. This is off topic, so you may be better off posting a new thread. However, setting the modem to LTE/CDMA should be all you need to do. I didn't do anything special to get on LTE. Also note that there are several Jewel-Oscos in Naperville (this is the one on IL-59 near Dominicks). The tower itself is actually along side the highway on the Western side just north of 95th street).
  7. I remember my signal bars being full, but don't recall any specifics. I might take another drive out there as it is only ~10 min away from my place. EDIT: Drove out there and the signal is pretty strong. Attached screen shot.
  8. I picked up a 4G LTE signal at a Jewel-Osco in Naperville, IL. I was pretty surprised since LTE isn't supposed to be active in our area yet.
