  1. I pre-ordered from BB.com on 10/25. I received it 11/11. Still waiting on the GC email I'm supposed to get.
  2. I followed ericdabbs steps to get my MSL. Now what do I do with it?
  3. I received my G2 I pre-ordered on BB.com Monday morning if anyone is interested. Just had to wait 3 more days, and saved myself a lot of hassle.
  4. I'm down in Chicago alot, and I believe CSFB is working there. I will probably stick with the G2 and wait. $100 plus a $50 GC is too sweet of a deal. Thanks again for the help.
  5. Just donated now. I'll check out the maps when I get set up as a sponser. I'll try to contribute to the MKE area maps if possible.
  6. I agree with your assessment. The hard part for me is the Milwaukee area doesn't have LTE officially, how will I know my G2 will work once MKE is officially declared LTE 4G? And thanks for your write up and responses!!! Very informative and well organized article.
  7. Did Sprint realize this before they released the triband phones? Did they just not care? I think it could be deemed false advertising if they knew beforehand. Selling a LTE phone they know won't work? If I lived in a LTE market and had a working LTE before buying a triband phone, I'd be pretty pissed. It seems Sprint just keeps shooting itself in the foot. Unfortunately, I live in the Milwaukee area which only has unofficial LTE. My G2 cannot connect.
  8. I just ordered a G2. On the G2 owner's thread there is a discussion on the new tri-band phones having problems connecting to LTE in certain markets, its called the eCSFB Gap issue. I don't really understand all the details honestly. Not sure what makes a market incumbent or not. It's seeming like the Milwaukee area may have this problem. Does anyone know for sure? I'm now trying to decide if I should return the G2 and get a non-triband phone, keep it and wait, or just finally give up on Sprint and switch carriers. Can Sprint stop shooting themselves in the foot? A new tri-band phone, that can only connect to 3G in some markets? Really?
  9. Just got my shipping notice from BB. Nothing about the GC.
  10. I agree. I'll wait and take the guaranteed $50. I'd like the phone sooner too, but everyone seems to be putting in a lot of time and effort. I'm happy I'm getting the phone for basically $50, but I'll never order from BB.com again, that is certain. My status now says: Order Status:: 1 item(s) Order in process of being fulfilled Hopefully, it will at least ship today.
  11. Thanks for saving me the effort. I guess I'll have to wait too. Were you able to at least expedite your shipping? I stuck with the free shipping because I assumed since it was pre-order, they would ship in time to be here on the 8th. Would it help to go to a store and try? I was at a BB Mobile over the weekend. After the manager confirmed the online deal, he told me if they had them in stock he would sell me one and cancel my online order. He also said no GC, but he would sell it to me for $50 to match the online deal. Of course, they didn't have them in stock.
  12. My order is showing again. But still no change in status. Shows: "Order Status:: We received your order. We'll e-mail you when this item is ready to ship or pick up."
  13. Just went to BestBuy.com to check my order status - it's not showing my order anymore. I also searched via order # and it still didn't come up. It was there earlier today. I hope its just system maintenance.
  14. I assumed the Spark announcement meant the G2 won't see tri-band support until early 2014, but should be able to connect to band 25 out of the box. How can it be otherwise? If it cannot connect to band 25 out of the box, then its not a LTE phone and it's false advertising as far as I'm concerned - I would be returning the phone asap. But you know the famous quote about assuming things....
  15. How can you verify Sprint NV antennas? I'm a noob at this, but I'd like to check towers near me if I'm in the area. That begs the question, how can I get the location of Sprint antennas in my area? Thanks in advance.
  16. Reminds me of the scene from Goodfellas. Hopefully this won't affect pre-orders from BB.
  17. Nope. If you buy online, there are options to either Keep Existing Plan or Change Plan. You do have to re-select the $10 you already pay for data. I have Everything Shared (which I kept) and I will want to add lines in the future. Everything shared 3rd line = $20 + $10 unlimited data = $30 Unlimited, My Way 3rd line = $30 + $30 unlimited data (or 1GB data is $20) = $60 Big difference. Whoops. Just noticed you mentioned adding a new line and not upgrading current. You can always try it, just don't check out if it makes you change your plan.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. I'm in no rush, I've been waiting on a triband phone since August when I was eligible for an upgrade, I can wait a bit longer. I'll probably use the GC to buy that Quickwindow case if it offers decent protection from drops and such. Anyone have one?
  19. Just pre-ordered the White G2 from BestBuy for $100, plus a $50 GC. The Black was out of stock. I wanted black, and was thinking about waiting to see if would come back in stock, but decided white was ok. I think its in high demand cause its a good deal, especially if you're a new customer then its free plus a $50 GC. WOW! Nothing on the ship date though, so not sure when I'll get it. Hope this LTE thing gets worked out!
