They both count hangouts data. That stinks. Might have to pop in my TMo sim then.
Now, you mention hangout calls... Are you saying that as an FYI or does TMo not count Hangout call data against you?
Project Fi is unlimited calls through phone app, however the hangouts dialer will count against your data (it's a data stream)

So I just bought a house and the neighbor has an airave...my phone marginally connects to it, then to the 3g/lte nearby. End result is really bad battery. Went there this weekend and battery stats where 25% cell signal searching.
So going to have to install my own airave
What's the status on airave and whitelist/blacklist? Was that ever fixed?

So does anyone know what's the advantage of Google Fi vs Sprint integration? Seems as long as Sprint has better coverage than T-Mobile, then with Sprint integration you still get call/text from any hangouts device...

I have mine set to sms. If I remember, it acted weird when I had it the other way.

awesome, thanks so much, I think that must be the change. I'll leave google messenger installed for group mms. MMS seems to be working over googlevoice integration to my GF (Verizon iphone). Shows up on my tablet, pc etc...awesome
Thanks!!!
-
Group mms will only go to your phone, not through gvoice/hangouts. The same goes for sending. You can't send mms from gvoice/hangouts.

awesome, working good so far. One thing though. Under hangouts settings-->SMS-->"Default SMS Messaging Account" did you set it to SMS or to your google email?
When set to SMS it shows all my old texts, but don't want issues
-
One more thing, does it work with group mms??
Thanks

Hey thanks so much, I'll integrate and check it out!!I have my Sprint # integrated. I did it about 2 weeks ago. Everything works just fine. Text msgs show up on all my android devices and I can text from my tablet or computer. I can also call from Hangouts using my Sprint #, which is pretty cool. Same for my tablet and computer. I can also receive calls on my tablet and computer.
There's only one thing that I hope they may fix at some point. MMS msgs only go to my phone, and don't come through to all my devices. That would make it perfect.

Hey so is gvoice and sprint integration fixed? Does it still send a million text messages over and over again?
Does it still work when your sprint number is your google voice number and you integrate into hangouts?
(I read it works when you integrate with your google number replacing sprint and integrate into hangouts)

I just had a telephone interview with Google, and the audio quality of their Google Voice call to my Sprint phone was abysmal.
I just deintegrated. I was having bad voice issues. And for some reason, HD Voice wasnt working when talking to my father. A shame, really like texting from my tablet integrated with hangouts
It was working well with texting, as I set textra as default on phone, and disabled sms on phone hangouts (texts sent go over data but come to hangouts) MMS sent to my phone appeared in textra
Anyone get integration with hangouts replacing GV app to work well?

Yes exact same site and bands monitored using signal check pro
Very strange
Same result at the tower by my home

Hey everyone,I'm running android l the developer 2 with lpx13d (new radio) and I'm getting speed tests of ~.30mbps. When I flash the old .15 radio, I get 4-5mbps. Does anyone know what's going on?
This is on both lte800 and LTE
Thanks

When I send SMS in hangouts via Sprint, the thread in hangouts will still show two messages. One via Sprint and another via Google Voice, but the recipient doesn't get two messages. I do have it set to smart reply and it will automatically switch back to sending via Google Voice after the first Sprint SMS is sent. I was hoping this new update would fix that.
I just integrated as i want to text from my tablet and work pc. (sprint # as GV#)
initially had the double text on my side but single text on receiving end. Set the reply option to google voice, logged out of google voice app, and set the incoming call option in hangouts to unchecked.
Everything seems to work great, no duplicates, and mms sends a link now, but i can live with that.

I would love that. 4.4.4 radio drops to 3g in areas where I have lte on. 15. ~110dbmI seem to have the complete opposite experience on the 4.4.4 radio. I feel my LTE scan time is too low and that it scans too frequently. That might seem like a good thing, but where my apartment happens to be, it tends to drop a very good 3G signal very often to look for an LTE signal. I see it happen at least once a day, and I don't check my phone that often at home. Luckily I use WiFi at home, so it's not a big deal, and when I'm out and about, I pretty much have LTE unless I'm at or around work, but the scan time has definitely decreased for me when compared to 4.4.3 and before.
I walk into my office on . 15 and I'll have lte but not on 4.4.4
Scan time going back to lte in the conference room takes a while on 4.4.4

Running L right now, chomp is working with MMS just fine...?I was able to get MMS to send on Sprint, but not receive using hangouts by turning off merged conversations. Using a third party app (I tried chomp sms) I was able to get both send/receive to work with WiFi off.
-
I thought mms only didn't work with hangouts? Anyone try chomp sms?Well that's good news. Thanks for the heads up, I might take a second crack at Android L and see if the fix is legit or not.

The .15 radio is definitely more sticky to LTE in my opinion. The. 16 radio seems to have the same reception but camps on 3gThey work, for instance the .15 works even with non ecsfb enabled b41/26. However they weren't specifically designed with spark capability in mind like the 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 radios were (and future ones of course).

texts, I flashed back to .15, Any chance it could be the modem? Never happened on .15
Text or hangout?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk -
Um so has anyone had texts not come through? So the phone will be on LTE, but no texts come through, it takes an Airplane cycle or restart and then all the texts flood in.
Not sure what's going on. It's not an ecsfb issue
-
Anyone see B41 in St Pete area?? Great B26, but haven't seen any 41 yet
-
I changed global to lte and now this phone grabs 41 the same or better than my g2 or m8. I guess I'm happy. Don't know what changed but I back tracked the route when I didn't get 41, did a profile update and changed to LTE. Fixed. We'll see how b26 works

I've been camping on 3g, it would just drop B26 which .15 got strong in my apt. I changed from global to LTE mode (i didn't think that would work...but so far it's looking better!)
-
i have huge 3g camping issues, airplane cycle makes it find B26, then eventually drops to 3g again. I'm debating going back to .15
-
At grande and old Jacksonville I was at -101dbm on b26. Was -92dbm with twice the performance on .15. The .13 radio only gave me 3-4 Mbps, and .15 had 15-20 download in the same spot. I will drive around to test it more
I've been testing it and I seem to get about 5dBm less on the new modem when compared to flashing back to .15 Now is that worth it over proper band transitions?

All around Jacksonville, T-Mobile is rock solid. I10 not so much outside the city
Sprint hasn't been bad but lots of speed tests at 1mbps while T-Mobile has always been 15+.
Just my experience
