  1. Are they worth $150? Nope! They perform at about $80 bud, which is to say pretty decently for everyday use. I just wish the wire were threaded and or less brittle.

Good to know. I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I might not open them. I'll just put them on Craigslist for $100 and take the best offer. I'm not a big fan of earbuds anyway.

I love the phone though. I came from a Note 4. Huge upgrade especially the camera.

  2. It's like they're/there/ their. You rarely see those used correctly anymore. Or like "dieded". Did he dieded?....Ugh I hate that stupid meme.  God I feel like I'm 80 years old. You kids get off my damn lawn!

Oh but back to the top....Maverick and AppleFanBoy both have good points. I would be tempted by that 40GB family deal. To make things more complicated the reason I use less data from Sprint now is because I switched my internet provider to Comcast which includes their Wi-Fi hotspot app. Most of my data was used listening to music at my gym which doesn't offer WiFi but with the app I can connect to Comcast/Xfinity internet which seems to be ubiquitous in my town.

  3. So does Sprint lower their monthly rates for existing customers if the 2yr contract subsidy goes away? If not then this hurts existing customers. Or are we thought of as loss leaders who should be forced to switch to limited data plans? I'm not bashing and I really don't use much data these days. I just want to know where I stand.

  4. You should probably just replace the battery. Anker has always done me well for whatever devices I used that have removable batteries.

Yeah I thought so. The Anker battery will be on my next Amazon order. I don't plan on getting a new phone for 9-10 months so I might as well replace it.

  5. Battery life seems worse with last update. Granted I've had the phone for 16 months and I'm a fairly heavy phone user but nevertheless. I've even stripped away a few apps I rarely use and tried tweaking some power saving things but it seems to drain faster. I'm wondering if I should just replace the battery because it got old already or was it really the last update that had an impact.?

  6. I know a thing or 2 about meeting customers face to face. I sell medicare health plans to seniors age 65 and up. My 65 year olds are my young clients. I know that I'll keep them as clients for around 20 years (statistically speaking). 5-6 years ago less than 1% of them had smart phones. Today 15-20% have smart phones. I sell on the phone and online but mostly face to face.

Out of my online sales, my phone sales and my face to face sales guess which clients I tend to retain the longest? Guess which clients tell their friends, neighbors and family about me and get me the most referrals? Guess which ones buy from me over and over are the most loyal?

I knew from the day I heard about Sprint doing this "Direct2You" thing that it would be a success. My father has worked this way for 33 years. I've been doing this job for over a decade and I have the option to just work online and over the phone but I chose to do face to face appointments. I choose to meet people at their homes or a coffee shop. That face to face meeting is invaluable. Most people aren't phone wizards and switching around between Apple, Android etc may not be as easy for them as it is for most of us. I know what works and what doesn't. Those online buyers aren't going to be your most loyal customers.

  7. If your CD player is up high near the the dashboard then try the Mountek nGroove. You can find it on Amazon. It takes up the CD slot but who listens to cds anymore lol. I have used it for 3 years and it's the best one I've ever used.

  8. Before leaving to Istanbul Turkey last month I asked Sprint tech support if I could text to the US via Wi-Fi texting. They told me I could call but I'd have to use a 3rd party texting app like Whatsapp to text. I wasn't sure if I believed them but since I often use Whatsapp anyway I didn't mind much.

Upon speed testing the hotel Wi-Fi in Istanbul I immediately became concerned. 700-900kbps download and 700-900kbps upload. I didn't think Wi-Fi calls would work on my Galaxy Note 4 with those speeds but I was wrong. I made several calls to California with no problems at all. Hardly any delay and even the minor delay subsided after 30 seconds or so into the call. Wi-Fi text also worked no problem contrary to what I was told.

  9. It always makes me wonder if people just think the battery drain is more after an update since they're probably just playing with the phone more to figure out the new features.

    Sent from my Note 4.

I thought this might be the case with me so I tested it. I charged back up to 100%. I restarted the phone. I played music on Youtube music key (which is awesome btw) like I normally do. Music playing on the phone with screen turned off. I took a shower and shaved. I checked and 17 minutes had gone by. Phone was down to 91%. 9% drain in 17 minutes. Kit Kat would have drained maybe 2% doing the same thing. I just upgraded to Lollipop this morning so I'm hoping it stabilizes over time or Sprint comes out with an update to fix this issue.

  10. Was hoping to see more post paid net adds but anything positive is excellent and I imagine next quarter will be huge! Nearly a million adds total is awesome! A little confused why they are referring to this as the 3rd fiscal quarter? I would have thought we'd be at Q4 by now no?

  11. I rewatched the interview from yesterday. Legere: We have 38 million gross adds.

    Interviewer:Gross?

Legere: Yes, new subscribers come over.

    Interviewer: Wow

Legere: 10 million net who stay.

Interviewer: Why not allow roll over forever instead of just 1 year then data expires?

Legere: Uh, its a gift. We're giving it as a gift.

Haha, he glosses over the fact that 28 million people leave T-mobile after trying it. That's nearly 3/4 of people who try it leave.

  12. Well. I thought the Spark rollout in this market was complete. It was one of the first LTE markets and Spark markets. Is there really more work to be done? When you get talk like this, I expect to see blazing speeds. 120Mbps? Lucky to see 20Mbps.

Is there something you are not able to do with 20Mbps? I'm not trying to be a jerk but I can stream high definition video with 5Mbps. I agree that if they promised a certain speed they should deliver that speed. At the same time I also feel that Sprint has come along way recently.

  13. Roll over data would be awesome for me. My wife is on the 1GB framily line, and usually she uses 500MB or so...but every so often there are the months were she is over 1GB. I just pay the overage since it's cheaper than the $10 upgrade to 3GB for the little bit it happens. Kudos Tmobile to a good idea!

The 1GB T-MOBILE plan doesn't qualify for roll over. Must be 3GB to qualify.
