  1. I lived in Northern Nevada and worked in Tahoe for years. I left in 2010. Signal up Kingsbury was always a pain on all providers, some worse than others. Someone may have gotten better since 2010. But Verizon, AT&T and Sprint all lost service in many parts driving up the Grade back then. I never used Tmo going over Kingsbury before though. But they are not likely better.

They told me that AT&T works the best though they get roaming signal with Verizon when the Airave goes out here and there. Again they are generally happy with Sprint as no provider is perfect in South lake. I think if Sprint started to deploy some band 26 they could really steal the show from the other guys.

  2. South lake Tahoe needs LTE asap and I won't be surprised if they need b41 cause 3g is almost unusable...

My sister and her husband have felt the pain in South lake for years now. They are generally happy with Sprint as they can make calls around town but in their home (up Kingsbury Grade Rd) they have to use an Airave for calls or 3G though they use their Wi-Fi at home for data. I had a glimmer of hope for them a long time ago when LTE seemed to arrive but they never got it up and running. No back haul I guess.

  3. I need help with wifi calling. I am abroad right now. And i have activated wifi calling on my account and have it correctly setup on my phone. I wven have the handset and signal level icon on left top of the screen. Whenever i try to make a call, as soon as click on dial button, call screen turns orange and "wifi call ended".

Any suggestion on how to get this to work?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe try downloading the google hangouts dialer from the playstore and make calls using that for now? You might have to dial +1 then the phone number for it to work.

  4. How's everyone's WiFi calling experience?

Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk

Over my home DSL line 12mbps/1.5mbps it sounded crystal clear though I only used it for a few minutes to try it out. Also called via downloading the dialer app on Google hangouts. Made a longer call on that over LTE and it was perfectly clear. I'd say both methods actually sounded superior to a call over the Sprint network.

  5. I think I just got a little ripped off. I bought a $30 Craigslist phone (Samsung Admire for Metro PCS).  Seemed to work perfect at the time but power button is hit or miss to turn screen off (mostly miss). Everything on the phone works besides this. Was gonna use it for the $200 off promotion. Anyone know if I'm going to have to use a different phone?

  6. Dan is 60 years old and likely has tens of millions of dollars in the bank.  He can do almost whatever he wants with the rest of his life.

If I were even 40 years old and had even $1 million in the bank, I would mostly stop working and more seriously start pursuing my interests.  I could afford top notch gear for pro photography or test bench equipment for audio/video component measurements.

And the funny thing is that -- when you have money and are not concerned about making more money -- you often find yourself in the position to make more money.  I could probably earn a fair sum publishing my photos and/or my A/V component test bench results.

It might be worth it if Legere, who has repeatedly slandered Sprint, has to make an about face and spin Sprint into something positive.  Yep, Legere just might have to sit and spin.

Yeah Legere, the guy who drove Global Crossing into bankruptcy after being their CEO for 10 years and is doing the pump and dump with T-Mobile.  I don't think it's worth his sit and spin.
