  1. Well crap....I'm on Westinghouse right off I-77 and I'm getting nothing. Same claim of 3G with practically zero throughput.

I couldnt pick up LTE early this morning in that area either. I picked it up on S. Tryon / Westinghouse Blvd towards Steele Creek and dropped it 300 yds from my office !! I agree 3G today is really bad, Pandora is a no go and I can barely get a speedtest to complete.

Edit: and after looking on the maps last night I think it was more like 2 towers in this area that were lit up yesterday.

  2. i just mapped a TON of new LTE sites on Sensorly around my office tonight !! I drove around for over 20 minutes and never could find the end of coverage, they had to of lit up 5-6 towers today. Its all over the I-77/ I-485 area, Westinghouse Blvd, S.Tryon ... My office is completely surrounded with LTE now !! woohoo !!!

  3. I hope that they work on the Charlotte area a little more in the upcoming weeks. I know we are a Second Round Market according to the updates but when the first round markets get closer to completion then we should be improving at a faster pace.

I dont think that this is the case. I believe that the sub-contractors are hired independent of each market so one market doesn't necessarily affect any others, Robert maybe able to explain it further.

  4. Crickets chirping... That's all I'm hearing out of the Charlotte area the last couple of days. Anybody seeing anything new?

Also as anyone been able to connect to LTE on the tower in Ballantyne? I haven't been able to connect since upgrading to JB, I didn't know if it's the phone or tower.

  5. Looks like there is a new spot ( or i haven't noticed it before ) at Providence and Queens Rd as well.

I just noticed a new Sensorly spot has appeared at Crowders Mountain State Park.

Robert was right when he said they deploy in a shot gun fashion all over the market ! That one is really random !

  6. I still continue to not get 4GLTE near Providence/Randolph and Fairview... Good strong 3G right now... I suspect the Testing is over for now... My most recent Sprint phone bill shows the 4G on it for my phone!!!

You can also text "Usage" to 1311 and get a text back from Sprint with all your current usage as far as minutes, texts, 3G and 4G data. I use this all the time.

  7. Seem to have problems getting the JB update myself. Dang assert failed errors.

Have you tried the Google Services Framework method ?? I used that this past Saturday and it worked for me.

    Applications>All>Google services framework>clear data-force stop>system update>update Samsung software.

This method will usually work although you may have to do it several times, I tried about 30 times before it got it others have gotten it in as little as 2.

  8. I went by that tower on the way to work this morning around 6am and was able to connect to LTE at that time. I ran a couple of speedtests and speeds were down compared to last week. It also dropped back to 3G alot quicker as I was only several hundred feet past it on I-485. I was able to stay connected last week till I was almost to Carolina Place Mall..I sure hope they dont start blocking LTE access, I say if it works then let customers use it !

as a side note I upgraded to JB this weekend and it seemed to switch to LTE pretty good on it's own, previously I usually needed to toggle airplane mode to make the connection. I have also noticed this morning that the transition from 1xRTT to eHRPD is MUCH better, it re-establishes connection right away.

  9. Mapped a little more on the way home tonight. Picked it up in the same area as earlier today and held on to it till just short of Rea Rd. I let it try to connect on its own but had to airplane toggle a few times to make the connection.

I was able to run a speed test as well, got 27 down 13 up ping 52

  11. Did a little mapping in Ballantyne at lunch. Looks like some others picked it up on I-485 as they were driving by too.

Edit: Just saw the poster above. It was you!!!

yeah I saw that purple blip in Ballantyne this morning and I had to go check it out ! I see you headed down Johnston Rd a little farther than I did, I was running out of time. I'm going to run it on the way home tonight and see how far it goes down I-485 towards Matthews, heading the other way it didnt drop off till I was coming up on Carolina Place Mall.

  12. So I drove out to the area tonight and as I was approaching the Arboretum shopping center I noticed the 4G icon appear on my phone! It only lasted a few seconds so I kept driving on Hwy 51 towards Matthews and as I passed in front of Providence high school it locked on 4G again. I pulled into the parking lot and ran a speed test and took some screen shots but it fell back to 3G. I toggled mobile data and it locked again so I started Sensorly but as soon as I started moving a little bit it dropped back again but I was able to add some points on the map!!
