I have two boys who online game at the same time. Add to that a couple of their friends who bring their laptops over so they can all play together. That is really nothing new in our house though. Friends with Ipod Touchs, DSs, phones and laptops. The guest network password is posted on the fridge.
A few months ago the boys started complaining. It was a while before I took them seriously. Then I noticed the lag in loading web pages when they were both playing. I know I said I read Comcast is increasing the performance from 15 down but I think in our area we had 12/2.
I just question at what point does speed become a marketing tool?
Check that, it already is.
It always has been.

our nation would be far better off by ensuring that basically everyone has access to at least a tenth of those speeds via wired broadband.
Agreed.

We don't do anything that requires more than that (yet!). If it wasn't for the free upgrade, I'm not sure we would have the 50/25. But when we first got Comcast Performance or whatever it was called when we moved in here years ago, I didn't think we would need that. It was more that enough and I think it was even slower then. Before we switched to FiOS, the kids were complaining their online games were dragging. Now I read Comcast is increasing their performance speeds from 15 to 25.
We don't need it but it exists and someone will find a use for it eventually. I would like to know who has a 150/65 connection and what are they using it for?
-
Depends on where you live. Here both the local Cable companies and Verizon FiOS offer 60+mbps speeds.
Yes, when we switched to FiOS, the top tier was 150Mpbs/65Mpbs. We went for the 50/25. I wonder how long that is going to last us before we need to go higher.

We have fantasy football mugs, coasters and hats from Cafe Press. Haven't ordered anything recently but we were happy with what we have. The one mug is used every Sunday during football season for years now. (Supposedly for good luck.)
If you use Cafe Press, you can set up a store with them. We didn't place our orders that way, so I don't really know how much the commission is.

I have both HD Widgets and Beautiful Widgets. I prefer HD Widgets.

That's new since last Tuesday. The tower is of 82 on the Unionville fire company's property
I'm not sure. If it's the one on Rt 82, it's disappointing. I lost LTE right around Rt 1. Hopefully, it is a farther tower or they still need to do some adjustments. Otherwise, I wonder what kind of LTE coverage we're going to have in Southern Chester County.
The 2-3 mile mapping is up on Sensorly. You can see the LTE signal die just around Rt 1.
-
Just mapped a small line of LTE on Rt. 82 just above Rt. 1 in Unionville/Kennett Square. I wasn't expecting to pick up 4G and didn't have time to map anywhere out of my way, only mapped about 2-3 miles on 4G. I'll have to try to get back over there later this week.
Great speeds too, 15 Mbps up/ 8 down.

Interesting, seems like Dish Network is now interested in purchasing Sprint Nextel before the SoftBank purchase goes through.
There's a separate thread to discuss this. It's already up to eight pages.

To be honest, I was never pessimistic, I was simply telling what I was and gave my thoughts. I hypothesized it will take at least couple months to half a year on early January. It has since been two month.
You ever hear the saying "If you throw enough darts..."
-
That's true. But how many people do you know that actually pay attention to thread titles? I've missed them a few times, that's for sure.
I don't read all the threads so I always read the subject.
-
When you use Forum Runner or Tapatalk, you can't see what phone others are using.
Yes but the name of the thread is "EVO LTE performance report."

As for the hurricane. That may pertain to New Jersey or Delaware, but Pa was fine from the storm. Sprint 3g is not very good. I'm trying to be patient, but Sprint makes it difficult. I do appreciate the info you provide. I need you to know that, but the info comes from a company that has problems. We haven't been waiting for 4g for a couple months, we've been waiting for a couple years. Wimax never worked right in the Philly market. Sorry to be whining
This is just an assumption on my part, but I think it is very reasonable assumption... while SE PA obviously did not sustain the same kind of damage as our neighboring states, it is still very much a possibility that the hurricane affected progress in our market. I believe it very likely did. The extra crews needed for repairs in the damaged areas came from somewhere. If crews were moved to states with hurricane damage for repair work then their scheduled work is going to fall behind.

Are your contacts loading slow for anything else? I had that problem for a little while when on ICS. Things like making calls, opening the people widget and I think the problem you describe. Hard reset fixed it for me.

Drove through on Rt 1, Saturday night/Sunday am. LTE was up then.

Check the last post in the running list thread. It hasn't been updated since 12/26. The numbers will change when Robert gets around to updating them. I assume he will once again post the updated message when he his done. Patience.

Well the wait just got shorter! Just went on Sensorly and saw the first patch of LTE for the Philadelphia market!
Nice catch!
Just a side note this is in Media Pennsylvania, not Philadelphia.
And Media is part of the "Philadelphia Market" which is what he said.

And it is not just retailers either. Since paychecks are now direct deposited, I could take a while getting the few stray personal checks I receive to the bank to deposit. ( I hate going to the bank!) But with my bank's Android app, trips to the bank with checks to deposit are basically nonexistent.
Open the app, take a picture of the front of the back, one of the back, hit a button. A little while later receive a confirmation email. Check deposited.

Sounds like what's going on here. I called Sprint last night, the person I spoke with told me to call back if my service is not back up by late next week.
I don't mind roaming if my calls and texts would come through reasonably well but alas... I just have to remember why.
Thanks.

Sorry for double post...
Robert, if a site is hot-swapped, any idea how long would you expect it to be down?

I remember reading somewhere that the Sprint Nextel merger is considered one of the least successful of all time. I can't image they would ever use Nextel.
My opinion is Sprint should remain Sprint. If not that, then they need a completely new name. Now there's a thread to start.

Try to get pictures when you can of the new panels!
I am assuming they haven't put the new panels up yet since NV is just starting around here but thought I would post these (since I know absolutely nothing about panels) to make sure and then I will keep an eye out for changes.
It's hard to get good pictures. I can get close but there are trees and the fact that the panels go around the water tower makes the panels spread out and blend in with the tower.

Didn't they already have the support of Comcast, Intel, and Bright House at $2,97?
