Pretty sure they stopped allowing that last year.
Its cool all you guys are getting free extended batteries though!
Checkout gave me the option to add it to my Sprint bill (at least until I tried to select it) or the usual credit card options. I assume that means they will allow some accounts to bill it. Although I have been with Sprint a few years, our new phones are on a new account. I assume that I couldn't bill the account because this particular account is only a few months old.
Yes, it is cool. Thanks again. I don't login into my Sprint account much and I don't really follow the Gnex stuff online since it's my son's phone. I might have missed the offer if I didn't see the post here.
What browser are you using?
For this particular transaction I used Firefox.

Those of you who bought online how long ago did you buy your Gnex?

When I ordered online, I logged into my Sprint account. There was a message in the info center about the free battery. I followed the link in the message, added the battery to the cart, entered the promo code and checked out. It worked fine.
I couldn't add it to my Sprint bill though either.

Thanks for the head up. Just ordered the battery online. $6.50 for shipping plus state sales tax. Nice!

There are plenty of birds protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. I would guess most, if not all, states have their own set of protected species. Osprey and Eagles would be just two of the species that it would be illegal to disturb the nests during breeding season. It is my understanding in NJ, you need to have both federal and state permits to even climb a tower that has an Osprey or Eagles nest during breeding season .
I would think that disturbing the Osprey nests could be particularly troublesome for the contractors as there are organizations that track and watch the Osprey. From what I understand they generally return to the same nest every year.

I received alerts last weekend driving through Virginia on the way to OBX. I have the sound turned off though. I was afraid I would hear the emergency alert sound in a meeting or something, so I turned the sound off shortly after I received the phone. Does the volume of the emergency alert change with the ringtone setting? or is it all or nothing, on or off? If I set the phone to vibrate only what does that do to the emergency alerts if you have the sound on?
BTW: I have the EVO 4G LTE

I understand why others would root it and that's cool. I have no need or desire to use my Kindle as a "real tablet" at this time. It serves me very well exactly like it is.
My feelings exactly. I thought about rooting but the Fire does what want to do with it now so why bother.
I know you have already used App Backup and Restore but
Using ES File Manager
"Manager" >> "App Manager" >> Long press on app >> "backup" >> Extracted .apk files will be placed in "backups"
Using ASTRO
"Application Backup" >> choose apps to backup and click on "backup" >> Extracted .apk files will be placed in "backups"
You can change the directory for both in the settings.

You can sideload apps on the Kindle Fire. I sideloaded Dropbox and some other apps.
You can use ES File Manager or Astro to extract the apk.

The delay when using long press for alternate character selection is a little long for my taste but overall I really like it.
The new beta lets you change the long press time is settings.

I have never blocked calls so forgive my asking... is there a reason to use an another app over just blocking them in the people app on the phone, assuming you are still using the people app?

I had an issue where Wallet was just hanging. There were no card options. All blue screen. I called they had me uninstall the updates. Then reboot and reinstall updates. It worked for me.

I think I am getting at after I have a roam signal.

I'm also seeing the Asurion Total Equipment Protection. I have heard good things about Asurion and their rapid replacement. Anyone on here have experience with Asurion.
Isn't that just who Sprint uses to provide their coverage? I didn't think you could by from them without going through your provider. Not sure though.
I don't think I would go with Ensquared simply due to the police report required if your phone is lost. Getting a police report is a pain. The whole Ensquared claims process seems very cumbersome. Also the say that they can replace your phone with one of "like kind or quality" Like quality is a very broad window. That's a little too vague for me.
Yeah, I don't like the replacement part either. But the $750 max for Squaretrade is a problem too. No police report needed for Squaretrade since they don't cover lost/stolen anyway.
I know I should just skip the insurance and take my chances but... after dropping my old phone so many times, I finally hit it just right the last time on the edge of the car, spent the last few weeks waiting for my EVO LTE with my screen held together with packing tape. It only takes one drop if it hits just right.

I have no experience with any of these companies. But I've been wondering the same thing. The TEP coverage is definately going to be dropped. Just trying to decide if I want to add one of these third party coverages.
Between Squaretrade and Ensquared. I'm leaning toward Ensquared. (if I opt for any coverage.) The coverage seems better and I think if I have to file a claim(s), the process is likely to be frustrating no matter which company I have. Have you looked at Enquared? If so, is there a reason that you are looking at Squaretrade over Ensquared?

Have you seen the presentation form the annual shareholders meeting?
"Plan to upgrade 274 cell sites in 2012 and the remaining 236 in 2013"
"Expect to launch LTE as early as Q3 2012"

You are. It says S4GRU Sponsor in your profile.

New one in Philly...
Actually, the tower in the lower right by I95 and Somerset is also marked as new. But I think you already have that one.

Ok, So I understand that the timing of the later Network Vision rounds depends on how the earlier rounds go. I am assuming that really the timing of a later round market depends on how the earlier markets of the same vendor went. For instance, if Samsung gets ahead of schedule or fall behind that it will affect later round markets in Samsung areas but will have no effect of the Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent markets. Is that correct? If so is there a map or list of the vendor markets?

There's still a market for feature phones which I think will soon replace the standard dumb phone as the ultimate low end device.
Oh, I agree. There just doesn't seem to be much of a selection.

Well, I know it's not what most people are waiting for. But considering the line up of feature phones and the scheduled EOL devices, some one is probably looking for its release.
On a side note, I see the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G is now 49.99 on Amazon with new contract.

Seeing your article on central Jersey, I was hoping the next announcement would be for closer to there. Oh, well.
Any idea if Sprint plans roll out the Philadelphia Metro area, as one large market or break it down into smaller markets (ie. PA, NJ, DE, MD)?

Thanks for the info.

I've been roaming since yesterday in an area I shouldn't be. I happened to drive by the tower and there were a bunch of trucks parked there. On my way back I stopped and spoke briefly with a gentleman who said he was the electrician. He told me I was roaming because the tower is shut down. He said he was there to shut everything down so the guys from Alcatel Lucent could work on the cabinets for the network upgrades they are starting in the area. The Alcatel Lucent guys were busy working in the fenced in area.
