  1. Point well taken, AJ. But I wish they would have told me the situation instead of promising it will be taken care of. I wasted several days on the word of that rep I spoke to on Monday. That $25 solution sounds good. I wish I knew more about it. Is there one provider I should consider over another? Where do I purchase that sim at the airport (Gatwick)? Can I talk in addition to data? Will that sim work in Paris and Germany as well? Don't get me wrong, I'm not posing these questions at you, AJ. These are the things I'll have to research. Thanks for the reply. I hope if anyone has any luck with Global Roaming, they'll post here.
  2. Nexuss4g, I've lost track of this thread since you and I PM'd last week about activation. I too am greatly concerned about Global Roaming as I leave for London tomorrow. I literally called Sprint Int'l support the day I activated my MXPE, Sept 14, and I've been given the runaround all week. They called back yesterday and said they're still working on it but this is ridiculous. I leave tomorrow and I think I'm going to have to reactivate my old Moto X 2013 for the trip. Any word on Global Roaming lately? Any luck with Open World?
  3. Thanks to info from nexuss4g, bill875, and others, I got my MXPE activated this morning. I called the Sprint store in the Lakewood Mall, Southern California asking if they have the correct SIM for it and after a hold, I was told no, but that they could find another one that might work. So I took my phone in, unopened, and was helped by the store's asst manager, Erick Bustillo. Erick did everything, including locating the correct SIM that matches the info in this thread. At first, he couldn't activate it so he called customer service, who told him it didn't have a valid imei. They told him to send me home to do it online. So he tried it online himself and it didn't work. I told him about the "leave one digit off the end" and voila. I think he was as happy as I was. If by chance you are in So Cal and you need this done, check with Erick. I can't be sure he has more of those SIMs but he sure hooked me up. Loving this phone so far. I hope this helps.
  4. When attempting activation, did you try the leave one number off the end of the imei technique? Just curious if that "works every time".
  5. Hi, I've come searching for info and help with my Sprint Moto X. My area is basically 3G, and I do get 4G when I move into other areas (Los Angeles, etc.). Earlier this year, upgrades began on my local tower here in Belmont Heights, Long Beach, CA and my once crystal clear calls turned digital and robotic sounding. I went from a Motorola XPRT to an HTC One but the call quality was so far below what I was used to, I've gone to a Moto X. I really like the Moto X. Now, though better, I still needed help, so Sprint sent me an Airave. The Airave gives me crystal clear calls once again, however I can see disconnects/reconnects by watching the bars on my phone. The bars should be solid, especially if I'm in the same room as the Airave! This in turn has negatively affected my battery life while in range of the Airave. I have not dropped a call but while on Wifi, my bars go from full to none every 6 minutes, like clockwork. If I try to connect a call, the bars pop back up. If I connect to the internet while the disconnect is happening, it stalls saying No Network Connection, but eventually connects. Airave support has checked it out on their end and I've taken my phone to a Sprint Store. All is apparently well. So well in fact that they won't send me another Airave to try. Sprint asked me to call FiOS to check their router and I've done that, i's good too. I'm not an enthusiast, so I'd love to know what you all think, or if something rings a bell. Any thoughts would be appreciated. They say that 4G is around the corner for me, and that it could well solve all of my problems, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm already blue in the face. Anyone out there have an Airave with their Moto X? Any luck? If I'm in the wrong thread, please let me know. Thanks!
