  1. I was driving the other day past the Loomis Rd / I-894 tower...just as a previous poster highlighted a few days ago, this location is back broadcasting LTE after some upgrade issues forced Sprint to tak it "offline" (per a Technical Support rep from Sprint). I also got blazing fast speeds from it... http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/628436751
  2. Interesting story on the Fox 6 website about AT&T activating a new 4G tower in Oak Creek...it also mentions their efforts to improve their network. If Sprint had any brains they would be using the media to show off their improvements..at the very least it is a great PR move. http://fox6now.com/2013/10/17/att-expands-4g-network-in-oak-creek/
  3. The Loomis Rd tower has had all kinds of issues. ..I have nit noticed it broadcastibg LTE fir a few weeks now
  4. OK..thanks..I was way off on my thinking there. Not only did I believe the shorter of the two towers in that location was Sprint, I also thought it was 4G. Makes perfect sense that it is not LTE yet though seeing how the 4G signal vanishes when you go 1 block south (that would be some pathetic range).
  5. So, this tower is NOT broadcasting LTE then? Also, I see from your pictures that those are ATT signs...sure that is for Sprint?
  6. I get 4g LTE near 92nd and Beloit..assumed that tower there (the shorter one of the two towers there) was broadcasting LTE
  7. Kind of some bad LTE news to report. I placed a call to the top tier tech support today (well, actually got transferred there after the customer resolution dept couldn't help me). Anyways...the towers around 108th and Layton are not scheduled for LTE upgrade within the next 30 days. Not entirely sure how accurate this is though since he mentioned that the 124th and Beloit road tower hadn't received any equipment updates but I seem to recall someone here mentioning speaking to some workers' at this site location..??? The tech support guy did seem to know what he was talking about though..and even appeared to be from the USA.
  8. so as far as Milwaukee goes, this would cover the western and southern suburbs..very small portion of the actual city itself. thank you for the clarification...I can close my mapquest page now...
  9. actually, it only travels East - West for about 4 miles regardless, you are correct..I am sure he meant to say I-94 or maybe was just referring to the brief East - West portion I mentioned above who the heck knows...
  10. It was a Galaxy S3 Signal Check showed 1 x 800 (must have been only for the voice then?) I was just amazed that a Sprint signal penetrated a building...and worked
  11. If this guys job is to test the signals by driving and he doesnt know what highways he is on it would lead to me to believe that the information he is providing is not very accurate. then again, we have all mis-spoken a few times in our lives.. I guess time will tell.
  12. In Schaumburg, IL a few days ago I ran a speed test..got these amazing speeds, and I was in a basement in a building that was surrounded by lots of tall, thick trees. I suspect this is the 1X800 signal penetration ability? 15.97 download 8.74 upload WOW
  13. Please explain this location..I-43 is a north / south interstate...how can a location be south of a road that is already running N/S? thanks...
  14. a bit off topic here..i apologize..but, is there anyone here who can provide me with contact information for someone at the corporate level. I am sick and tired of dealing with the lame customer service reps...none of them can help me. Thanks..
  15. OK..then I suspect i am pulling my signal from the tower near 124th and Beloit road...just as I originally suspected Basically, the app is useless to me then..owe well..$1.99 wont kill me
  16. nope...guess not...or the address for the tower is wrong I get 4424 S 114 ST, Milwaukee for the BSL around my home..there is no tower there,..that is a residential neighborhood. In fact, a buddy from high school lived 2 houses down...mmmmm
  17. I finally decided to go ahead and pay for the signalcheck pro... Am I correct that the "BSL" is the cell tower location that it is pulling from? If so..wow..had no idea there so many towers around. Actually, then one would expect far better service.
  18. I called Sprint customer service this morning cause of the continued lack of acceptable service at my home (hwy 100 and layton area)..they ran some test, or said they did...the loomis rd / hwy 894 tower has been having all kinds of issues according to the rep.
  19. just checked..still nothing...odd i am indoors..too lazy to walk outside..
  20. I live in Greenfield...very close to hwy 100 and Layton...my phone has been "searching for service" since I woke up at 6am.. I usually only get one bar, maybe 2 if the stars are aligned properly..but rarely this, and never for this long non stop. Wonder if work is being done near me..perhaps and upgraded tower..or just another Sprint service outage.. mmmmmm...??
  21. Bradford Beach all the way to Summerfest area and into the 3rd Ward.. i had 4G on Brady on Saturday...
  22. Cause most WI women are fat and I didnt want to have nightmares! The sight of a whale in a bikini could cause ones' eyes to explode! I also noticed that I had 4G service all the way down to the Summerfest grounds and into the 3rd Ward area...
  23. Hey..I said my piece..I am not here to complain..I am here to learn about Sprint LTE and pass along any info I learn to others. I discovered the 4G service yesterday at the Lakefront...was great..watched my HBO GO with no delays.
  24. That post pretty much says it all... You just proved my point...how is your posting technically related to Spring 4G? It's not...thanks for your input
  25. Lots of useful info here...and yes, 4G Sprint service is starting to expand, but dont let this persuade you from making a change to ATT or Verizon. I recently relocated here from a market that has has 4G service from ALL providers...my personal Sprint phone was still far behind what my Verizon work phone did..and my girlfriends ATT was even better! Try them all out..they will let you for 30 days...although it is a little time consuming returning to the stores to have your service swapped/exchanged/returned. Also of note..while I do not like complainers and whiners myself, the recent posts here were NOT out of line at all..come on..it's America..let someone occasionally chime in. What is more annoying is the frequent suggestions and solicitations for donations on this site...those requests have gotten out of hand.
