  1. I think that sprint could refarm/reconfigure their b25 holdings to allow 10x10... But the time and money it would take to do so when they already have b41 with 3x20 possible today begs the Question-why?

At the end of the day it comes to execution-buy and implement the small cells/macro sites where it's needed.

If they can do that in a timely fashion maybe we should all buy 600k shares.

  2. Cornering AJ into fact vs opinion does nothing to further our education and can be used to define a troll. It is fact that LTE is a more fragile airlink and therefore VoLTE is not as reliable as 1x800. For a company that has had reliability issues, Sprint is wisely holding off on its implementation.

Single path radios, as explained by AJ, were necessary to stay in business and no one can fault a good business decision especially given 1x800's coverage ability.

  3. I know it has been discussed in the Tampa and NYC market threads but...my data and even voice calls wouldn't work at all yesterday afternoon into this AM.

Everything seems to be working now though. I will admit it was quite frustrating not being able to make calls - I can see why "pardon our dust" didn't appease many people. (free iphones would have though ;))

  4. I was just searching the South Hills news on the post gazette website:

    http://www.post-gazette.com/local/south/2015/02/02/Upper-St-Clair-board-approves-building-on-McMurray-Road/stories/201502020197

    Came across this:

The board also set a public hearing date of 7:30 p.m. on April 6 to establish regulations for distributed antenna systems (DAS), which are alternatives to traditional cell towers.

The low-powered antennas are installed on existing street light poles to close gaps in cellular service coverage.

I guess there are plans for an outdoor DAS in Upper St. Clair.

  5. Reviving the once mighty Steeler (Pittsburgh) thread here.

I have seen flashes of B26 at my work on the North Side (AGH) and in Bloomfield (West Penn) and in my house in the South Hills, but it has been far from consistent. At times I get -88 dBm signal where there used to be only 3G but it disappears quickly.

I know its all optimizing but I'd like to see the work coalesce here. I do get B41 in a handful of spots too so that's nice knowing that we are a 4th rounder in NV.

Anyone else getting more consistent B26 'round here?

  6. So a best of both worlds plus Wi-Fi?

That would create huge pressure on the duopoly but would also cannibalize Sprint and T-Mobile's customer base. I would think financially Sprint and T-mo would have to be well compensated for such a deal if it were to work as Google supposedly intends.

  7. Maybe I missed this somewhere in the thread but I'm not realizing how a Google MVNO is going to be such a big draw.

What extra service can Google provide by being an MVNO that it couldn't do with its Nexus or Google play edition phones? Why are people going to want Google as thier service provider?
